To the people arguing in the comments, I would say, men, a lot of men are funny, that's true. But I would also say a lot of women are also funny and a lot of non-binary people. There's so much funny to go around, sort of. No one is funnier than anyone, like specifically. I would say there's no need to make comparisons and I would say no one is funnier than anyone. I would say everyone is equally funny.

As a man, Katie is wrong here! Katie is clearly funnier than everyone.
Katie always talks like she has a speech jammer pointed at her 😭
As a man, I've worked 2 people that do believe that men are funnier than women. Both were men and had roughly the same sense of humor as a 3rd grader. Humor often relies on empathy and understanding, and my general theory is people that don't understand what's beyond their experience and perspective tend not to find people different from them funny
Sounds like they’re outing themselves as males who don’t speak to women much
Comedy is subjective and it can be harder to get past the barriers of social norms and stereotypes for most people. Because of societal norms men seeing a woman doing comedy is an immediate turn off due to the mental walls they put up in their own heads. Katie is half right about comedy being something everyone is capable of but if it’s not the right audience then it can go one or two ways. There’s no such thing as “who’s the funniest” because it’s subjective therefore it could change tomorrow or in the next 10 years depending on our social climate. For example you could see or hear a recording of a comedian from 50 years ago and not find them funny at all even though they might’ve been known as the funniest guy in their generation.
Ps. In all honesty c’mon dude you should know by now women are newer to professional comedy than men so comparing the two isn’t exactly a “fair” comparison. There’s plenty of time for them to get better and catch up to the men’s centuries long head start in um….EVERYTHING.

I have a dry sense of humor and men like that I’ve noticed always think I’m serious which I find pretty funny so I guess it evens out.

the casual misogyny of half these comments saying that men really are funnier than women 😭😭😭 girl you’re on the dropout yt page ur in the wrong place
Just like when it comes to things like height, hand-eye coordination, color blindness, migraines, taste sensitivity, and body temp - the difference is true on a macro, species-wide level, not on an individual level.
That doesn't mean there are not funny women or that a large portion of women are not funny. Men are funnier on average, but men in general tend to lean towards extremes in most things - so just as there are more funny men, there are also more awkward AF men with 0 charisma or timing. It's the same thing as, say, intelligence. Most women tend to be average or slightly above, while the majority of men are dumbasses... but geniuses take up more of the minority for men than for women.
I dont think you understand what that word means or when it applies.
Statistically easy to proof, men are indeed generally funnier.

The amount of sexism in this comment section is appalling. Firstly, comedy is entirely subjective, and just because YOU dont find one woman funny, doesnt mean the entire gender is unfunny. You're just generalising so that you can act like your sexism is founded in logic, when it isn't.
you are very much missing the point

@@RipePineapplesalso great comment btw
@@tyronebigboned6078 they didn't, really. The statement "women aren't funny" is a generalization and therefore about averages.
*on average* women aren't as funny as men. That doesn't mean there are no funny women or that men can't be boring. There's literally hundreds of millions of funny women on earth at any given time, there's just more funny men comparatively.
It is often used as a means to call an individual not funny, but that's a statement of confirmation that the average is true.
god I want every dropout cast member to become insanely famous and make movies together like the Adam Sandler SNL friend group
The irony of this question after Katie just delivering the most banger of a comedic piece ON THE CUFF!!!
The answer: cats are the funniest
Funny is not restricted to gender... you got this.
correct, but there are significantly less Non-binary people. so you're less likely to find a funny one of those over a female or male. Also there are significantly less women that WANT to be comedians, so you're more likely to find male comedians that are funny over female ones that are funny.
But then if you found a non binary person that was funny, you could say 100% of the non binary comedians I've watch are absolutely hilarious. which isn't true for men or women comedians in the slightest.
@@TheShockingShanewhat are you talking about😭😭 pulling shit out of your ass
Statistical averages don't come from hunches, they come from data. There is a vast ocean between pseudoscience and science, just like there is a vast ocean between your "Statistical logic", and actual statistics.
And even if you're right, you're missing the point. Which is that at the end of the day it doesn't matter who is objectively more funny, because objectivity is observed in a vacuum of subjectivity.
If a tree falls in a forest, it objectively makes a sound. But what does the semantics of pointing that out do for society, when you're literally missing the forest for the trees.
i.e. what is the point measuring the quantity of what sex or gender is funnier?
The answer is that there isn't. Or in other words the joke is you. The forest is that the type of person to logically debate bro the reason men are funnier, and you are the tree.
Statistically there are a lot of unfunny non-binaries in this comment section. Unfortunate but seems they aren't funny 😔
You people are so afraid to say the truth, jeez. Men on average are funnier than women. And that's okay. And non binary people? Those are also just people that are men or women 🙄

