I had friends many years ago who moved to Austin and now I see why, there is so much to do and see. I'd LOVE to see those bats. Looks like such a beautiful city, too.

For a place that's known as 'The Music Capitol' I would have thought that you would at least have mentioned the bars and clubs that offer live music! You're clearly an outdoor, walking in nature type guy though. And mini-golf? OK if you're with kids maybe.

As ALWAYS, you summed up so many, diverse points of interest. I totally enjoyed this. I've already wanted to go there.
Now, I really want to go. It looks so inviting, and full of attractions. Plus, Willie N. lives in the suburbs. 🤠🌞👏👏

I'm celiac and thinking of visiting Austin for a vacation because of the gluten free restaurants. In so many places here in Texas they mock or scoff at you or think celiac disease is fake and made up or lie about their food being gluten free, which is why I only trust dedicated gluten free places to eat at, and Austin has several of those.

    I LIKE TO SAY : AS A TEXAN :
I AM GLAD TEXAS WAS FORM AND CREATED , AND I AM GLAD AND PROUD TO BE A TEXAN OF TEXAS ,
AND I AM ALSO GLAD THAT THERE IS A SONG THAT WAS CREATED FOR TEXAS .
    ( : " 🎵🎶 " THE STARS AT NIGHT ARE BIG AND BRIGHT DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS " 🎵🎶 " : )
    I LOVE THAT SONG ! .
I REMEMBER MY GRANDFATHER TELLING ME THAT TEXAS WAS PART OF THAT CORRUPTED MEXICO
ONCE AND MY GRANDFATHER SAID THAT SO CALLED SANTANA SELL IT TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA , BUT NOW MY GRANDFATHER SAID THAT MEXICO WANTS IT BACK ,
AND MY GRANDFATHER SAID WHAT FOR ! WHY DO THEY WANT IT BACK ! SO THEY COULD MAKE CORRUPTED LIKE MEXICO , SO IT COULD BECOME LIKE CROOKED AND SCANDALOUS AND CORRUPTION LIKE MEXICO ,
MY GRANDFATHER SAID " NO WAY , NOT ON MY WATCH !
TEXAS IS TEXAS AND TEXAS IS A PROUD PART OF AMERICA AND THAT IS HOW IT IS ! SO MEXICANS DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS ! BECAUSE TEXAS IS PROUD AND IT WONT BE IN SOME PLACE LIKE CROOKED MEXICO , MEXICO IS FULL OF
    VIOLENCE , FULL OF VANDALS
, FULL OF ARM ROBBERIES , FULL OF THIEVES THAT ROBBED YOU BLIND AND THAT ROBBED YOU BY FORCE ,FULL OF GANG MEMBERS THAT LIKE TO CREATED TERRORISM .
MEXICO IS A NEST FOR SCUM AND VILLAINY EVEN THE MEXICAN POLICE IS CORRUPTED , SOMETIMES THEY LIKE TO CONFISCATE VEHICLES EVEN IF YOU ARE PARKED RIGHT ! OR IF YOU PAY THE PARKING METER , THEY DON'T GIVE A SH*T🤬 ,
THE MEXICAN POLICE CONFISCATE WHAT EVER VEHICLE THEY SEE , EVEN IF YOU HAVE TEXAS LICENSE PLATES THEY STILL CONFISCATE YOUR VEHICLE ,
. YOU KNOW SOMETHING I LIKE TO SAY SOMETHING FROM THE HEART , I THINK THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT IS CORRUPTED AND WHY BECAUSE ONE TIME MY COUSIN WENT FOR A VISIT IN MEXICO AND HE DROVE HIS CAR TO MEXICO AND WHEN HE WENT SHOPPING IN SOME OUTLETS AND WHEN HE WAS LOADING UP HIS SHOPPING MERCHANDISE ITEMS INTO HIS CAR AND SUDDENLY A MEXICAN POLICE MAN APPROACH MY COUSIN AND HE SAID I AM CONFISCATING YOUR VEHICLE AND MY COUSIN SAID WHY BECAUSE THE MEXICAN POLICE SAID YOU HAVE PAY THE FINED AND MY COUSIN SAID WHY , I PAID THE PARKING METER , THE PARKING IS NOT FINISHED , ITS STILL SHOWING THE TIME THAT I HAVE LEFT , SO MY COUSIN HAD TO STILL PAY THE FINED
, MY COUSIN SAID THAT THE MEXICAN POLICE MEN TOLD HIM YOU COULD GIVE ME THE MONEY 💰 , MY COUSIN HAD TO GIVE HIM OF WHAT HE HAD , HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS AND PESOS , SO NOW MY COUSIN HAD LITTLE LEFT OF HIS MONEY 💰 , BECAUSE OF THE FINED THAT HE HAD TO PAY THE CORRUPTIVE MEXICAN COP ,
MY COUSIN SAID THAT HE BUMP INTO ANOTHER TOURIST THAT WAS ALSO VISITING MEXICO AND THAT TOURIST SAID TO HIM , YES I KNOW WHAT HAPPENS HERE IN MEXICO , I KNOW THIS PLACE , THE MEXICAN POLICE LIKES TO CONFISCATE VEHICLES , THE MEXICAN POLICE DON'T GIVE A DAMNED OF WHAT VEHICLES THEY CONFISCATE
, THEY JUST TAKE THE VEHICLES , MY COUSIN TOLD ME THAT THE TOURIST TOLD HIM ABOUT WHERE THEY TAKE THE VEHICLES ONCE THEY TOWED THEM , THEY TAKE THEM TO THE IMPOUND FAR FROM HERE ,
THE TOURIST SAID TO MY COUSIN YOU ARE LUCKY THAT YOU HAD TO PAY THAT CROOKED MEXICAN COP BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T YOUR VEHICLE MIGHT OF BEEN TOWED TO THE IMPOUND AND IT IS FAR FROM HERE ,
MY COUSIN ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE TOURIST SAID TO HIM THAT THERE ARE RUMORS GOING IN THE IMPOUND OF WHERE THEY HAVE THE VEHICLES THAT THEY TOWED , THE RUMORS ARE THAT SOMETIMES STRANGE UNKNOWN PEOPLE TAKE THE CONFISCATED VEHICLES FOR A SPIN AROUND ( NUEVO LAREDO MEXICO ) AND SOMETIMES IF YOUR VEHICLE HAS THINGS THAT ARE YOUR BELONGINGS , WELL THEY GET STOLEN AND IF YOU DON'T PAY THE FINED OF IMPOUND WELL YOUR VEHICLE MIGHT END UP IN THE HANDS OF THE STRANGE UNKNOWN PEOPLE AND SOMETIMES THOSE PEOPLE ARE THE FAMILIES OF THE CORRUPTED MEXICAN POLICE OR SOMETIMES YOUR VEHICLE MIGHT END UP IN THE HANDS OF THE CARTELS , AND WHO KNOWS WHO WILL HAVE YOUR VEHICLE , THAT'S WHAT THE TOURIST SAID TO MY COUSIN AND THE TOURIST ALSO TOLD HIM THAT I DON'T DRIVE MY VEHICLE INTO MEXICO BECAUSE THE REASON IS THAT YOU CAN'T PARKED YOUR VEHICLE ANYWHERE EVEN IF YOU GO TO THE SUPERMARKET OR TO THE MALLS OR OUTLETS
, THEY JUST WANT MONEY ,
AND IF YOU IGNORE THOSE RULES THEN YOUR VEHICLE GETS CONFISCATED IF YOU IGNORED THOSE RULES . MY COUSIN SAID TO ME , IT'S A GOOD THING I HAD WHAT'S LEFT OF MY MONEY TO PAY THE TOLL TO CROSS BACK TO AMERICA
    ********** TO BE CONTINUED

