    The biggest selling points of the Facecam are manual ISO adjustments and the ability to save the profile to the camera itself. Those are game changers.

    • @jonthepizza

      Kiyo pro saves to the camera too if I’m not mistaken

    • @matthewallen6183

      @@jonthepizza No it doesn't, in fact even random software accessing the camera sometimes don't see those settings. And a power cycle wipes them.
      Razor software also comes with the real downside of making your system unstable or less usable in other ways. I've seen it cause a windows 10 login to take minutes instead of seconds. It's just not worth the risk. I wouldn't touch anything razor related.

    Thanks for the comparison!!! Many other channel will compare it to older webcams to favour it.
    The Elgato Webcam should be compared to the Razer Kiyo Pro and the Dell Ultrasharp Webcam. They all have the same sensor and same RRP.

      Yeah and a lot of reviewers leave the bad AF on the Kiyo Pro the whole time - even tho there was a firmware fix for it a while back but also with the Elgato being fixed focus, it seems more sensible to use the Razer in manual mode too.

    For me the good mics from the kiyo are the reason why i bought it. They are way better than the one in my laptop and for meetings and sessions with clients it good enough.

  • @sonicwingnut
    @sonicwingnut 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    One bonus to the Kiyo Pro there for content creators doing tech or other stuff is they can use the manual focus to do extreme close-up shots (for instance painting miniatures, or working on a circuit board) as well as whole room shots (like say for a music performance) - if the Elgato is completely fixed focus then it can't do the close-ups and I'd be interested to see how well it focuses on far away things. For some creators this isn't an issue but for some that would be a deal breaker. It's also likely you can fine tune focus better on the Razer for a sharper image.
    Do wish Razer would make the software better tho - I should point out you can still use synapse for live settings by simply deactivating the preview pane and using the OBS feed, but they've split the settings between synapse and "advanced" which uses the standard windows webcam dialogue - they should just have everything in the synapse window. Also their preset management could be a lot better.

  • @Holmes
    @Holmes 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    Using the Kiyo Pro personally, and since they've released the camera there's been a firmware update that has mostly resolved the focus breathing you mentioned in the comparison.
    Previously mine would have focus breathing occur once every 5-10 seconds, now it only readjusts when I shuffle in my seat a bit. Much better since the firmware update!

    Did the Kiyo Pro have the latest firmware (I think 1.05) for this test? It should help with the focus options. I grabbed the Kiyo Pro because it's down to $130 right now *Went down to 99.99 for Black Friday*

    I just bought Razer Kiyo Pro 2 days ago to replace my Logi C930e and I'm super happy with it, need to tweak it a bit tho. Razer has backlight compensation more as I saw on the video vs Logi StreamCam. Also Kiyo do the details job, uncompressed, and lastly, it's obviously like a big lens in your face hahahaha. Depending on how you stream tho, if you stream just to pop out your face and make it on small cam at side of screen while you gaming, just use your phone camera without green screen and it's all good. As Twitch DJ streamer, it takes a lot of effor too to offer great things. The Music, Visuals, Overlays, Equipments, everything. But Twitch community has been so amazing since I start stream from July 2020. Literally from Zero to Hero. Lastly, this Facecam makes me want to buy it too ahahaha but I already go the Kiyo Pro. If you want to compare Facecam to Kiyo Pro, watch this: th-cam.com/video/P05pJgQf8nU/w-d-xo.html

    Most of these products are missing the point. Yes I would love to install a new webcam for work but the chances of an IT dept letting you download the software is pretty much zero. If you cant find a way to customise a webcam outside of that software then most of us home workers just go ..meh .. so what?!

    • @JogBird
      @JogBird 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      with this cam, the settings are stored in the cam itself, its got built in memory, so you can set it up on your personal pc

    • @cykilledkenny
      @cykilledkenny 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Except that's not really the target audience for these webcams. Even though out the box without the software, they'd be way more than enough, probably even overkill, for work-purposes. And just out the box they're 100x better than what you'd get at work anyway. But, either way, these would be more for your streamers and content creators.
