A bit of clickbait title, but definitely one of the better ones of it's kind. They put some effort into this. It also doesn't have any of those dodgy silent parts with no subs and such. Definitely worth watching.
The problem with Chinese movies nowadays is that they don't want to improve movie scripts. China cinematic is so cheap they work on a small budget relying on old storyline tactics to sale only. By now, one would think that China could have made a reasonable Wukong movie with solid CGI.
Journey to the West is a Buddhist allegory. The monkey represents our highly emotional heart-mind called 心 Xin. Xuanzang represents our 意 Yi, our wisdom mind of clear intent. Cultivation is a practice to unify them. It seems a lot of these modern adaptations are missing its true point.
here's the only thing that was picked up in our video is that having fun and celebrating is not permanent, you don't know what will happen to you later or tomorrow, you don't know if it's your last day in the world
