    Easily one of the best BR600 maintenance videos I have seen on TH-cam. Thank you for taking the time to explain what you did and why you did it.

    I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

    Nice job! Simple, straight forward and not overly technical. Thanks for not pretending to be a pro and showing people how they can do the job without knowing the name of everything.
    You are correct. This motor the intake valve is closest to the carburetor, not always the case. Above the flywheel is the coil, I'm pretty sure you just blanked the name. When adjusting the valves you want to make the adjustment without the feeler gauge in place. Make the adjustment then check for accuracy.
    I have 45 years of wrenching and it's nice to see people keeping it simple.

    I did my first tune up in many years this weekend. Wish I saw this first. Nice thorough video. My BR600 is slightly older maybe. Different fuel filter set up mine only has one and on a short hose. Pulled it off when I reached in the tank to grab it. Found it was relatively easy to remedy by removing the fuel tank and pulling the plug where the air and fuel hose enter. Hook it up and chuck it back in. Getting the plug to reseat properly was not as easy.

      @@PrecisionCSGO I’m guessing. My father-in-law owned it. He only used it for personal use from time to time. However, after adjusting the valves and seeing how much excess lash it had, maybe he used it more than I thought.😀. Good question though.

    Feeler gauge is .10mm or .004".
    Easier way to find top dead is just line the S on the crank with the 2nd notch on the stator on the compression stroke.

    For the northern folk using your blower in colder months to blow snow, that black egg shaped piece behind the air filter can be loosened and swiveled up to aid in breathing more warmer air into the intake.

    My first one was 150 bucks probably had 1000 maybe 2000 hours on it. On number two. It cost more but was slightly run over with a trailer. Made one good one and have had to swap some parts back and forth and get a stens pull cord assembly but still really impressed with commercial magnum. Will buy a new 800 or low hour used one eventually.

    You can tell this throttle cable needs to be tightened, btw. It's sitting up above flush when you straighten out the group of wires.
    The small screw to adjust it is actually in the trigger. A small flat head.

    Great information, and video! My elbow on the exhaust blower tube while in use has started swiveling out to the right, and it makes it uncomfortable to operate. The dealer replaced elbow, but it continues to work back out away from the blower? Any suggestions on what may be wrong or what is causing it to kick out to the right? Thanks again, in advance! I have a Stihl BR600 it keeps getting fuel into the air box coming from the carburetor, especially at first start-up of the day, but runs good. Have you ever gotten fuel into the air box/air filter? Someone told me fuel tank vent could be plugged?

    • @albuquerquegroundsmaintena3818
      @albuquerquegroundsmaintena3818  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I havent but it possibly could be the vent. Next time you see that loosen the gas cap and see if it stops.

    • @andyhendrickson5619
      @andyhendrickson5619 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have had to remove the black vent (on top of the tank) and clean it. I smelled gas all the time because it leaked if tipped. It could also cause the tank to not vent, and you hear the pressure release (and may get sprayed) when you remove the cap. If someone put the hoses on incorrect or the thing was on it's side I could see fuel going the wrong way back into the carb and soaking the filter. bottom line is there is an issue and it's not the spark.

    • @Bigc81
      @Bigc81 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s either your tank vent or your metering valve in the carb. Do the vent first as it’s cheap and easy, if that doesn’t fix it the rebuild the carb or replace carb depending on you knowledge. Had same problem. Mine was the metering valve and I rebuilt the carb. Works great now

      Some of these carburetors with age have a tendency to leak. Best advice is to simply replace it with a new one. As for the hard to pull problem. It points to the Carburetor, they could also leak internally and get into the cylinder which makes it harder to pull. As before best to replace with a new OEM Carburetor.

    even though it's only 4 years old and totally clean, when I pull the cord, it will not rewind very far
    When I loosen off the 3 holding screws, the rope suddenly springs into the cover
    But it means I cannot use the recoil starter as I could before I removed it!!
