Thanks for the info! Do you expect the battery performance to improve after a week or so of use on the whole S23 range? Will the phone improve its battery performance once it learns your phone usage patterns? TechDroider on TH-cam has done a Samsung S23 Ultra vs iPhone 14 Pro Max / S22 Ultra / Xiaomi 13 Pro / OnePlus 11 / Pixel 7 Pro BATTERY DRAIN TEST. Some of the results for the total time to drain the batteries were: iPhone 14 Pro Max - 11 hr 25 min S23 Ultra - 11 hr 15 min S22 Ultra - 9 hr 43 min So the S23U lasted 92 mins, or 15.7% longer than the S22U. This was the longest TechDroider had ever seen a 1440 display last in a battery drain test. He also recorded the temps of the phones throughout the test, which were interesting.

what you said about the slap in the face offering 500$ for the s22 ultra is kinda like a slap in their own faces too.. i mean it's their own product that they're saying has depreciated so much so soon. i am expecting my s23 ultra on the 17th as well. i have used iphones since smart phones came out and have been very happy with them, but now i want to try something new. your videos have helped me decide that, thanks !
I have a feeling since they did not raise the prices in the USA and offer 512 vs. 256, they held back on trade ins to make up for the prices the same as last year. Just a theory but it's my theory.
I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to jump to the 1TB. It looks like it has faster Ram. I'm planning on keeping the phone for the 4 full yr update cycle. What do you think?

Thanks for the video. With 512GB for the same price as 256GB and what I paid for my S22U, it is tempting. They'll give me $500 for my 10 months old S22U. With nearly 1800 photos, I like this camera a lot. I am keeping hold of it for a while yet, though, as I am outside the US.

Great chan. I also pre-ordered the S23 Ultra for full price because I'll eat my 512GB S22 Ultras before I trade them in for $500. If I can't sell them, I'll just give them to family or friends. The deals are definitely terrible this year. The SD8G2 power efficiency tests on other phones seem worth the upgrade for me. I don't game much but I run a lot of stuff in the background and multi-task heavily, so even a few more hours, SoT would be great, and hopefully, no more thermal throttling when multi-tasking. I have to run at 60hz a lot of the time just so my keyboard doesn't lag when running milk multiple apps. I'm probably still going to have to carry a power bank for going out the whole day, but anything would be an improvement. If the S22U didn't have a junk chip, I probably wouldn't bother upgrading since I'm happy with everything else on the S22U. Maybe we'll skip next year depending on what they upgrade, and the Fold 5 is the same form factor as the old ones. Can't wait for the 17th to see if it was worth it.
@TechOdyssey Nice, I'm thinking if getting the phantom black S23!! Sounds like a capable model this time. A budget flagship that fits the bill for those who want an entry model in Samsung's ecosystem.

I was hoping to upgrade. Technically my carrier is giving me the amount it cost to pay out my 22 Ultra but 500 of it is Samsung credit this year so won't come off my bill. So no trade in this year I'll have to wait till next year or see if they do a different deal in a couple of months
I think we’ve come to a point where you can’t do much with the outside. Considering how many rectangular phones with cameras have been released over the years, especially with android, many of the configurations have already been done.
They didn’t raise the price? Don't know where you're buying the S23, but Verizon has the S23 ultra on their website for $1399. A $200 increase over the S22 Ultra from last year.
I've had the S10+ since 2019. Last year, I tried the S22 Ultra for a month. I felt the battery was very underwhelming for much I paid. $1700 for the 1TB model. After selling it on eBay, I bought a Certified Renewed S10+. I've had it for 11 months, and I'm debating if I should upgrade to the S23 Ultra or wait for the S24 series. For longevity, higher internal storage works better for me. Do you guys think I'm due for an upgrade?
In my opinion, the only group of people that samsung screwed over is s22ultra owners like myself. I know they can do better than $500 because they had better way better deals with older phones just one year prior. I'll just have to wait for future sales to get rid of this phone I guess.

