This channel is the goat let’s be real. I hate to sound like I’m getting paid by them but I’m not even subscribed and I’ve been watching their walkthroughs for years like movies
3 things that made this game will be my number 1 favourite for long long time :
1. The storytelling was so good to the point where i couldn't wait to watch the next cutscenes.
2. The character buildings are very captivating. I'm now fans of bajie, that pig who reminds me of that friend who always being a jerk infront of us, but will do everything to help when we are in trouble.
3. The graphic is top notch. Just look at the grassland where violet spider died. When the wind blows, we can see the flower powder, wilted leaves, their long hair, all move in the same direction. It was a cinema quality that really close to pixel studio.
This game is amazing. Really a rare one. Worth every cents of the price
Good storytelling and character build? LoL very low standart for your brain I guess.
This is ancient Chinese mythology but also based on Chinese Zen/Tao/Philosophy. To appreciate the deeper meanings hidden behind all those details in the game, one could check out the Chinese novel “A journey to the west” or the Chinese Zen Book “How to be Happy: the Wisdom to Attain Happiness and Success by Constructing an Invincible Mind”.

Plot :
After successfully escorting Tang Sanzang and recovering the Buddhist scriptures, Sun Wukong ascends to Buddhahood, but ultimately rejects immortality to live on his mountain in peace. However, the Celestial Court is angered that Sun Wukong would disobey them, and sends an army led by Erlang to force him to return to the Court. Sun Wukong duels Erlang, but is ultimately defeated and sealed in a stone. However, right before he is sealed, Sun Wukong manages to split his power into six Relics, each one corresponding to one of Wukong's six-senses (the same six-senses of Āyatana, a Buddhist philosophy), that are scattered and hidden all across China.
Over the next few centuries, the Monkeys of Mount Huaguo would send out a number of young warriors to try and recover the Relics so they can revive and free Sun Wukong. One such Monkey (who becomes known as the Destined One) sets out on his quest to find the Relics.
He first heads to the burnt down ruins of Guanyin Temple and recovers the first Relic, Sun Wukong's "eyes", by defeating Black Bear Guai, who apologizes and claims he was forced by the Court to oppose the Destined One.
The Destined One then heads to Yellow Wind Ridge where he defeats the Yellow Wind Sage and recovers the Bodhisattva Lingji's severed head. As thanks, Lingji hands over the second Relic which he had been protecting.
The Destined One continues his journey to the mountains, where he frees Zhu Bajie from imprisonment and they both defeat Yellowbrow. Maitreya then thanks them for defeating Yellowbrow, who had stolen his artifacts as well as the third Relic, and he gives the Relic to the Destined One.
The Destined One and Bajie then journey to the lair of the Spider Demons to find the fourth Relic, but Bajie is captured by the matriarch, the Violet Spider, who plans to marry and then devour him for having "ruined" her centuries earlier. The Destined One rescues Bajie and battles both the Violet Spider and the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master, resulting in both of their deaths and the possession of the fourth Relic.
The Destined One and Bajie continue their journey to the Forest of Embers, where they find Red Boy attempting to steal the fifth Relic from the Bull Demon King. The Destined One defeats Red Boy, who commits suicide to avoid the humiliation of defeat and allowing the Destined One to take possession of the fifth Relic.
With five of the Relics now in their possession, the Destined One and Bajie return to Mount Huaguo to find the sixth and final Relic. On the way, they find that Sun Wukong's old weapons and armour have been hidden around the region, so they decide to recover them before the Court can. They then reach the summit of Mount Huaguo where the Destined One discovers that, as the "Destined One", he was also the sixth relic, Sun Wukong's mind, and that his true role is not to revive Sun Wukong per se, but to inherit Sun Wukong's name and powers and become his new incarnation. In order to complete the transmigration transformation, the Destined One is forced to battle Sun Wukong's mindless stone body. Upon the defeat of Sun Wukong's stone body, multiple endings are possible:
In the default ending, The Destined One fails to inherit Sun Wukong's legacy, and his body remains trapped inside the rock waiting for a new Destined One.
If the Destined One defeated Erlang in an optional boss fight prior to the final battle, he successfully inherits Sun Wukong's memories.

On the surface, Journey to the West is about defeating demons and monsters, but at a deeper level, it talks about the struggles and transactions between ruling, being ruled, and political factions, as well as the resistance of the Great Sage (the people). This novel, written in the 16th century, describes the social rights rules of that time, but it is still valid for today's Chinese society, and even for the interpretation of social rules in most countries, it is still very effective.

