Sold this car a few months ago to a local Diesel Mercedes enthusiast. Part of me regrets not doing the work myself, but it was really cool to see the potential of this car come alive! The Diesel 2JZ Om606 is such an awesome engine and i have never experienced one that was not stock! Seeing how awesome this felt on just an Evry Mod, single 62mm turbo was awesome!

No 300TD specifically because they have beefier rods and pistons the D by itself is trash
@@DaSquidLife Yeah sorry forgot the T. My father in law boosted the dieselpump and put on a bigger turbo on his w123 with over 40 psi and it took it like a champ

Straight pipe ruins the car, MB and noise are just a bad combination. Smooth pull + quiet, now that's something to look for.
Thats just the evry messing up the idle. It should idle normal with the evry off
@@dingdong2103 It's the tune, mate. Might sound to you like it's doing something abnormal but no. It's simply the tune. Plus, I'd say the owner knows what he's doing so why not let him do what he does worst and we'll just sit pretty and enjoy xDD

That's a pretty cool merc and it sounds kinda like a rotary when it's idling

How’s it sound like that
OM605 sounds much sweeter than OM606 and has pretty much the same potential. Fun starts with proper 8mm element pump :)
P-pump with 7-7.5mm, big cc elements, n-a engine cams, vnt turbo and you got nice working engine that revs 7000rpm and makes easy 400hp.
@@jopoviz 7k rpm wont add anything to the horsepower. And would only kill the reliability off the engine.
@@soutparkinator Well first 600hp om606 ever made had to rev 6k to get that power.
I was about to buy a W210 E290TD avantgarde in a nice spec with the OM605, was planning straightpipe and all that but it got sold :(

I have a 99 E300D with the OM606 as my daily driver - it’s honestly so fun to drive around town because people get so confused hearing diesel sounds from a white Benz. Mine literally looks almost exactly the same as the car in this video except mine has some rust growing sadly. Sweet video though!
Trevor you need om603 mechanical pump whit 7mm or 8mm elements.

Edc pump 7.5mm with original ecu is way better than mechanical pump

im from the netherlands and these mercs are realy realy common here because we live next to germany so yeah many flocked the country if you like but the gold star on the hood is a no go mate ugh grossed me out :P
In sweden alot of US do this kind of shit to 606/603 we have a brand of pumps built by like a Basement mekanic

The 8mm pump is sick! But they are prisey as fuck like 2000$ for an pump build by That dude. but they deliver. Look it up

The W210 Is a my favorite Benz, I would of put the E55 AMG wheels on it though. Either way nice ride.

Would like to see a om642 out of a ml320 on a stand alone ecu in something small, they cone with a pretty decent amount of power and torque and a decent size garret turbo. In a light chassis would be a decent build...
Only Did1 ecu can run a om642 on standalone. Otherwise it's imposibles
Om 648 with @blacksmokeracing specs and you have a 700hp diesel.

My old W210 E430 4m were such a blast to drive.
If you didnt check the speedo you were almost always speeding.
The dude I bought it from said don't get fooled by the car, you will speed and speed alot!
I caught myself doing 150-180km/h almost every damn time I was on the highway.
And thats just me thinking I'm cruising at 120km/h!

Great build but those wheels are questionable… would go small wheels with fat tires… or OG monoblocks
Seems lazy as hell compared to a 606 with a 603 mechanical pump with 8mm elements. I honestly think even my 7.5mm OM617 would wax this.
My w210 with the om606 has almost 500k miles on it. Great cars.

Once again people ruin perfectly fine German engineered ride height and make car too low. But merc with om606 is great. It is fine to hate me in internet, but lowered cars are like camber gang, clowns of the real life.

and then you can measure spool using a calendar

@@maxpower700 i actually daily a c250TD (OM605), currently running DSL1 and om606 turbo, but have a 7.5mm pump waiting for this weekend to put it in and an he221w on the way.
The beauty of these engines to me is making respectable power reliably. They are already very limited by their heat output so i don't see a point in making them problems by turning them up too much. Just enough to have good fun in a daily driver with good economy is the sweet spot for me.
I have OM606 with Holset HX40 Super, DPUK 7,7 pump, custom twinscroll exhaust manifold with build-in quickspool valve and I think it's best setup on my opinion for 500whp. It's nothing special and doesn't cost that much of money but when you want to go for HX55 or bigger then you really need to go fully in. Best 606 in never opened 606, never let the german gods out :D

I'd like more info on the other car, specifically the turbo setup. Thinking about doing one of these swaps on a truck and I like the idea of compound turbos for efficiency lol. Make lots of boost without sacrificing much spool.

Do the normal stand alone ecus work with diesels? I have been wanting to Cruze diesel swap a Chevy volt
There are some standalone diesel ecus, little different then normal ecu as most need to be able to run Common rail injectors, they have stand-alone fir these engines tho
For these you can buy an all mechanical pump and swap it into anything, no ECU/wiring.
Common rail diesel have 5 injection events per engine cycle and each event can be measured in nano seconds so your average stand alone ecu cannot handle it, there are a few common rail stand alone ecus starting to come out, pretty sure motec has one...
There is dsl 1 baldurs ecu
From where i come they call these superturbos, if the engine has more than 100kw per liter engine. In old mercs.

Nah, just throw in 606Na cam, 3.2cdi valve springs, ecu tune that will push the stock 6mm edc pump to 300hp and no need for shitty evry mod
