I don't understand this dialogue about "enforced feminism." Feminism is defined as the treatment of women as equals. Does having an all female cast (Ghostbusters) or an empowered female lead (Alice) really worthy of a backlash? Should I be upset that the first Ghostbusters film featured an all male cast? Should I be upset when a strong male character is a lead in a film? It's so confusing and weird that people get upset about this - even other women. It's kind of sad.
With Ghostbusters, it's likely more about the attitude of 'if you don't want to see it you're sexist' that Sony seemed to encourage (terrible marketing move) or the fact that many who watched it were really not happy with the fact that every male character in the movie was apparently stupid, an asshole, or both.
Gregory House Yes, especially when you look at how great the female supporting characters were in the original Ghostbusters movie. Dana and Janine were both intelligent women, which makes their male equivalents in the reboot seem even more insulting.
Gregory House except for of course the obvious reverse, where if you look at almost every female character in history, theyre either sexy, emotional, or a damsel. Its so funny that people get up in arms when theres even a hint that men wont "get their fair share" when women have spent their entire existence waiting to get theirs.
Angel McGovern i kinda get Grace's point... chatacters like Ren and Leia from star wars didn't seem to try to "prove" anything ,they were just awesome chatacters, that happened to be women...other female characters, who's whole purpose is to promote feminism, can take away from the character and overall movie experience itself
The owning your sexuality argument only works when speaking of a women who CHOOSES to embrace her sexy. It does not work with female characters written by men for the male gaze.
Honorable mention: Assassins Creed. Sorry Fassbender, even you chiseled steel and sex appeal couldn't save that movie. Why did he need to be shirtless for all those action scenes?
Nater SnorkleBox I actually went to see it even though I saw the bad reviews. it was a decent movie thats it just decent.i just don't understand why they couldn't do a story based on altair from the first game, the story is literally written for them so there's no way they could fuck it up

Emilio Valenzuela yeah but can you truthfully say it deserves to be named as the worst movie of 2016? Is it really that bad that a film like Nine Lives is better than it? Just because you it may have been the worst BLOCKBUSTER movie doesn't mean it was the worst overall movie.
people really need to get over this Lex Luthor thing. I thought they made him an interesting and fun to watch tbh. Either way, this is the most interesting and complex depiction of Lex Luthor we have ever seen in live action, but im guessing most people dont realize that because they were too busy focusing on "ew yuck Jesse Eisenberg so cringe".

5.Independence Day Resurgence 4. Ghostbusters remake 3. Teenage mutant ninja turtles out of the shadows 2. Sausage Party (haven't seen it because I just don't find Seth Rogan funny anymore) 1. Captain America Civil War (I'm sorry this is my opinion the movie was boring half the time, it felt rushed, the villain once again was a forgettable slap in the face, and lasty it was the same generic MCU formula. that's not how "worst movies of the year" work.. You said you enjoyed "the fighting scenes" which was *1/3* of the movie and then call it generic. So you enjoyed 33% of it and thought the rest was generic? You know what is worse than that? A movie that is actually bad. Where you hate almost everything and didn't enjoy anything. I mean, I respect your opinion. But based off of your description of civil war it should not be #1. There are worse things than just being "generic", trust me.
Josie i loved MoS. Loved BvS. SS? Ugh. The only reason i can rewatch that movie is because of Harley, DeadShot (Will Smith playing himself; which i do not mind) and Diablo. Amanda waller was great!
Loved your commentary on the confusion that is in film culture and in some people of empowered women should look like. We need more 3 dimensional roles for women. 👍👍
I found your channel from posts on an a chat app called grouvi where you can join all kinds of groups on different subjects like TH-cam and ethical hacking, it's not as popular as other apps and I think it deserves to be more popular and the developers directly interact with the user to help fix bugs and take suggestions and just chat so it's great. Not that this is at all on subject but whatever.
