You have some great projects going on in your shop Gavin, it's a shame the Escort wasn't prepped properly as the actual finish on the paint is quite good, I don't know why someone didn't do the filler or primer correctly as even I know when you need to strip an old car like that to bare metal then epoxy primer it and do all your bodywork over that. At least now it's getting done the correct way so it will last for years, we can't afford to loose anymore of these old Escorts they are true classics👌👍
The Escort reminds me off when i was an apprentice back in 70's we used repaint Mk1 escorts for fun especially Blue mink because Ford went on strike and left cars in primer outside . They micro-blistered for fun generally on the roof and upper panels . Love your work buddy a man after my own heart and i'm still hard at it 👍
Another cracking video ! - Really enjoyed seeing all the projects you've got going on and the different stages you go through . Love the attention to detail and pride in your work that you guys have ❤
Wow can see what was bad with it in certain light and angles, good you are taking it back to bear metal and fixing it properly and colour correct it be awesome when it's done 👍🏽👍🏽
Busy busy Gav lots going on! I’m surprised how good that escort was when you took the paint off seems such a shame that the body was so nice and someone never put the time into the painting! Still she’s gonna be pretty again real soon looking forward to seeing it done nice job 👍
Nice to see, takes me back. The guy who taught me used to work on those at Boreham Essex for the Ford Rally Team Made me laugh as he said on a couple of times he had a small run in the paint. What did you do Gorge. Put a sticker over it as it will come back smashed up lol
Fascinating as usual Gavin, regarding the Escort job, I was still a bit confused as to whether you are or are not going to paint the interior parts to match ( or not?) or will you just be scuffing it up and putting the new base colour over the existing possibly?
@philtucker1224 hi mate yes we going to paint the whole car inside and out but only striping the Exterior back to metal the rest of the paint inside underneath is sound so we will just be pointing over the top of this.

@bigsquatchsasfoot1964 It's such a shine, because the pint finish was really quite nice.
It was just what was lurking underneath.🫣

Russell L's Mexico looks like its got quiet fresh paint... when was in last re-finished?
@@andrewlitchfield4843 I'm not quite sure when it was done.To be honest and yes, the pint did look nice.
Great work
Does the epoxy primer kill the rust ?
@antonyfarnaby5192 no but once the rust has been removed it really helps with keeping it at bay
