    When I enable expo it crashes. On R23 I get around 35,000 at 89 degrees. The precision boost at 80 degrees does help speed things up a little whilst keeping the system much cooler. On Cinebench R23 stress test, I still cant get a boost higher than 4.7 with an average of 4.4 though.

    unfortunately 4x32 6000 MHz is not supported yet. The system gets stuck on post with the orange light on

    Guys, what is your experience with x670e motherboards these days? I'm having difficulty choosing a motherboard for my build, there are many negative reports about AM5 boards, can you help me choose a board that doesn't give me a headache? Thank you all for your help....

      I've been looking at motherboards all week and literary read thousands of comments on Reddit and compared most of the motherboards with each other.
      Apparently it doesn't matter what you get, all boards have sufficient power to be able to run all CPUs from Amd on them.
      Most people recommend a b650 to save some money, but since it's the internet it's 50/50 if a board is good or bad.
      I bought the one in the video since most reviewers and people on Reddit and forums say it's good. I found it cheapest on Amazon atleast in my country ( Sweden )
      You pay more for the audio chip number of USB ports and number of m.2 slots and PCIe 5.0 for your GPU but that shouldn't matter since no cards available can use that speed.
      I don't know how much this helps but buy what you can afford, all boards should suffice but like with everything else the higher the price the better performance.

    Hello,
    I plan to buy the 7800X3D. I am not interested in overclocking and want to buy the Asus ROG Strix B650E-F version because it is significantly cheaper. Do you recommend buying this CPU for a more "inferior" version like the Asus ROG Strix B650E-F?

    Nice tip, I did this a few days ago. One thing I would add on is play with the curve optimizer also... So I have it set to enhancement 80c and a negative 24 curve optimizer for all cores on a 7950x.

    • @pascalfilion3518
      @pascalfilion3518 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Be careful the enhanced settings already adds a negative 15 all core and an 50mhz offset max tubo by default, you can look this up by opening ryzen master. I don't think your 24 curve is actually applied.

    Thank you so much for this video. The timing couldn't be better. I finished my AM5 build yesterday (7600x (temp CPU waiting for 3D variant) FE 4090, EXPO 32GB 6000 (CL36) built on a ROG STRIX X670E-E. I'm going to try these settings ASAP!!! Great mobo. I'm running 3 SSD's only, because the 3rd ssd slot (bottom left) steals lanes from the 1st pcie slot, cutting it from by x16 to by x8 mode.. That's the only flaw so far.

      @@Sid-Cannon Totally, you're right... However, The 7600X will be sold the second I get a 7800x3d or whatever AMD announces at CES. I purchased the 7600x for $235 during Black Friday. It will be much easier to resell a 7600x, and take a minimal hit compared to a 7900x.

      @@anddo24 Okay I get what you are saying and I guess that's where we differ. I would never do an expensive upgrade with the intention of selling the CPU within a year or two. Me personally, I would either go for Ryzen 9 in the first place, or wait for the X3D models.

    For the work my 7950X does, I found that I get roughly the same performance at stock settings and both Level 1 and 2 of the PBO Enhancement(my testing wasn't terribly scientific, so ymmv), with Level 3 showing a measurable but small performance drop. Level 2 lets me keep the fans running nice and quiet, I love it.

    Hey man I'm hoping for some advice here.. I have the x670E-E board which is very similar.. I have the g.skill trident z5 6000 cl36 kit its on the motherboard QVL I cannot get it past stock speed using expo or manually. the system does not boot at all. I can barely even get into the bios.. at stock speed i can change the timing and be completely stable. I can change the ram speed in ryzen master and it will actually boot and work but its unstable eventually crashes and when it does the system won't boot again... I have tried to enable expo one stick at a time with both individual sticks doing the same thing when I enable expo. by a stroke of luck I do have a 2nd motherboard on hand I was reluctant to crack it open to test but the more I see people having no trouble with expo the more I believe its the motherboard especially since both ram sticks by themselves give the same result. what do you think I should do?

    Thanks, this was really helpful with my new build. You mentioned that the X670e-f scored a little lower than the Hero, is that with regards to single core? From the graphs it looks to be the opposite in terms of multi core unless I'm missing something

    • @pdegan2814

      On both my X670E and older B550 boards, there's an option to set the Platform Thermal Throttle Limit in degrees Celsius(it might have been on earlier chipsets too for all I know). For my 5950X I have PBO enabled with the PTT limit at 85(to just back off a bit from the normal limit of 90), and it keeps the cpu temps at around 82 under full load. I don't know if this new "PBO Enhancement" is just a simpler way of setting the PTT limit or if there are other optimizations involved, but I'm assuming the X570 also has the PTT limit setting available, you might want to experiment with it.

    id still like to know how the cpu pcie lanes are setup between the gpu slot and m.2 slots as have multiple m.2 drives and dont wish to loose the x16 on the gpu slot.

    • @567davefair
      @567davefair ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From my very limited understanding, The Gen5 PCIex16 (GPU) and one of the Gen5 M.2 slots go to the CPU on separate bus (not shared) so you are not gimping the GPU. The other three M.2 go to the chipset. This is on the X670(e) boards but not sure on B650