@@aniketanand8451 story is behind the original journey to the west - huge setting you have to read it first. Also every time you kill a new guai the journal gets updated you have to spend time to read them but again lots of reference to the original story.,..
fun fact: At the start of the boss fight, Erlang, is a true chinese god, that is wu kong's rival. wukong is said to have 72 unique powers and Erlang have 73 unique powers so technical erlang should be more powerful. Much like Byakuya from bleach, Erlang is often cold and emotionless. Have highest standards of conduct and expects the same from those around him. Which is why he cannot stand Wukong's mischievous act

They both only have 72. Erlang has the dog and it's a well know joke to say Erlang has 73 due to the dog. The Demon Bull King also possessed 72 transformation technique.

Just be aware that this is the first ending, as the hoop is a curse for Wukong. The first ending represents the player having not completed the whole game (e.g., hidden chapters) but only passed through the main chapters, and thus, the hoop is back to the player for being a new Wukong, carrying on with the curse.
So far the second ending with completing all the hidden chapters, it end up with fighting Erlang, and also reveals a deeper mission of the story that he's actually a part of the plan, to help the Wukong to get rid of the curse hoop and to do so, Wukong has to die first. Apparently, there are 5 different endings in total, but so far we have only seen 2.
Guess I will play it when I have at least 3 months completely free.

I think the other endings will be added with future DLC. It was originally supposed to be 13 chapters but the devs almost ran out of money so they basically released IMO a pretty good 6 chapters worth.

From every little environmental detail to the fluid, satisfying combat, they nailed this release. Meanwhile, Western companies are too busy trying to be inclusive and tiptoeing, afraid of being “cancelled.” Meanwhile, this company releases this masterpiece. Well deserved!

★ This is the story of what happened at the end of chapter 1:
• It is said that long, long ago, a young novice monk wandered deep into the forest and unexpectedly encountered a colossal Black Bear Guai. Yet, contrary to expectations, the bear did not devour the monk but instead gifted him a sack filled with gold and silver. The bear then guided the novice to a secluded temple at the foot of the mountain.
• From a young child, the novice diligently cultivated his practice and eventually became the revered abbot, leading hundreds of monks. He developed a profound passion for collecting kasayas (Buddhist robes), accumulating and wearing countless robes until he believed no other could possibly pique his interest.
• One day, the abbot met Tang Sanzang, the master of Sun Wukong. Enchanted by Tang Sanzang's exquisite kasaya, the abbot borrowed it. Influenced by the cunning schemes of Guangzhi and Guangmou to steal the kasaya and burn Tang Sanzang's quarters, the abbot's long-dormant desires resurfaced. Consumed by greed, he set fire to the temple, causing the deaths of countless monks. The precious kasaya, however, fell into the hands of Black Bear Guai. Overwhelmed by grief and remorse, the abbot struck his head against a wall, ending his life.
• Despite years of cultivation under the guidance of the Bodhisattva Guan Yin, Black Bear Guai remained perplexed. Why had the young novice resisted the allure of wealth yet succumbed to the temptation of a mere kasaya?
• The Bodhisattva Guan Yin smiled and replied, "Without that kasaya, how could sentient beings discern whether their attachments and desires to the mundane world had truly been severed?
- Because he was protected by Sun Wukong, Tang Sanzang slept soundly until morning, only to awaken and find the entire temple reduced to ashes.
★ This is the story of what happened at the end of chapter 4:
• Tian Peng Yuan Shuai was deeply infatuated with Tai Yin Xing Jun. While persistently pursuing her, he accidentally bumped into Tai Yin Xing Jun's maid, Chang'e. From that moment, Chang'e fell deeply in love with him at first sight. One day, while spying on Tai Yin Xing Jun, he discovered a secret affair between her and the Jade Emperor. Upon being caught, he was banished to the mortal realm.
• In the mortal realm, Tian Peng found love with a noble maiden in Gao family. Their union was blissful until a celestial decree transformed him into the swine-like creature, Zhu Bajie.
• Chang’e, was banished to the mortal realm and transformed into a monstrous arachnid due to her forbidden affection for the mortal, Zhu Bajie. Upon their reunion, they kindled a passionate love, enduring until Zhu Bajie embarked on a pilgrimage to the West with the monk Tang Sanzang. Despite the passage of five centuries, during which she aged into a withered crone, Chang’e persisted in her unwavering devotion, awaiting Zhu Bajie’s eventual return.
- Afraid that the Heavenly Court would kill Chang'e (now a giant spider demon), he refused to accept Chang'e and the child and turned away.
+ Even the mighty Sun Wukong was defeated by the Heavenly Court.
+ Even the mighty Bull Demon King couldn't save his family from falling apart.
- What could Zhu Bajie do?
★ This is the story of what happened at the end of chapter 5:
• The scene takes place immediately after the first battle with Yang Jian in the game. Yang Jian begins to distribute Wukong's six senses to his subordinates. The Bull Demon King receives the physical body. At this moment, Wukong remarks that his brother has always made wrong choices in his life. The Bull Demon King then recalls the time when he followed Sun Wukong in resisting the imperial court.

