I remember when Milwaukee 1st released the "Rotary tool" they were showing that it was interchangeable with the Dremel tools. Its funny that your making this video.
VERY COOL! Thanks. I have a 15 year old Dremel that crapped out (couldn't get the brushes out), so I'm buying a new tool. I already have Milwaukee M12 power ratchets and a whole bunch of Dremel accessories, including the flex extension and adjustable chucks. I was concerned that my flex and chucks would go into the hopper if I bought Milwaukee. Now I can use them all, including my existing M12 batteries, by going Milwaukee rotary. THANKS AGAIN FOR HELPING ME FIGURE THIS OUT!!!
Thanks! I have an old Dremel with multiple accessories and 2 dead batteries. Since I use the M12 line of tools I was hoping the M12 rotary tool would work with my old accessories, but had a tough time finding info on this. Great to see this video.
Just bought my Milwaukee rotary tonight and will be getting the dremel flex shaft in a couple days. Thanks for the tip, exactly what I was needing to fix some curb rash on some wheels and use it to polish the ribs and wheel lip too after I remove all the clear coat off them.
I just found this out a couple days ago as I tried my flexishaft on my newly purchased m12 rotary. It’s awesome. Bummer the batteries aren’t interchangeable. I just watch a video trying all the batteries on the Dremel 8260 and Milwaukee doesn’t work 😢. My 8260 just came today so I have both. Milwaukee will be at work and Dremel will be at home. I got a deal on the Milwaukee. I go it for $89 with a free battery at the depot. I have another 12v Milwaukee tool so it was a perfect deal!
Great video, thank you! This is awesome! I just picked up the brushless M12 and happen to have those accessories for an old Dremel! Appreciate the pro tip!

I just bought the Milwaukee rotary tool and the Dremel flex shaft. The nut that came with the flex shaft does not screw onto the tool. Seems like the threads might be different.
I think it is widely known that Dremel N Milwaukee are owned by the same parent company. Someone has probably already pointed this out in the comments but just in case here it is again. The Milwaukee m12 rotary tool is dremel 8220 with milwaukee branding.
Nice. I used this once i hope they make a fuel version soon. i find the collet doesn’t grab the accessories very well. Tried it at different places and still would slip maybe i will give this a go. mind you i was trying to cut the hat from a rotor on a RV🤣 it did it after 2 batteries and 3 discs.
Now you're going to need a deeper Packout to house everything. I'm suspecting you may need to buy more Packout cases though! (not that we need more excuses but they come in handy sometimes).
I want to know if the Milwaukee rotary tool will work in the dremel workstation? I have a specific need for the workstation but I only want to have one rotary tool and I really want the Milwaukee
This is a relief to hear, I ordered all the Dremel accessories to go with my Milwaukee rotary tool anyways and was just crossing my fingers that they would work when they showed up from Amazon. Should we assume that the 90° adapter also works?
I think Milwaukee didn't do the accessory thing, as Dremel had it pretty squared away. And this tool came ~2014, when Milwaukee wasn't nearly in the accessory market as they are now. Nice of you to point on the part # on the adjustable collet nut. A few HD's I've been in just received huge Ryobi rotary tool & accessory displays. Tons of bits and such.
Cool. I knew about the chuck accessory. I've used on my dremel-like tools in the past and use in on my Milwaukee rotary tool. But I didn't think to try the flex shaft as well.
I done this year's ago but with menards miles craft brand and it works great I love that I can carve anywhere ! Pretty all there parts are changeable btw everyone
Will Milwaukee m18 drywall cutout tool work with roto zip accessories? Mainly the circle cutter. Or dose milwaukee have a circular cutter for the drywall cutout tool?
can you attach the 678-01 circle cutter & straight edge guide to the milwaukee dremel? I see everyone is saying that milwaukee made it to where you can use any dremel accessory but just want to double check with everyone before making the purchases
I have a third party drill press adapter inside that works well. I would imagine it would. If you buy it from home Depot you could return it if ifwont work.
You've got a great thing going, dude. Good video. If I may make a minor criticism: get your words and terms right. For example: It's not an "adjustable one", it's a Keyless Chuck or Keyless Collett. It will help your viewers to keep up with you. Anyway, really like what you are doing! Thanks!
I thought about that though didn't try it. I didn't pick up the M12 version I picked up the new wireless Dremel tool with Bosch changer & it's more batteries. M12 would have saved me money though wasn't sure if it was going to work and I needed something to use that day. I might get the M12 since my M12 batteries are always charged.

The same size Dremel cordless has a larger switch easily accessed by your thumb, but stiff enough not to accidentally turn it off or on. I keep the M12 tool in the toolbox and use it in the field because the battery is the same as my other tools but never use it at home.
I have the Dremel and use it at work but the Milwaukee makes sense for the added battery life the only problem with the Dremel for me is the battery life I’m already using both hands for control and the the flex head is a special use case I don’t see anyone who doesn’t do flooring having a use for the flex head on a cordless I have one and use it on the cordless but that because i have highly specialised use case for occasion anyone else is wasting money and time
I used a few on my Dremel and I will use a flex on my m12. I don’t use it enough to care about the reduction in battery life but I also want to hold less weight in my hand and I also made a mount to hold the m12 one

Thanks for making this video! I have an M12 and was trying to find out if dremel accessories were interchangeable with it. Huge help!
The right angle attachment works great also!
Yeah I love it
I bought the flex shaft for mine and was best decision I made! I have to get that quick chuck now.
Very informative. Thank you for the class 😊
Thanks.
I wonder which one has better performance (power, torque, battery power, etc.) between Milwaukee M12 2525 Rotary vs Dremel 8260.
Good to know!!! I have Dremel stuff that I have owned for years.
The more you know
Now I have justified reason to get on M12 platform! My only concern was the compitability of flex shaft
Yeah I love mine.
I have had Dremel previously, complete kits with 90 degree & THE CABLE. YES, All accessories are a perfect match to this Milwaukee tool.

I just bought the Milwaukee rotary tool and the Dremel flex shaft. The nut that came with the flex shaft does not screw onto the tool. Seems like the threads might be different.
Mine did , all of my accessories are from the Dramal line
@@JakeOfALL I bought the exact same thing. Don't understand why it won't screw on. Don't want to force it. 😬🙄

That's cool that it works! Once you put the flex shaft on you definatly made the point. I was waiting for something not to work from your facial expressions during the process but looks like theyre interchangeable. FYI any accessory with a 1/8" shaft will fit in the collet. How about that M12 sander/polisher? Any tips on that one? I wonder if there are any Roloc©mounts that will thread on the shaft? Thanks for the info

Does Dremel have a longer flex shaft? Like 6’ or so, so you can hang the shaft from a hook about the work space and have it all clean.
You would lose too much kinetic energy down that kind of length. It wouldn't be very effective and more prone to problems like slippage.
Good point
You could probably make an adapter but like the other reply says you might be better off just getting a commercial unit then
