    Adding modifications to bikes, whether for practical reasons or styling is always down to individual taste of course. However, I can honestly say I love every single thing you've done to this bike. I'm looking to get a CRF250L soon to sit alongside my Pan European in the garage and found this video very useful and have just subscribed, thanks :)

    Agree seat concepts seat I can ride all day comfortably instead of butt going numb in less than an hour! The 3.1 or actually holds 3.4 gallon Acebris Gas tank install really helps me out riding over a hundred miles to and from work daily. I don't have to stop for fuel nearly as much now, It is nice but not required. The seat is a must do along with some bar risers and some pro tapers! I have my crfl all modded out and plan on keeping it for ever! I will upgrade suspension, at my weight it don't need to be done, but I ride too aggressively for soft suspension, and it certainly holds me back from riding nearly as fast as I am capable of on the really rough technical off road. I raced motocross race bikes for well over a decade though. A friend that did his suspension says it is awesome now and is a must now that he knows what its like, but he weighs more too,so I think I will do mine eventually. Maybe even a big bore after 40000 miles once this engine gets tired we will see? I hear the 305cc is not too reliable for some reason though.. It would turn my modded out bike into the perfect bike though, That little extra power would keep me from wanting a second bike like XR600r XR650r or 400r street legal of coarse. the 650's are hard to find ,but I just missed a 600r with every modification you could want including Pumper carb and modern suspension pushing out 56 horses to the crank and 43 ft. pounds of torque too! The 600 is the better technical slow woods bike over the 650 though I hear. Torque to climb anything you can hold on for as well. This mans recommendations are always 100% for this bike I have found to be true. The bigger Tail bag he uses is a great add on as well I use it every day, and cover it with the mud and water proof cover for off road riding like our weekly dual sport group ride tomorrow. They make an even Larger 42 liter version of this nelson rig tail bag that is a little too big but I may get to replace my water proof roll bag for longer trips it is more convenient and easier to get into ,or put stuff into on the road for sure.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The engine won’t get tired for a very long time. Well anytime you install a big bore, you will lose some dependability for sue because you are adding more stress to all on the engine components.
      You will gain more hp but in the end, to me, it’s not worth it.

    It's getting harder and harder to keep myself from buying one of these (well, the 250L Rally) to replace my old XT350, as a companion to my TW200s for when I want to ride over 50 mph. I've always loved Honda's simplicity and reliability, and have every confidence the new 250 is just as road capable as my old 350, and I'm sure it's easier to ride, too. I think I'm going to have to have one someday when the old nag finally keels over, unless it outlives me, haha!

    Nice review. I tried one while my Africa Twin was being serviced at the dealership. It is a true dirtbike with indicators. I turned around after about 2 minutes lol That seat is not meant to have someone sitting on it, I think you did well with the Concept Seats upgrade! It's very light, agile, and in town or offroad, it has plenty power. When I got back from the very short test drive I just couldn't believe they were selling it for over 12000$ CAD. I'm pretty sure next Spring they will knock off at least 2000$ off the price tag to get them out the door. Great concept, but it's way over priced in my humble opinion. I bought my leftover 2017 Africa Twin for 12800$CAD and not only is it great offroad (obviously not as agile as the 450 in the extreme technical stuff), but you also have a motorcycle on which you can put 5-600km a day easy. If you don't mind the price tag and spend 90%+ of your time offroad, the 450 is without a doubt an awesome machine. If you're looking for a jack of all trades kind of motorcycle, I don't think this is it. Like I always say, there's very few bad bikes nowadays, only bad choices for the type of riding we do :) This 450 can be an excellent bike, depending on the type of riding you do.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the input, it’s good to here from someone who base test rode the 450. I will most likely stay with my 250L for a while

    • @Speedytrip
      @Speedytrip 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      oups I thought it was the 450! :P Aside from a little power, I don't think you would be gaining much for the price tag ;)

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The price tag is the problem

    • @Speedytrip
      @Speedytrip 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really is. Prices KTM customers are used to, but if I was to buy a street legal dirtbike I'd probably go with the 250 as well. Better bang for the buck even if down on power.

    The reason why you're getting such good fuel economy out of that do bike over the 2014 is because IPA is running a whole lot later over the 2014 In edge and running that lady is really hard on the valves seats and guides cause your head temperatures are higher also because are so much more alcohol and the gas your Piston rings or get EJK kit That will help make your edge and last a lot longer not so much more for power but make your edge and last longer Sometimes you gotta spend money to save money

    For last 250L you had you got a set of Zeta (3 finger?) levers clutch and brake. Any reason why you haven't done it to this bike? Did they fit perfect no adjustments needed for mounting and clutch cable/brake switches? I'm thinking of getting them because 3 finger clutch would make life easier while standing in slow off road, and people usually have bad reviews of chinese cheap ones. Also I went with one point mount Zeta handguards just to take the chill off hands, so zeta levers make sense also due to folding action..

    For the 2020 CRF250L : Do you know if the 2020 is dual/twin spark?
    For 2017-2019 CRF250L :
    Does the 305cc Big Bore kit work better with a FMF Q4 & Megabomb
    or not? Is you bike post 2017? Do you know of anyone that has
    dyno'ed the stock CRF250L (post 2017) and with the 305cc Big Bore
    Kit and the FMF Q4 & Megabomb with 14T/40T stock sprocket
    gearing? Does the 13T and/or 42T sprockets / rear tire size affect
    the dyno readings? Does the EJK for the 305cc BBK improve only by
    themselves or even better when combined when the exhaust mods are
    made?

I'm averaging 68mpg while riding freeway 90% of the time. I can only get over 72mpg while tucking down. Bought it new last November, I'm just over 6k miles now. I haven't seen 80mpg yet.

      I looked at it but with all that plastic, I would be breaking it all the time in the rocks and woodz

    Why do you keep talking about the powerband? I thought this was a 4 stroke. Arent they supposed to have an even powerband throughout the RPMs??!

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, a four stroke still has a powerband , it’s not a burst like a two stroke but it’s there

      WOODZMAN ADVENTURES obviously it has powerband i just never heard anyone refer to it like that in a 4stroke. Because 4 strokes are supposed to have even power throughout the rpm.

    Nice-looking bike, but specs say it weighs 318#. I'll keep my 15-yo KTM 625SXC that weighs the same and has triple the HP and torque.