simply say "ok, tell me a joke"
There are a lot of really funny male comedians and honestly probably more men go into comedy than women. But in my day to day life the funniest people I know are mostly all women.
More men go into comedy (from my pov) because of the still somewhat present idea of women not being funny, whilst it is untrue generally, people will judge an advert for a female comedian more than a male comedian
@@purp4168 for sure, there's so many fields that men gatekeep from women and bully them out of then wonder why there aren't as many women in those same fields
@@purp4168 and also ideas like if a woman isn't good at something it's because she's a woman, as if it's inherent for women not to be good at something like comedy or math for example, but if a male isn't good at something it's just because he specifically isn't good at it and it doesn't get painted as a male issue
Computers and tech stuff started pretty equal with women and men in the early days. However women got pushed out and it got made into a boys club and its taken a while to get qoman back into thoses spaces but their still alot of sexism in that sphere.
I think humor is less based on gender and more based on life experience and what values were instilled in you as a child. Also, how traumatized you were growing up - that seems to be a big one.
also why is everyone in the comments taking this so seriously.
I've always find women funnier. It's about perspective and relatability.
honestly this is me in an interview. why is katie so relatable to me 😂
I wanted to know the context so i went and watched the ep and Lily bought a 1000$ PR lessons from dropout's PR person ( the blonde lady ) x)

Try not to get splinters from that fence, katie!
I thought Katie was gonna land with no one is funnier than me
“I would say they haven’t met a lot of men”
If I were Katie: plenty of people are funny, but not enough to break me on breaking news
Guys (nonbinary term) genuinely there’s something’s that’s so truly comedy about everything katie shares with us every time we get to see her on screen. Being truly funny without being mean is so rare and I love her for who she is!
I think it comes down to relatabilty. Men make jokes that other men find funny and vice versa. But, a good joke is a good joke, and katie is pretty damn funny.
Humor is subjective. What I find funny isn't necessarily the same thing you're going to find funny, because we have different lived experiences.
That being said, Katie is objectively funny.
Some people in the comments are as much of a punchline as this setup 😂 good on everyone to call them out, I’ll enjoy my popcorn while I read these
I feel like there's simply more pressure for men to learn how to be funny, which results in men on average being more funny than women.
There's however nothing inherent about it and women have nothing stopping them from being just as if not more funny than men. That said there's obviously a relatability bias, so men usually find other men funnier than women and vice versa. If you look at the cast of dropout I can't say that any gender is funnier than the other, just that I like some people more than others
omg which dropout show is this i need to watch it
Funny ≠ gender
I love watching Katie talk. It's just 😐🤌🫴👌👋✋️🤏☝️
All the women I know in my life are funny. Not just comedians or celebrities, but also normal people i see in my day to day life. Whether it's witty, stupid, sarcastic, dry humor, dark humor, improv, conversational, you name it. They all have different types of humor and they always make the room laugh.
i know i could never be a comedian cuz my response would've just been "joe mama"
I would say humour is inherently subjective. And comedy isn’t gendered
I love Katie lol she always has me rolling