I do agree Suicide Squad is one of the worst movie ever made. Its a snap chat movie with plot holes. I also think Batman V Superman also was a pretty bad movie. Last year wasnt the year of the dc cinematic universe
worst ever?hahahahahah age of Pinocchio Ultron has a lot of plot holes why nobody complain about it lol worst movie ever made Hahahahahaha what a dipshit
fero player I thought it was more entertaining than two whiny heroes coming to a truce bc their moms had the same name. Wonder Woman was the only good thing to come out of BvS. I hope the DCEU starts getting better tho. BvS and Suicide Squad both made money but I at least want to be entertained by their movies Bc if not I'll stop going to see them.
There have been a lot of complains about Age of Ultron, but it has a few things which BvS and SS doesn't have, and which ensure that it is still a decent movie overall. You know, likable characters, creative action scenes, and some really good interactions scenes...the wood chopping scene for example, or the talk between Vision and Ultron. Plus, while the plot is a little bit messy and rushed overall, the themes in Age of Ultron are rock solid. And you know, even if Age of Ultron were as bad as BvS and SS, what would it make a difference? I expect just good movies from the DCEU, independent from the question what Marvel does or doesn't do.
I can guarantee most people who voted BvS as a worst film didn't understand it. They will probably reply with MARTHAA. Watch the jlu podcast by sam otten, watch the film again to understand it.
Scott Lerer It was the excessive amount of plot holes for me, like there was so many that it could be put in a film class as an example of how to not write film. The problems other than that was just a pacing issue and as a comic book fan the creation of doomsday and the death of Superman was wasted. But the cast was PHENOMENAL and the cinematography was beautiful!!!
Davon Stigars Im not going through all of these. I'll go through first two 1. Batman doesn't know what is at Lex's place. There would probably be more criminals there that Batman would have to fight off. It makes more sense to fight them off now. 2. Lex is smart and has been tracking footage of Superman and Batman and their identities.
The killing joke doesn't even have good animation. I would say Avatar and The Legend of Korra's last seasons were WAY better in quaility animation department.
Exactly, the poll only asks for top 10 and worst 5 not ranking every movie. If all movies were ranked by everyone then you could generate a comprehensive list, but nobody has the time to do that , and how many people would actually go see all the movies including the "crappy" ones.
My top 10 worst of 2016: 10. The Huntsman: Winter's War 9. Dirty Grandpa 8. Zootopia 7. Alice Through the Looking Glass 6. Lights Out 5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows 4. Zoolander 2 3. Pete's Dragon 2. How to Be Single 1. Batman: The Killing Joke
I can kind of understand why so many people have B v S on their top 10 or top 5 worst lists.I think it is because of both characters cultural significance ,Batman proved that hero's can leap off the pages of comicbooks while Superman proved that superheros can make lots of money at Theaters..BUT....then again, both proved that just because superheros can leap off the pages of said comicbooks that that doesn't mean that they won't trip or stumble(Batman and Robin,Superman III/IV...*yawns* Returns..MoS)while leaping off our favorite books.
I used to think (when the movie came out) that you have exaggerated a little bit considering not liking Suicide Squad but after re watching it, I completely agree with you, it feels more like a music video rather than a good movie, well rather than movie at all but I did liked BvS! ;)
Lol marvel fanboys are petty. Seriously, there were abysmal movies released last year. BvS has no place among them. Granted, it's no The Dark Knight but sheesh..
This segment made this clear, because frankly, I admit I didn't get it... and I admit I'll probably forget it later. "...Who decided being Sexy and owning your sexy-ness, was Empowering, because sometimes being really sexy and inappropriate also leads to victimization, bad life choices, objectification... I mean they're separate!..." And sometimes it's just cleverly disguised. Power Girl's boob window costume - I explained the reason for it to my wife and she told me that this was the MOST STUPID THING I HAVE EVER SAID TO HER. Yeah, I think I get it now. I mean there were no emoji's to express the look on her face.
