3+ ways to PAINT realistic mortar brick, scale models

Whether it is an enamel or acrylic brick coloured base, the opposite can be laid down in a ultra thinned down paint called a "wash". The wash will sink into all the crevices exposing just the brick surface when dry.
It is important to keep your material flat until dry otherwise the wash will run. Try experimenting with different amounts of thinner / water to get varying results. Not happy? Spray over it and try again.
