Finally finished putting our Lexus RX400H all back together today, after following your instructions to replace the rusted lower hybrid battery case with a good condition used one, and after fault checking all the battery cells etc. Followed all your instructions in this and a couple of your other videos, plus some input from a few other TH-camrs, and saved ourselves over $5,000. Seriously. All because you took the trouble to make and post these videos of yours. We owe you guys, so look out for inbound goodies, and a huge THANK YOU for your help.
Thank you for posting this video! I am usually not a do it yourselfer. However, I found this video helpful in me being able to replace the hybrid battery on my vehicle. My 2006 Lexus RX 400H hybrid battery failed in December 2023 at approximately 330K miles. I purchased a used one from the junkyard from a vehicle that had 150K miles. This video made it possible for me to do it myself and save a lot of money. Once again, I am usually not one to work on my own vehicle, but this video was very clear on what steps to take to complete the job. Thank you!!!
How much did you pay for the used junkyard battery? This is very promising as I have 123k on my 2008 RX 400h and I just want to know if I should keep it for the long haul.
You mentioned in 10:37 that you would be making a video on how to rebuild the battery and have the link in the description. Did you ever get around to it?
After you install your new battery kit, Is the 400H ready to start and drive, or will you have to do something like clear the codes. Great video Thank you.
. Hi, Great video, thank you. Appreciate for sharing your expertise. After the installation of the new battery kit, do we have to reprogram the vehicle computer using a OBD scanner to make it ready to start? Or is it ready to start after the installation?
@@PalmettoBatteryPros any videos on what you have to do once the new hybrid battery is installed or should it be just ready to roll? I have a guy putting in a used battery for me and once they got it all hooked up it’s not turning the gas engine on still and is saying something about needing to be taken to a dealership to have the hybrid battery charged directly.
Low miles for that year, but the hybrid batteries age out too and this one is due for another battery based on year, if it hasn’t already been replaced.

@ShockwaveDJ
I paid $734, including tax for the used hybrid battery.

Any idea where to find fuel filter of Lexus RX 400H, I remove back driver seat there is Hybrid battery, didn't see fuel filter there.
I am not sure, I only work on batteries
Does this apply to both the Highlander hybrid 2010 & 2008 models? Can I used a 2010 battery on a 2008 vehicle?
Your links to the Shop Hybrid Batter Rebuild Kits are not working 😞I don't know why?
We do not import these cells anymore and direct customers to GreenTech Auto.
After you install your new battery kit, Is the 400H ready to start and drive, or will you have to do something like clear the codes. Great video Thank you.
Not likely, codes should be gone.

Brilliant explanation and super helpful really also these batteries are very easy to replace as compared to dummmy cars I mean tesla’s lol 😂
We are glad it helped. Thank you for your comment.
Thank you. Its not hard at all.
Thank you!!
Is it okay to test the battery was installed correctly before putting all the trim and seat components on?
Yes, and highly recommended. I always test it before I button it back up.

This is an easy one. No side airbags or seat recline lever in the rear.
How much for the new battery bro?
We have this battery rebuild kit for $3650 plus shipping
How many miles on this RX in the video
2007 Lexus rx 400h hybrid SUV ...
125.000 miles for $7200 Silver
Looks great is this a good buy or just purchase a Rx 350 and avoid Hybrid......?
RR

The video was less than 20 minutes. Toyota charges 4-5 hours of labor I heard. Is that true?
Helloo!! I would like to buy new batteries for a TOyota Highlander 2010, where can I buy them in the US? can those be shipped?
We can have delivered, takes about two weeks to arrivr
Can the original batteries be removed from the casing and install new batteries in the same casing?
Yes, that is what we did here.
@Palmetto Battery Pros
Sorry my bad I ment the 3 small casing that the battery cells are clamped in, not the big casing that everything goes into
How would you recommend discharging the battery if there is still a voltage present?
Not needed or recommended
Theses cars do not die
They are rare through my shop.
That is beyond ridiculous