I feel So alone in the world. I really loved BvS. I thought it was a complex character study and asked important questions that seemed important and relevant. Questions like, in a cynical world, can a hero stand for good? What happens when you DO live long enough to become the villain? How much is TOO MUCH for one man to shoulder alone? I get it though. Eisenberg seemed woefully miscast. Doomsday did NOT need to be in this movie. There are problems. But I feel like my problems weren't the same as everyone else's. Grace, you and like one other guy (another online personality) were the ONLY people who supported BvS. And for that I thank you.
valerie sayegh I'm not the biggest fan of BvS but I though it was a ok movie not bad, not amazing but I have to agree with u it was super fun to see batman and superman together on the big screen
I am sorbitol, Maltitol, xylitol, mannitol, Calcium Amazing Spider Man 2 was fantastic and also her career is still amazing with Birdman and LA LA Land.
the truly sad thing about Suicide Squad was that there were glimmers of brilliance.. So much wasted potential :( Had that amazing soundtrack been combined with actual action sequences instead of 5 sec scenes it could have redefined the genre.
hey grace, big fan of the channel! i was hoping you could talk about the emoji movie being cancelled since i loved your trailer reaction so much. keep up the amazing work!
Aye, I think Wonder Woman will be the film DC needs ASAP.. And as much as I hate to admit it, I didn't think Ghostbusters was as bad as I expected (Id give it a 3/10).
I don't go to see a lot of movies that suck, so if a really bad movie isn't in this list, that's probably why. Also, this is out of 144 movies, so keep that in mind. 10 - Free State of Jones 9 - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 8 - Nerve 7 - Alice Through the Looking Glass 6 - Now You See Me 2 5 - The Brothers Grimsby 4 - Pride and Prejudice and Zombies 3 - Collateral Beauty 2 - Blackway 1 - Warcraft
A question for you Grace; what was the bottom five for the best movie category - I think that would be really interesting to compare to the worst list. Thank you for such a brilliant year of movie news and I can't wait to watch some more. I watch you each evening in the UK before bed.
Mr. J Sure am! Not only did I get Civil War and Doctor Strange this year, both excellent theater experiences, I got to enjoy Return of the Caped Crusaders on the big screen, finally saw Mask of the Phantasm for the first time along with Under the Red Hood, The Dark Knight Rises, and the animated Wonder Woman, and caught up with Assault on Arkham and Sub-Zero on DVD. I may enjoy Marvel, but I just fell in love with the DCAU last year!
I think rather than an objective worst, this is about expectations. I mean, I hated X-men, but I usually don't like it much, so I had low expectations anyway. But BvS and Suicide Squad were movies I was really excited about, so not liking them at all was a huge blow.
I looove your opinions!!! And i like how you handled blood wars in your review and didnt shit on it like other reviewers. You actually give it a chance instead of saying "ugh, another one" underworld was part of my childhood so its pleasing
Hi Grace! Happy new year and I have a question for you! In terms of making spin offs to big franchises what would be your thoughts on the hunger games continuing as a TV series with each episode containing a different games? love your videos thanks Lewis
Sorry, but I don't think that the Great Wall is going to white wash. The story revolves around Matt Damon, who is a trader from a separate part of the world. They aren't trying to depict him as Asian.
According to Variety it's far from being another case of whitewashing or a "white savior" movie. They say that Damon "spends the course of the film being humbled, out-smarted, and re-educated in Chinese virtues of bravery, selflessness, discipline, and invention." They even call it "cultural cheerleading".
I actually didn't mind Now you see me 2, Alice through the looking glass, Ghostbusters, or the Killing Joke. Didn't think they were as horrible as people said they were. I didn't see BvS or Suicide Squad because the trailers looked bad and the reviews were worse.
I'm guessing the pushback against Ghostbusters and Alice Through The Looking Glass, especially the former, will show that you cannot make your mediocre/shitty (respectively) movie a success by implying that who watches them is enlightened and who doesn't/has no interest in doing so is of that opinion only because they're sexist manpigs (the fallout against James Rolfe anyone?).
