Kansas City Southern de Mexico "Grey Ghost" AC44 leads intermodal train on the CPKC Davenport Sub

I haven't been home long, but there definitely is a new railroad in town. CPKC's new Mexico-Midwest Express is providing seamless intermodal and freight service between Mexico City and Chicago. This train on 5/22 was lead by a rare KCSM "Grey Ghost" AC44. There are only around 20 of these locomotives left, so they are very rare on a railroad as big as what CPKC now is. I have seen several of these locomotives before, but never leading. With nothing better to do, I chased this train from Davenport all the way to Clinton. Along the way, I saw a pair of UP trains meeting at the 5th street crossover. After driving back to Davenport, I ended the day by catching a friend of mine as the conductor on the Nahant to Bensenville manifest. It's gonna take a while before seeing stack trains on the line that I have grown up watching feels normal.

Really cool video, love that opening shot with the CP park as the Grey Ghost glides past it, just awesome! Love the shot as it goes under the bridges, through the small tree tunnel etc.. Really well done video, and the lighting in that last shot with the UP leader is outstanding, great video! -Ken

3:15 what a cool double Decker truss bridge I’m wondering if the top deck has a railroad track line

Yes, it does. The top deck of the bridge is the Iowa Interstate railroad. Here is a video of mine from several years ago of a perfect over-under meet between a CP and IAIS train at that location th-cam.com/video/l4vc6y8iKMU/w-d-xo.html