$190 for my Note 9. I'd keep it but the screen has burn in and was already replaced once. Doubtful I'll ever need to use it again but $190 does seem to be on the low side. Maybe $250 would be a better price.
Before I ordered the S23 Ultra I checked the Pixel 7 Pro price one more time and it was almost as much as the Samsung to get the 512GB so that really pushed me toward the Samsung. I guess I'm just more comfortable with Samsung. If I would have been able to save 400 bucks then maybe I would have tried out the Pixel 7 Pro.

I can notice immediately. One has a flat screen lol SMH I loved the curve. The s22 ultra is perfect imo. Now we get a s23 ultra flat screen. And idc what people say. In person when you see the phone your going to realize it's a flat screen essentially. They said 30 percent less curve than the s22 ultra. But imo it's more like 85 percent to 90 percent less curve. Might as well go full flat then. But hey it's my opinion and some will like the flat screen. But I like the s22 ultra it's curve screen makes it elegant looking.
I just sent the Galaxy back to Samsung for full refund. It's amazing with all this tech for the camera, the insane cost etc and still we have shutter lag. I'll look at Galaxy S24 Ultra next, depending of course Apple doesn't bring out something with iPhone 15.
If I preorder the base 256 storage S23 Ultra I know it will be a free upgrade to 512. But will the RAM be 8 or 12? I keep hearing about the free storage upgrade but wondering if it will also apply to RAM or not?