A "professional" screenwriter would be aware enough to realize that 6 weeks is barely enough to complete a first draft, let alone rewrites, which is the most important phase of the process. I'm not defending David Ayer, because what was put on screen was so embarrassingly horrible and incoherent, but the demand to complete a screenplay in 6 weeks is pathetic on the studio's part. I don't blame Ayer for taking the challenge, because most writers of his caliber would be confident enough to do it when the opportunity is as great as landing a huge movie like Suicide Squad. I think that's just a prime example of how ill-prepared WB is to weave such a cohesive, long-term narrative together into a single universe. Hopefully they learn from that ridiculously poor decision and make sure they nail down the foundation before trying to build upon it. Because WB is a studio beholden to its shareholders and Executive Board, their ability to make long-term plans and actually follow up on it is hindered by the fact that they need to satisfy certain financial returns each quarter. Unless they are granted the absolute autonomy needed to build the DCEU the right way, they'll be stuck being reactive instead of proactive. Look at what's happening with their slate already...they slot in a production like Gotham City Sirens solely for business reasons (which is totally fine...this is a business, after all) instead of building on the overall narrative. I don't want to make this a Marvel/DC debate, because both can and should thrive, but while business does factor into Marvel's decisions, they know that servicing the entire MCU narrative is more lucrative in the long-term than simply choosing which production will bring in the highest immediate return and are fully supported by Disney, who grants the studio with the autonomy needed to thrive. Hopefully DC/WB actually allow this new DC Films branch the same autonomy because they could potentially be even more successful than Marvel, but, as it stands now, that decision to create DC Films as a subsidiary was mostly a publicity move and WB still decides which DC films get invested in.
THANK YOU! Grace you are a beautiful human being. What you said during "The Killing Joke" about the backwards-logic of "owning your sexiness" and girl power is completely on point! It has completely the opposite effect if you objectify yourself. Besides, being sexy doesn't mean showing everything for the world to see.
Whenever people say sexy female characters are empowered I'm just like... these characters are fictional, what they wear is decided for them (usually by male writers/artists), so it's not at all empowering for the character; unless a true narrative is set around a character feeling comfortable with her sexuality, the only thing a sexy design is, is objectifying. Additionally, sexy designs need to make sense, to some degree, within the universe.
I'm so tired of men writing women to be total sex bombs, then using the "she's empowered" bullshit excuse. Yes, women can be sexy, wear revealing clothes, and be empowered by having ownership over their sexuality. That's sex positive feminism 101. However, when that's the only woman we get to see on screen, and often only crafted that way by men, it's an issue. It's not only idiotic at this point to have men create (and try to defend) such characters, but it's antiquated. And the DCEU has totally capitalized on this archetype, along with the damsel in distress. There is nothing empowering about a room full of men handling women in such a way.
Harley Quinn in my opinion uses her sexy look as a distraction and her "dumness" so she can bite back when she is ready even tho it's not a hard bite and maybe not as surprising she does bite back...
Grace, a huge number of women seem to like Harley Quinn as much as men do. Could that not mean that your definition of feminism is a little narrow? Young women obviously see something in Harley that's admirable -- or at least relatable. Are those young women simply naïve, in your opinion? Should being a feminist mean you dress conservatively and never flirt? I don't have a strong opinion on this one way or another. Just asking.
Shouldn't harley quinn be considered a feminist character? Shes a character that does what she wants without being restricted by society's judgments. Shes always been popular because shes far more than just eye candy. Sucide Squad's Harley Quinn was a terrible 1D sex object. The comic character is far better. A big part of the character is that she was in an abusive relationship and got out of it. She learned to recover from it and be herself. Harley is never held up as role model but rather a character women can relate to.
Grace could you make a video explaining the 3 act story structure and whatnot means to you or defined in film school? I don't think you have explained it in detail with examples? I love when you explain film theory and industry, keep up the good work, I watch your show everyday :) 😜⭐🐷🐽😇
i dont think The Killing Joke was the worst. by all means, it was a HUGE disappointment. but to be worse than movies like Gods of Egypt, Warcraft, and Office Christmas Party? no .
The sad thing about trashing a bad movie is that there are so many people that work on them that you know that youre criticizing something that someone actually put effort and ingenuity into but someone else didn't put forth that effort
I don't mind worst lists, but I hate the fact that people get personally offended as if your opinion is a fact.
What about a fan vote for most anticipated movies of 2017
it'll just be all superhero movies with Star Wars at number one...why even bother?
Comicbook Lego Productions isn't it obvious that any Marvel movie for next year will be on that list? Maybe Star Wars episode VIII too.
Addison Hernández And definitely Justice League.
suicide squad was worse than Gods Of Egypt??!!! what the hell has this world come too!!
