I've always wanted Warlord to produced a Bolt Action Vietnam.

Great figure review, appreciate both the overview of each sprue and the close-ups of finished models. Well done!

We need a Bolt Action Vietnam, these figures are made for it

It has been a long way from the early Airfix multiposes kits, it's strange that no one tought of making such figures before. Naturally this kind of minis are open to an endless way of conversions👍
P.s. it's a good thing that the VCinis are really shorter than the US' ones, human beings, expecially in that times, were of different heights.

I wouldn't mind seeing a sprue of these included in a future issue of WI.

Nice idea, but most of the weapons would probably be broken.

I enjoy the hobby aspect of Wargaming and I will be honest with you. The multi part kits are get better when all is said and done. The level of detail you get from a multi part kit is very rewarding. Yes it’s not for beginners and I wouldn’t suggest build a massive army with these kits but play skirmish games. Also using the correct glue is in order as well. I would not suggest using a super glue but instead use a liquid plastic cement. The liquid plastic cement will hold the pieces together and allow you to move your pieces into place and you usually get a minute of play time before the plastic sets.

love the build part of the hobby...already picked up the figure bundle direct from rubicon. Saved a few$$ that way. Fitgures are excellent prints.

Go check out Rubicon, their models are excellent I've a small tank park of their stuff and theyre so much better than other 28mm resin options. And their resin stuff is unlike anything else out there.

The faces of some of those marines are clearly African American and that pleases me. I mean; don't get me wrong, a mini head is a mini head but to go the extra mile to add a flair of ethnicity to the head sculpt is great. It adds just that tiny touch of realism and humanism to the mini.

    • @jambot4621
      @jambot4621 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Yes this is something I should have mentioned as another positive but with so much to cover a few things inevitably got missed. I was pleased to see that the head sculpts reflected the large number of African Americans who were involved in the conflict.

These Rubicon figures are fantastic! Being a modeler, not a gamer, I hate the silly "Flames of War" figures, "Warlord Games" or "Bolt Action" figures that have gigantic, ridiculous looking heads and weapons. To me they must be realistic. I build 1/72, 1/48, 1/35 armor and figures, plus I collect 1:18 21st Century Toys and Ultimate Soldier--their armor is fantastic but the 1:18 figures leave a lot to be desired. The question is: I am very impressed with the Rubicon line, but do I want to start a whole new scale?!

I’ve bought both these and the next sets and their hard to put together but are extremely awesome and the plastic is there to keep pieces from getting lost if they fall off because the price is a bit much

@@jambot4621 the army used them plenty one can see that in pictures. Marines carried a first aid kit in the center of the belt and two canteens on each side of it . Then they might carry a K-Bar and there two M-16 ammo pouches. The E-Tool would be on there Alice Pack. I’m not saying that maybe there wasn’t one or two who came across a butt pack and used it but, the Army and Marines weren’t mixed up in viet nam. I have asked many marine infantry vets if they had butt packs they all said no. I have one that I carry as a man bag.

What is written on paper is a platoon.
What is actually deployed in the field, if not a full platoon, as defined on paper, is an under strengthed platoon or something else.

@@thomaschase7097 I go more for the feel and character of the period so for me these are more than enough to make a platoon. But of course if you want it exact you'll need two boxes. I do actually say that the sets are perfect for skirmish or platoon level gaming, rather than 'you only need one set for it' in the vid, which they are, so neither of us are wrong either way! :)

@@thomaschase7097 Then I would have thought that you should have sent an e-mail to Rubicon. I did belong to a Bolt Action f/b page and these figures have been around in prototype form for some while. i also noticed the U.s were wearing flak jackets, not universality worn in battle or on patrol.