I think we're honestly at a point were these phone companies need to start releasing be wmodels every 2 years. Small upgrades just ain't worth it anymore as tech advancements are peaking
Tempting, I'm not gonna lie. 😃 Especially at the price.
I got the Ultra 512g in Red!!! ❤️I am trading my burgundy one in tho. It's a 128g and I didn't pay much for it since I traded in my S22 for it during that sale last May. But having a better version with more storage and in red? Yes I'll go for it.
$190 for my Note 9. I'd keep it but the screen has burn in and was already replaced once. Doubtful I'll ever need to use it again but $190 does seem to be on the low side. Maybe $250 would be a better price.
Does the scene optimiser setting for camera work well or is it better quality to turn off ?
You're my favourite reviewer. Thanks, buddy
You are better than MKBHD
Wow. Thanks. That's a big compliment.
@@TechOdyssey he does mostly apple
MKBHD does everything really.
@@MatthewMoscotto he kind of crucified the pixel 6A for not having 60 refresh rate screen while he praised other phones that don't have it like Apple being more expensive as well. He's okay for the most part, but his bias does come out here and there
@@MatthewMoscotto I honestly think he is all about Apple
Love the reviews keep them going always on point. I do wonder if going to s23 over the pixel 7 pro I love my 6 pro but trade in is 600 tempting what are your thoughts on this I think the s23 ultra is a leap ahead and with the ecosystem like buds and galaxy watch 4 there is so much to like for compatibility
Well bit the bullet and preordered the s23 ultra with the free upgrade in space it was a no brainier for the 512 in green can't wait to see what this puppy can do
Really good content, sick video man!
Glad you liked it!
I just got my phone this morning ❤️ in the UK. My boss ordered hisa few days before me and he's getting it on the 17th 😂
Whoops. Lol. Lucky you 😂
Is it true that Samsung is rumored to start giving more towards trade-in? There are a couple videos on utube suggesting that Samsung is thinking to give more towards trade in
There is always expandable storage! Just connect to your laptop or other type of computer, or carry around a small drive. I would guess 99 percent of people in this-day-age travel with a laptop.
I got a small SSD from sabrent, I don't even miss the SD card
Ordered my ultra through google fi with the rebate. I'm upgrading from my trusty 9-year-old nexus 6. Should be a noticeable improvement. lol
8k video sounds cool but I think most will stick to 4k
Does the s23 ultra still make that sound when you shake it side to side a little the ois thing thanks
Received my FedEx tracking number for 2-15 Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra😊
Sweeeet!
is 809euro trade-in for my S22U 256GB enough? the price of the new S23U 512GB is 1400euro ... what do you think?
I have the S22 Ultra and still ordered the S23 Ultra.
Me Too, No Way I'm loosing 1 of my S22 Ultras for a S23 Ultra, I keep My Phones!
Thank you TechOdyssey!
Any time!
I like his honest reviews
Is it true that we get the galaxy watch 5 with the S23?
Maybe in some markets. Not in the USA.
@@TechOdyssey ahh, cause some reviewers say they get the Galaxy Watch 5, some says galaxy buds, but yeah I used my credit for the watch 4, well, we'll see when they start shipping
@@manifestationofjason4726yeah. There seems to be a lot of different deals depending on what country or market. In the USA we don’t get it.
@@TechOdyssey I got one last question? If you've gotten your S23 Ultra as yet, does it have the IR blaster? That's a pretty useful tool for me personally
@@manifestationofjason4726 I haven't got mine yet but no, it doesn't have an IR blaster. Sorry.
Look at the prices for 1tb. Did it really not go up?
Do you think going for the 1tb is overkill?
if I could afford it I'd go for it
What would you use it for? I think that's the better question.
I take alot of pictures..I'm currently still using my s20 and I have 512mb on that and it's at 70% memory used right now..I think I might just go for the 512mb
You must certainly know that the top iPhone has a better screen! Yes, it is a Samsung screen, but it’s specked to Apple’s tuning.
I have a 512 gb note 20 ultra, is it worth upgrading to the s23 ultra?
I think it is. People say that the battery efficiency is so close to iphone level efficiency and the ram performance is impressive as well.
@@andycortez9316 You are right .....i grt mine yestrday 1tb version and it is amazing
@@andycortez9316 thanks for the input, I might need to reconsider and pre order the s23 with the free memory upgrade while I can
@@igormatisorovic52 wow you got it really early thats crazy! I want to get one myself just not now because the trade in price for my s22utra is too low right now. Like what techodyssey said in this video, $500 for an s22ultra is not a good deal.
@@andycortez9316 I get 750 Euro for my S22 Ultra and finnaly I add 800 euro more and I get S23 Ultra 1 Tb version
How about heat and power efficiency?
Hey bruh, love your channel. Keep it up
I just sent the Galaxy back to Samsung for full refund.
It's amazing with all this tech for the camera, the insane cost etc and still we have shutter lag.
I'll look at Galaxy S24 Ultra next, depending of course Apple doesn't bring out something with iPhone 15.
Thank you for all the info.
You bet!
Just ordered th3 cream color, since that's the only left on Google fi.
Saved over £400 by buying s23 ultra from Samsung direct than having a contract thro tesco, Then sorted my own sim contract out.
Got it for $400 by trading in my Note 20 Ultra 5G. And got the free 512gb upgrade too.
quick share instead of airdrop
Does Boom Beach support ray tracing? 😃
I wish. 😂😂😂
If I preorder the base 256 storage S23 Ultra I know it will be a free upgrade to 512. But will the RAM be 8 or 12? I keep hearing about the free storage upgrade but wondering if it will also apply to RAM or not?
All 512gb model got 12gb ram
u needed pick 512gb model and when u go to cart it knocks price of what i did when upgrading and 512gb comes with 12gb ram
My phone's in the mail, arriving tomorrow. 👍
Nice one thanks 😎🇮🇪👏
Thanks, Mary!
12 days.! Note 20 to 23 ultra 512.. . Just call it a note keep the smaller versions the s line.. .
Cant go with iphone anymore since they got rid of the physical sim card.
I wait few months for the price drop then I will go take s23 ultra to replace my current garbage s22 ultra snap gen 1 with shortest battery life of all time.
I went to At&t returned disappointed ☹️☹️☹️
You get $1000 in bill credits, but is it worth it ? Not in my opinion.
Even after trading in S22,
The most Basic plan to qualify for S23 ultra, $77 / month (for 36 months)
Defeats the purpose.
I pay $30 for cricket, and I am happy with it.
Well another beta Monday, wonder what it's going to bring?
MBs or GBs? It's Giga brotha.
man u can buy icloud or google disk for nothing...
I have the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G, and there are going to give me $1,000 toward the new S23 Ultra. What do you think about that offer?
Who?