Exactly ! that's why I cant take grace serious .
To be fair, a lot less people watched that. Out of the ones I watched, Suicide Squad was the worse.
I'm guessing it's because more people watched Suicide Squad and therefore more people voted for it on the poll?
Suicide Squad was bad. It literally had no story just a bunch of lame characters, except Harley and Amanda, fighting some wack villian.
I didn´t watch Gods of Egypt so I had to vote for Suicide Squad. I usually try to avoid bad movies and you can easilly figure out by the trailers Gods of Egypt was trash, but I had hope for Suicide squad, so I watched it and almost regrettted it inmediately.
I absolutely disagree about audiences worst movies of 2016. BvS was disappointing, but worst? Hold your horses.
Future Trunks It was confusing , boring and the fight scenes were underwhelming
I gave it a 6
I like DC but I really didn't like bvs- I liked suicide squad a lot but that's just my opinion :)
It's not one of the worst films of the year. It might have been the most disappointing film of the year for some people, but that is not the same. People are voting with their hearts and not their heads.
Nope!
I shouldn't have to read 50 billion comics to Understand BVS
Like the Flash going through a wormhole
Batman seeing a burning city and flying men
A bunch of shit
Looking at the list I wasn't the only one
Looking at the box office I wasn't the only one
Looking at the reviews I wasn't the only one
it was bad but not the worst at all
did you even see tmnt?
dirty grandpa?
pride and prejudice and zombies?
and so many more
emma stone ruined her carrer? what? isnt she like front runner for an oscar
I'm talking mainstream success - she was poised for super-stardom post Easy A but when she went blonde for Spider-Man it all went downhill.
Beyond The Trailer ah ok fair enough, i only started following her career around birdman
You should watch Easy A - she has Sandra Bullock potential! Or had... we'll see if she ever has any interest in trying to get it back.
Sandra Bullock aka one of the greatest wannabe in Hollywood with an oscar for an horrible movie ahaha
***** Yeah, it's a movie made only for the award season. The proof? No one is talking about it anymore, and it was an academy award nominee.
The only joke in 'The Killing Joke' was the movie itself.
ezwar99 I'm not sure that's entirely possible, but as a faceless avatar I'm sure anything you do is achievable.
tkj was so insulting
Thank you Grace for being my favourite TH-camr. Here's a cookie 🍪
YUM! And thank u! :)
The Killing Joke was made even more of a joke when the directors started calling the critics 'pu**y's'. So embarrassing when they can't take a punch. You're so right about the sexualization of Batgirl too. It's a damn shame, she looked up to Bruce like her own father..
so petty
The plot of Suicide Squad was literally walking from point A to point B. That's it!
It's kind of funny that Batman v. Superman is both in the top best and worst, seems like an accurate discription of how people recived it, They either hated it or loved it haha😂🙈
I come from the future and let me tell you about a little movie called, The Last Jedi.
@@Azirei come from the future future and I bring you, The Acolyte 👀💀
I don't understand this dialogue about "enforced feminism." Feminism is defined as the treatment of women as equals. yeah an older woman not getting this point is troublesome too. very sad for grace
Interesting that Suicide Squad made both the best and worst list. Shows how divisive the movie was
and BvS also ... prejudice and very meticulous looking for flaws in DC movies works.
+sasoesasoe true, but I too thought that Suicide Squad and BvS were garbage
Patrick Doss I thought BVS UE was fantastic.
(Forgets Gods of Egypt ever existed)(Sees Gods of Egypt on the list)....oh yeah. That was a piece of crap. lol
The owning your sexuality argument only works when speaking of a women who CHOOSES to embrace her sexy. It does not work with female characters written by men for the male gaze.
thank you
Honorable mention: Assassins Creed. Sorry Fassbender, even you chiseled steel and sex appeal couldn't save that movie. Why did he need to be shirtless for all those action scenes?
They were trying to evoke the Distracted By The Sexy trope, I guess...
Nater SnorkleBox I actually went to see it even though I saw the bad reviews. it was a decent movie thats it just decent.i just don't understand why they couldn't do a story based on altair from the first game, the story is literally written for them so there's no way they could fuck it up
Nater SnorkleBox is actually a decent movie, terrible they focus only on the present, but overall is ok.
