A wonderful rendition of a simple but superbly beautiful song. An elementary school teacher in the 1950s taught us this song and hearing this once more after almost 65 years brought back happy memories of my schoolboy years at F. Balagtas Elem. Sch. at Sta. Cruz, Manila, Philippines. Thanks for posting, you're marvelous.
This is my favorite song and the presentation by Judith Durham is the icing on the cake. In my 93rd year, I almost always end the day listening to this rendition, although her later recordings are also great.
Judith will always be beautiful. Her voice is as strong and pitch-perfect today as it was when The Seekers first stormed the world of music. Whenever I see or hear her, I fall deeply in love again and again, in the nicest possible way, of course. Top of admiration.
So wonderful. Tears in my eyes for such a lovely song sung by this angel. God bless you Judith and a speedy recovery. Thank you so much for posting. Brian Jacobi. New Zealand
See the English Wikipedia articles on "A Perfect Day (song)" and its author/composer Carrie Jacobs-Bond (1862-1946). And thanks, Denny161853, for re-posting Judith Durham's stunning rendition of this Jacobs-Bond song. It is, IMHO, the best.
Doggon right she knows how to finish! She has always had the beginning and middle taken care of too, on every song she ever did. So much soul in such a small, lovely package. To me she is a genuine, one of a kind, world class treasure.
This really does show off that fabulously clear voice and her ability to touch those notes with silky precision, You are very special Judith, God bless and keep you.
From Judith's 1970 TV special 'Meet Judith Durham'. I recorded it by sneaking a DV recorder into the National TV archive in London - here's the complete HQ version: @
I just watched Ethel and Ernest and I learnt this song exists, this woman's voice is SO BEAUTIFUL. Is she the original singer? Even if she's not, I like this version a LOT, her voice is so clear and beautiful.
She has the kind of total beauty that is almost impossible to describe. I would even say that if she were blonde it would not be the same thing. Her dark hair and eyes provide a sense of "cozyness" to her incredible beauty which is rewarding to the senses. Almost any man gets touched by her.
Thomas Kallmyrför 1 sekund sedanFantastic Voice of Judith Durham, and Three men and they have been together so long, like a Family should be.....mostly there are Divorcing and in Berlin, who many is still after one year together after marriage,of 66 pairs only ONE PAIR still together.....
A most beautiful song in what I consider to be the best rendition of the original version. I usually respect other people´s taste and choice of music, but it´s beyond me how anyone can dislike any song done by lovely Judith Durham. I wonder why she never recorded this gem of a song. It would´ve sold billions. If i´m wrong please inform me on where I can find such a recording. Bless you all.

I was privileged to see the Seekers perform at the Civic Theatre in Johannesburg about 50 years ago. They haven't lost their sparkle.

Such a beautiful lady with a beautiful voice, and more importantly, a beautiful heart.
Sweet and softness surrounds Judith whenever she sings. Can heaven be so

What a glorious example of a fine woman.
She makes my didgeridoo sound like a didgeridont.
Her flowing locks a beautiful dark auburn.
Her body weight perfection.
Her eyes crystal pools.
Her voice angelic.
For she is indeed the stuff dreams are made of.
Dear Judith ,
the Lord has made you with the utmost attention to detail.