- This is the first mistake:
• Subsequent to his great upheaval in the Heavenly Palace, Wukong was incarcerated beneath the Five Elements Mountain. As for the Bull Demon King, his consort was coerced by the celestial authorities to imbibe the river's waters, resulting in the birth of the Red Boy. Upon learning of this, he desired to disown his offspring. Yet, the Red Boy harbored affection for his father until witnessing his father's cowardice.
• Subsequently, in compliance with the celestial decree, the entire family assumed the roles of trials and tribulations, obstructing the pilgrimage of the Sage and his disciples.

- This is the second mistake.
• As a result, the brothers were beaten by Sun Wukong. The son became a Divine Child of Great Talent and followed Guan Yin Bodhisattva. The first wife lost the Three-Burning Fan. The second wife was killed by Zhu Bajie.
• Excessive losses provoked the Bull Demon King into a frenzy, forcing the Heavenly Court to dispatch Li Jing, Nezha, and the Four Heavenly Kings to suppress him. Ultimately, he was slain by Nezha... Yet, in truth, the Bull Demon King had not perished.
• Having successfully retrieved the sacred scriptures, the Monkey King ascended to Buddhahood. However, he soon realized that he remained bound by the Heavenly Court, as the golden headband continued to adorn his head. Thus, he once more rose up in defiance against the celestial realm.
• Ironically, the Bull Demon King, once a sworn brother to the Monkey King, now aligns himself with the Heavenly Court to pursue his former comrade.

- This is the third mistake:
• Before vanishing, the Great Sage Equaling Heaven declared, "Despite any meritorious deeds or exalted station, the Celestial Realm would inevitably persecute demons of our kind, myself and the Bull Demon King included."
• He further advised to stay away from the six sense organs that the Sun Wukong had left behind, as they would bring misfortune in the future.
• Since that fateful parting, the Bull Demon King has borne the burden of a fragment of the Monkey King's six sense organs, self-imposed in solitary confinement for countless years. Despite relentless demands, including those from the Red Boy, he steadfastly refused to relinquish it. This enduring captivity was finally broken upon meeting the player.

This game is insane, the game of year for sure, nice graphics, story on point, details, man the amount of the details is just wow!!!
MK is the one who can use Wukong's skills and spells the most gorgeously, beautifully and powerfully among all the people I have seen. Salute to him, he is a legend! My favorite is the fight between the two Wukongs in the last chapter, it is so gorgeous! I am so excited to watch it!

Observations about the game, which is a work of art! 1 - The scenarios really had some repetitive aspects, but at the same time, there are elements with many details of the paths, mountains, slopes. Great gameplay, I disagree with the difficulties because it is a different proposal from Soulslike even though the game has aspects of Soulslike, the game makes you want to play the New Game + Just like Elden Ring which is something very well done, it makes sense to play New Game Plus in this game, much more than others. 4 - The animations are very intelligent, with countless details, something that other games with animations don't know how to do, the design work of the clothes and accessories are well done, connecting Chinese culture and mythology. 5 - The game works the dopamine aspect of neuroscience in the players in a very well done way, you get curious when you meet each boss, and each chapter that ends, and it always delivers very well. 6 - The ending ends excellently, notice that the game really grows in every way, the map grows, the skills, the costumes, the character building and secrets, the interest of playing about Sun Wukong and Chinese mythology, the bosses grow, and in the end where we have the ending and secret boss along with the normal final battle, it shows the big cherry on the cake, and it still ends with two EXCELLENT soundtracks. Black Myth Wukong WOULD DESERVE THE GAME OF THE YEAR FOR SURE! So far it is my number 1, and number 2 Elden Ring DLC... Number 3 I don't know yet. I hope all players continue to study about art, video games and cinema because they are all interconnected! See ya buddy!
One thing that pissed me off was them labelling the plant 'jade lotus' when they designed it to look like a WATER LILLY. THEY ARE TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PLANTS. Lotus leaves and flowers rise out of the water, lily pads sit on the surface.

I am a Chinese, I personally think the black myth Wukong is a masterpiece, but not quite. Because there are so many ridiculous air walls in the game, and the game is not very well optimized, a bit stuck (I have 2080 OBS, do not know how the other configuration of the people playing) . It's so sad to behold this guy can't socialize or talk anymore. I remember back in the days like 2007 or something this guy channel was called Mack and ice. They were most likely gay couple and streamer lot together playing games. Was very popular among with the gay and lgbt community. But one time this guy stopped showing himself and went quiet. There were rumours that his partner died and he got depressed but he never talk or type openly in youtube with his fans after the incident. It's a very sad tale to be told.