Nater SnorkleBox i liked the movie. But oh well.
killing joke is up there with son of batman when it comes to worse dc animated movies
watch Batman Bad Blood, it's a bit of a redemption for the current DC animated movies.
rurutu M yeah, Bad Blood was really good.
Honestly, I like the Damian Trilogy.
Hate fucking Damian
Dont forget Beware the Batman
Worst animated tv serires
As a huge Marvel fan I don't understand the hate on Suicide Squad... It was really fun and enjoyable. I didn't get bored at all watching it. Indeed it wasn't a masterpiece, but still it wasn't as bad as people try to make it seem.
SavsHavinFun agreed. Part of me feels the only reason people hate on DC films is because it is the popular thing to do.
its the popular thing to do is to hate on dc
DisneyFan I'm so dissapointed of Marvel fanboys hating on everything that is not "Marvel"... As you and the person above me said it's a trend to hate on DCEU movies. Hopefully Wonder Woman will change everything.
marvel movies are so overrated to me but thats just me

Independance Day 2 was horrible worst movie of the year for me
Shawn Pool I agree what a shit load of space crap
I agree with you: Independance 2 was horrible. I was also very, very disappointed in X-Men - Apocalypse.
"...went a few feet out the gate, farted and fell on it's face." -- HILARIOUS!
Batman V Superman it's not a bad movie and I know someday people will accept that
m for the Lex depiction alone this movie is lost for an eternity.
sapphiro oh yeah I forgot about that uncomfortable mess
people really need to get over this Lex Luthor thing. I thought they made him an interesting and fun to watch tbh. Either way, this is the most interesting and complex depiction of Lex Luthor we have ever seen in live action, but im guessing most people dont realize that because they were too busy focusing on "ew yuck Jesse Eisenberg so cringe".

Anne Hathaway's career was predicated on being sexy.
And what did Emma Stone tried sexy? When?
I think it's ridiculous that people complain about girl power movies in all honesty.
truly
It’s not ridiculous when “girl power movies” are attacking men for being men a good example is that god awful ghost busters movie
Suicide squad wasn't bad at all...
Devon Sewell Agreed. It was an abomination.
black pantah a marvel fan
black pantah XD
Explain, because someone who does this for a living just explained to you why it isn't good.
I'm big DCEU fan but I can admit Suicide Squad was really bad xD
Not enough people have seen The Girl on the Train otherwise it would have been number 1 by a mile. Almost fell asleep during that movie, it was that bad. At least BvS Suicide squad had some visual effects to keep you awake, that movie had nothing going for it. I have to agree with Grace that worst movies are typically not a good idea. I enjoyed the fighting scenes and when it was over.)
V I'm sorry dude but Seth plays the same pothead guy in every comedy he is in now. He was only funny in that film Superbad.
V Yep if Seth finds a new comedic style then I'll give him another chance until then he's the male Melissa McCarthy to me
V hmmmm...didn't know that
that's not how "worst movies of the year" work.. You said you enjoyed "the fighting scenes" which was *1/3* of the movie and then call it generic.

why do I get the feeling you put Civil War as 1 just to get a rise out of people? Hmmmm.... :P
Grace, I really enjoyed that intro. Thanks for being such an honest reviewer, critic, and analyst.
My pleasure - and I'm so glad you enjoyed the intro!
Thank you! Suicide Squad was terrible. I'm not even a fan of either marvel or dc
yea now you have something in common with it
it was terrible but not worthy of top 5
Josie you don't have to like it, but its not the worst movie of 2016.
I'm glad you admitted that Suicide Squad was one of the worst movies of 2016
Very happy to see Suicide Squad there. :D
It isn't the worst ever, but it was disappointing.
Great video, Grace! Can you make a video about your most anticipated movies of 2017 please? :D
Davon Stigars which plot holes? Please don't tell me Superman killing doomsday or Superman's hearing. Those both have simple explanations.