Easy. "What makes you think that?" And "how so?"
I'd say "you don't know Tao then"
I would say: knock knock who's there
I would say Elyse Willems.
On a more genuine note, I think confidence is a big part of comedy and men are just able to be more confident in our society
she's right, nobody is funnier than anyone else because comedy is situation-based and audience-dependent.
Honestly im my humblest opinion… I would say a lot of men are funny, that’s true but I would also say a lot of women are funny, and a lot of non I a non binary people, there’s just so much funny to go around. No ones funnier than anyone else specifically, and I would see there is no need to make comparisons and that no one is funnier than anyone else.
A comedic comrade!
If you want some historical context behind where the stereotype that women are not funny comes from, it's basically connected to pseudoscience and eugenics. Old "scholars" basically theorized that women were deficient in every sense, but that included logic and thinking. They said that since women basically couldn't handle logic and thinking that they couldn't handle humor as well.
Same with the stereotypes about women being super emotional or fragile. At one point they said we shouldn't be educated because our brains couldn't handle it and it would literally make us sick or kill us. Obviously none of this is true. Just adding some historical context because people still tend to believe this stereotype and history shapes the present.
I feel like the reason the stereotype is around, is cause women seem more reserved. When women feel comfortable they are way more funny then if they tried to be funny. But thats kinda the same with everyone I think. Its just easier for guys to be less reserved at times.
It's more of a cultural thing. Women were seen as the caretakers of the home and not much more for the longest time. They weren't really allowed to be comedians, actors, athletes, etc, in the way that men were because that wasn't the social norm at the time.
Definitely a good point. I've known a ton of hilarious woman who werent necessarily "funny" until you knew them for a while, because they hadn't opened up yet
Expected Katie to just anti joke.
"Oh yeah, men are way funnier. Next question?"
Humor is subjective. She’s technically not wrong. Maybe if you’re “not” funny now, you would have killed it in the 1800’s
Don’t see race Katie is back!!!!
Money well spent.
What’s the premise of this show?
Damn, that's so good.
Feel like I'm missing a bit of context here
Katie is very funny, I clicked on this video because I've seen her skits, I know I like her humor, but... this clip isn't... funny, ya know?
and I don't even think she was trying to be funny (just because someone is a comedian doesn't mean they have to make jokes 100% of the time), so I really don't get why this clip was cut...
obviously a lot of people here disagree with me, and even in the clip people were laughing. but I just don't get it
I’d say men kinda goofy little guys that do really age past 10 in a lot of ways so that’s where the funny comes from.
I half expected “no one is funnier than anyone, except me I’m the funnier than men and also a woman”
Why would you ever use less hands
I gotta say as a man the worst and most common comedians are men who told some bigoted jokes to their friends got some laughs and decided to make that everyone else’s problem. So I really wouldn’t say men are inherently funnier by any means.
How much weed did they smoke?
All funny matters
She had me...until she didn't 😂
Guys she can’t see gender
To the people who use the "statistics says..." argument against this:
You can't use people as stats and claim it as facts. They're not objects that can be measured accurately and the results are always biased.
What measurements do you rely on to make these results? What group of people did you survey? In what general area? You chose what measurements and instruments to use so that it fits your bias.
Humans are not the pH scale. They're not thermometers. They're not speedometers. Feelings are not facts so don't present it like it is.
But i guess you feel the need to find a way to get attention to prove the world just how smart and right you are compared to everybody you disagree with ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don’t get it didn’t even make me smile
Katie broke?!?
What if some men are funnier to some men and some women are funnier to some women and then some women are funnier to some men and some men are funnier to some women and the sometimes no one is funny and you regret coming out tonight.
With the amount of trauma women go through on the daily, they are funny as fuck dudes. You can’t beat personal experience.
Sure you may have problematic jokes but when you can land a joke about something fucked up that happened to you it’s so silly.
Of course there are specific demographics for that, it’s hard to land those jokes with people who haven’t had those experiences. Not to mention men can also go through trauma, and I’ve found the funniest people I know have gone through the most fucked up shit. Both men and women and others. When you can go through shit like that and come out smiling and giggling then you got it set
What is the premise of this show? Why are the other contestants cracking up?
everyone got to spend 1000 dollars on something, someone got this person in particular pr training!
No some people are funnier then other people. But its not tied to gender.
But having to say that on the spot is hard so I get that answer. Couldnt had done it better myself probably xD
@@tbug50”it’s not tied to gender but it is tied to gender” what do you gain from these kinds of comments?
I don't believe having different chromosones makes someone inherently funnier. I think it comes down to more of how they were raised and what they experienced growing up. It could be that men generally grow up trying harder to be funny due to the nature of boys being boys which gives them a better foundation when it comes to just knowing how to get laughs. It could also be that societal norms tend to have women act more reserved which may hinder their funny bone getting as good as a foundation.
Tldr; I just think it matters how you grow up.
