  • Our travels take us off grid and we continue to push further with the goal of staying out longer. We love to mountain bike ride. However, many of the backcountry style trails are “out and back” and often being over 20+ miles one way. The elevation can be in the thousands of vertical feet. We’ve accomplished difficult rides like this over the years but it’s difficult and requires rest days afterward.
Trek Rail may be the solution we need! Our average ride of 10-15 miles now can be 20-30 miles with similar physical exertion. This has also made it possible to ride 20+ miles back to back without rest days. Game Changer!
The lingering question has been… How far can the bike go? How far can we go? We attempted to find the limits in the video today.

Excellent and entertaining video- thanks! Question please. Nasty goat head stickers from tumbleweeds...tires have liners or Slime in the tubes?

Thanks! We are running tubeless with Muc Off sealant. It's really the best way to go especially in Arizona with everything that pokes tires. :)

What is the location you rode at? Looks like AZ but could be New Mexico maybe?

What capacity is the battery in the small? I have a rail 5 ( though it’s far from stock ) and it only has a 500wh battery. Looking to upgrade that to at least a 625wh

It has 625wh battery. Faith keeps up well... guessing less weight helps. Mine has the 750wh. Mostly overkill when less than 25 miles.

@@TruckCamper yeah I was looking at carbon ones but for me it was a case of get what’s in front of me or wait who knows how long. I’m loving it though! And hi from Australia!

Presume you're lighter than Peter, rider all up weight a big factor for range

Guessing that may play a big factor...