Scott Lerer Get ready to read my friend😊
Bosco Returns I know 😔😔😔
Davon Stigars Im not going through all of these. I'll go through first two 1. Batman doesn't know what is at Lex's place. There would probably be more criminals there that Batman would have to fight off. It makes more sense to fight them off now. 2. Lex is smart and has been tracking footage of Superman and Batman and their identities.
Depp's reveal in FB was actually comical. I can't believe he's the one playing somebody that goes up against Dumbledore. We'll see.
The killing joke doesn't even have good animation. I would say Avatar and The Legend of Korra's last seasons were WAY better in quaility animation department.
" _Even the worm is leaving._ "
Oof! You're a mean girl, Grace!
how can batman v superman and scuicide squad both be in the top ten worst and best list?
Because a lot of people voted, but they didn't all feel the same about those two movies.
Exactly, the poll only asks for top 10 and worst 5 not ranking every movie. If all movies were ranked by everyone then you could generate a comprehensive list, but nobody has the time to do that , and how many people would actually go see all the movies including the "crappy" ones.
Sietse van der Pal so many people LOVED suicide squad and bvs and there are some that dislike those movies
My top 10 worst of 2016:
10. The Huntsman: Winter's War
9. Dirty Grandpa
8. Zootopia
7. Alice Through the Looking Glass
6. Lights Out
5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows
4. Zoolander 2
3. Pete's Dragon
2. How to Be Single
1. Batman: The Killing Joke
Jessethegoodwitch zootopia was the worst film? That's surprising.
The2012hungergames I mean not the worst, the 8th for me. I did not like it at all
I can kind of understand why so many people have B v S on their top 10 or top 5 worst lists.I think it is because of both characters cultural significance ,Batman proved that hero's can leap off the pages of comicbooks while Superman proved that superheros can make lots of money at Theaters..BUT....then again, both proved that just because superheros can leap off the pages of said comicbooks that that doesn't mean that they won't trip or stumble(Batman and Robin,Superman III/IV...*yawns* Returns..MoS)while leaping off our favorite books.
Rage Inducer Or, just MAYBE, some very disappointed DC fanboys voted them the worst of 2016 as well.
I mean they're separate!..."
And sometimes it's just cleverly disguised.
BVS omg i fucking hate that damn movie. why the fuck would you mess up batman v superman
smh.
littlebigmarc hey appreciate that a live action movie with superman and batman together was made
valerie sayegh I'm not the biggest fan of BvS but I though it was a ok movie not bad, not amazing but I have to agree with u it was super fun to see batman and superman together on the big screen
littlebigmarc BVS UE was Amazing.
littlebigmarc it did not mess it up for me. My question is how can they mess up SS?
your videos are worse than nicotine, they are addicting
Movie Central truth
Johnny Depp better be good in the fantastic beasts sequels because I really want to see the Dumbledoor Grindlewold story adapted to screen
Come on, Emma stone was in one bad movie only (the amazing spiderman 2) how is her career ruined.
I'm so glad you put the killing joke on your list, it was a slap in the face to fans
"Came a few feet out of the gate, farted, then fell flat on it's face" lol
hey grace, big fan of the channel! i was hoping you could talk about the emoji movie being cancelled since i loved your trailer reaction so much. keep up the amazing work!
BvS over Gods of Egypt ? Man.... I don`t want to live on this planet anymore.
Aye, I think Wonder Woman will be the film DC needs ASAP.. And as much as I hate to admit it, I didn't think Ghostbusters was as bad as I expected (Id give it a 3/10).
Grace will you still do a Box Office Episode ? Keep Up The Great work
I don't go to see a lot of movies that suck, so if a really bad movie isn't in this list, that's probably why. Also, this is out of 144 movies, so keep that in mind.
10 - Free State of Jones
9 - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
8 - Nerve
7 - Alice Through the Looking Glass
6 - Now You See Me 2
5 - The Brothers Grimsby
4 - Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
3 - Collateral Beauty
2 - Blackway
1 - Warcraft
A question for you Grace; what was the bottom five for the best movie category - I think that would be really interesting to compare to the worst list.
Thank you for such a brilliant year of movie news and I can't wait to watch some more. I watch you each evening in the UK before bed.
