Right before my great grandmother passed, one of her last wishes was for me to sing for her at her funeral. She wanted to hear the song Hallelujah. The day of the funeral I sat by my self, away from the rest of my family, preparing to sing beside my late great grandmother. I didn’t want to see the faces of my family, because I knew that I would have broken out in tears if I saw them crying. The time had come for me to sing. I stood right next to her coffin and sang for her, for the very last time. That was one of the hardest moments of my life. I couldn’t put my finger on how I was feeling. I sang for someone who wasn’t there, but in a way she was. In spirit. I know she heard me that day and I know that she hears this song. Cold at the altar is a tribute to my great grandmother.”

Answer: one of their treasures is / has been that they have a natural aptitude for singing and for music in general. It is in their genes. See for example "allsång på Skansen", Stockholm, where they meet and sing together once a week in the summertime. And their people's soul goes very, very deep. A big hug from Norway, neighbour of Sweden.
Chris is a singer/songwriter from Sweden. he won Swedish Idol 2017 and made it to the semi finals on AGT 2019. his audition/cover of Imagine on AGT made him known internationally. you should check out his channel and let yourself be wowed by his vocals. today he is one of the best vocalist out there and he plays a good guitar... as you can tell i became a forever fan once seeing him perform on AGT.

What he is brilliantly singing about is both . I’m was going through this myself even today. I let God and Jesus in my life and in the same year, My beloved suffered with skin cancer and passed at age 48 in 2019. I stopped going church and blocked God because I was angry. I pray everyday my beloved can come back home to me . However he suffered and he did deserve that. 🥺

He does mention that Chris has a weight problem in the beginning of the video. Also, like some of you have written, the message of the song has nothing to do with God. Also, as a fellow Swede, we are quite agnostical when it comes to religion so, an unlikly theme for a Swedish musiscian to adress. I see the lyrics more metaphorical.
