    The brilliance of this episode is how it portrays Homer’s “dream” job not as something that is not impossible to obtain but as something quite achievable that he has a genuine passion for. His enthusiasm makes him productive and rubs off on everyone, he’s liked by the bowlers and in turn respected by them. He gives all of his attention to the alleys with joy. It shows you don’t need to have a high paying job to be happy in yourself, it’s better to follow your heart and your interests and you will naturally be outstanding at your job.
    This to me is the real, wholesome value I get from these older episodes that you just don’t see in the new ones any more.

      I may be over analyzing but if you re-watch the Frank Grimes episode (and I'm talking to the part where Kent Brockman shows the video package featuring Grimes) the mailman is seen giving Grimes' diploma behind a typical house. I assumed Frank lived there first before it got destroyed or he got kicked out somehow. Knowing how much bad luck Grimes has, it's not unfeasible. Even if he did live next to the bowling alley at the time, he never said he lived next to the Bowl-O-Rama. He could of lived next to a different one.

Watching that episode made it sound like Homer didn't care about Frank Grimes' story, but when put into perspective of this episode, Homer probably didn't even realize Grimes was ranting about having to live in an apartment above and below a bowling alley because that'd be like a dream for Homer.

      Worked at a restaurant. It was a hard job but the boss was amazing and genuinely supportive of me. And I did my best to do what he needed of me in turn.
      Then the CEO of the restaurant company came in, one of the richest people in Berlin, and was like "We are overstaffed here for the season. Fire the two newest arrivals"
      It was also the same day I invited my family there for a meal on my employee discount.
      That's the day I got radicalised.

      I would like to see Lisa from season 31 go back to the Classic Simpsons era to see her past self. She would've seen how much happier her past self was in being a normal kid and having friends at school. The current Lisa would've realized how much of an SJW she had become currently and realize why everyone hated her in first place. Her past self may be intelligent like her, but she still enjoys doing normal activities in hanging out with her friends and spending time with her family. The current Lisa realized how much she forgotten the simple joys of living a normal life because she felt like she was the only genius in a family of idiots.

    • @ladyfire44
      @ladyfire44 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Lisa in the shorts and the 1st four episodes of Season 1 showed she was a female Bart. She didn't develop her own personality until after the later episodes of season 1 when she became intelligent. Throughout Seasons 2-6, Lisa was smart and a normal kid who had friends. It was season 7's Lisa the Vegetarian, that made her very unlikable when she tried to force her views on everyone to give up eating meat and be vegetarians. The town found it annoying and made fun of her. Lisa took the intolerance to a whole new level by ruining Homer's BBQ party and pushing the roasted pig down the hill with a lawnmower. It was at the secret garden escape on top of the Kwik-E-Mart, that Apu finally talked to her about her problems. While he understands Lisa's frustration over everyone continuing to eat meat, he also warns her that forcing her views on them to give up meat and be vegetarians can do a lot more harm than help. It was there she learned a hard lesson in her intolerance towards meat eaters