I LIKE TO SAY : I LIKE TO SAY SOMETHING THAT MY GRANDFATHER SAID TO ME ONCE MY GRANDFATHER SAID THAT HIS FATHER " WHICH IS MY GREAT GRANDFATHER " SAID TO HIM THAT THE BORDER CITIES LIKE THE ONCE'S THAT ARE CLOSE TO THE RIVER OF RIO GRANDE AND MEXICO WERE KIND OF FOLLOWING THE MEXICAN LAWS ONCE , THAT MEANS THE SAME CORRUPTION LIKE MEXICO , AND I TOLD MY GRANDFATHER ISN'T THAT LIKE CORRUPTION , CROOKED AND NOT BEING HONEST , .
I SAID TO MY GRANDFATHER ISN'T THE BORDER CITIES SUPPOSE TO FOLLOWED THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA LAWS INSTEAD OF THE MEXICAN LAWS , THAT IS SO UNAMERICAN OF THOSE BORDER CITIES OF WHAT THEY ARE DOING , FOLLOWING THOSE DIRTY FILTHY LAWS OF MEXICO .
SO MY GRANDFATHER SAID TO ME YES I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN BY THAT AND I WISH THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT SHOULD SHAKE THINGS UP A BIT FOR ALL OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AND ALL OF THE BORDER CITIES OF TEXAS . MY GRANDFATHER SAID TO ME THAT HIS FATHER TOLD HIM THAT BORDER CITIES LIKE LAREDO TEXAS , RIO BRAVO TEXAS , ZAPATA TEXAS AND OTHER CITIES FURTHER DEEP SOUTH TEXAS WERE STILL FOLLOWING MEXICAN LAWS ,
SO THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT SHOULD SHAKE THINGS UP .

I always like your videos but you sure put a good spin on this not so Texas city. Terrible traffic some of the worst around and extremely dirty everywhere you go. Litter everywhere from the streets to the lake. So many great places in Texas is city diffently isn't one of them. We call it Sacramento light and if you have ever been to Sacramento you would know why. Dirty homeless.

woah thats probably too harsh but completely understandable. Austin isnt what it used to be but i honestly can say that no other Texas cities are better by any stretch. Compared to DFW, Houston, Amarillo or Lubbock, Austin has walkable downtown, a growing public transit, wildlife and greenery smack dab in the middle of the city, tons of nature and state park within 45 mins. The food scene is growing and pretty diverse although pales in comparison to Houston, but still loads for a city of its size. Tons of nightlife and walkability with welcoming and friendly people.
Austin is the best Texas has to offer and i can say that with some confidence after spending over a decade all over Texas. San Antonio comes a close second. Cleanliness is an issue in every city in Texas .

It's only terrible to drive in if you don't know to avoid 35 downtown.
Saying it's dirty compared to El Paso, Dallas, Ft Worth, Houston, or San Antonio, says that you've only been to the tourist areas of those cities, or never been to them.

People complain about Austin but be glad it hasn’t turned into a ghost town like St. Louis, Memphis, Buffalo and many other cities in America. At least there’s foot traffic and an economy. Be glad it hasn’t turned into a Little Rock Arkansas. Common for many American cities to decline in population due American car culture and the desire to live in the suburbs.