"came a few feet out of the gate, farted, and then fell on its face" 😂😂
Lol 6:45 "farted and fell on its face". Apparently I'm 12 ;)
hilarious episode and hilarious commentary. Do more like these.
Marvel fanboys rejoice
even marvel fanboys can agree there was way worse movies then BVS this year
TMNT
dirty grandpa
and so many more
***** did you not watch SS
willis jhonson No one saw them so no one voted on them
Mr.
***** have you seen the extended cut of BVS it is miles better then the theatrical?
My worst movie of the year is: Suicide Squad. Halfway through the movie I wanted to leave
Here are my worst 5
Suicide Squad
Suicicde Squad
Suicide Squad
Suicide Squad
Batman V Superman
Terrell A'mari all staring Dylan cause the spew hot shit
you left out civil war
Fuck The World Nope, Civil War was the BEST comic book movie of 2016... and I'm a DC fan not Marvel. If a movie is trash, then it just is trash.
suzies side blog was like an hour of trailers
Food and a Grace video. Always a great combination.
*Nom-nom-nom.*
lol same here. Food combined with grace's latest videos is everything
Love your videos it really helps me for my film class that i'm taking. Keep up the good work
Your videos are phenomenal, very insightful!
How is Alice Through the Looking Glass forced feminism?
apparently a woman in a leading role is forced feminism , totally stupid
Sorry, but I don't think that the Great Wall is going to white wash. The story revolves around Matt Damon, who is a trader from a separate part of the world. They aren't trying to depict him as Asian.
According to Variety it's far from being another case of whitewashing or a "white savior" movie. They say that Damon "spends the course of the film being humbled, out-smarted, and re-educated in Chinese virtues of bravery, selflessness, discipline, and invention." They even call it "cultural cheerleading".
I enjoyed Alice Through The Looking Glass, it was fun. I voted for Gods of Egypt and I haven't even seen it, the trailers looked truly awful.
I watched Ghostbusters 2 days ago on a flight to LA. I actually thought, it was a fine movie
....
you still typing?
....
buciallstar It's pretty good for a sequel. Certainly miles better than the third film.
...
Hi Grace, i really enjoy your content so far. Keep going!
Big hug from Brazil, Grace! I love your reviews :D
fun fact: Sandra Bullock is the only person to have won the Oscar for best actress and the razzie for worst actress in the same year.
I personally really loved Alice through the looking Glass. I didn't like the first Alice, but this one i thought was great.
Harley Quinn in my opinion uses her sexy look as a distraction and her "dumness" so she can bite back when she is ready even tho it's not a hard bite and maybe not as surprising she does bite back...
No three act structure. No character development...(main character at least)...
No real story...Are we talking about Forrest Gump?
far out man Ghostbusters was not a bad movie. I do agree that the Killing Joke was horrific. Butchered the comic.
Finally! Other people agree with me about suicide squad being the worst! I'm not the only person!
"even the worm had left it" OMG 😂😂😂 Grace you should become a professional insult writer cause damn 😂😂😂
I really liked a lot of the visuals of Alice through the looking glass.
From the best to the worst a pretty good list. This worst list proves that 2016 is the year of bad writing.
I watched Ghostbuster recently, I was ok, not amazing, not horrible, just ok
Can't lie, I was glad Arrival and La La Land weren't on the list.
the only movie that I didn't like from 2016 was X-Men apocalypse that was God awful
The only thing I disliked was Jennifer Lawrence's performance. She doesn't work as Mystique.
I think there are a lot of misguided women out there who LIKE being objectified. Look at the selfie craze.
Thanks for the reply, Grace. It's an interesting topic.
Beyond The Trailer and the 50 shades of grey craze arguably
Shouldn't harley quinn be considered a feminist character? Shes a character that does what she wants without being restricted by society's judgments. Shes always been popular because shes far more than just eye candy.
Sucide Squad's Harley Quinn was a terrible 1D sex object. The comic character is far better. A big part of the character is that she was in an abusive relationship and got out of it. She learned to recover from it and be herself. Harley is never held up as role model but rather a character women can relate to.
I love Suicide Squad, will never understand why ppl hate it.
