This is really good advice. I've been writing lyrics myself, and it's helped me come up with some things that I find interesting. I'm really inspired by Fall Out Boy and TøP lyrics, so it's so cool to hear this from Patrick!

honestly i find the standard way harder, like writing the lyrics first makes a lot more sense to me
the lyrics are the least important part of music

It depends...there are a lot of different merits a song can have. Maybe you just like songs with straightforward lyrics and really good music!
