Thank you!! As a new spey caster your videos have been really helpful. You have a knack for simplifying casts and making them easy to learn. Thank you for taking the time to share your expertise.

in one of your other videos you said "slow is fast" I really try to tell myself that when I am casting and it helps. thank you for the good lessons.

I like your style of teaching, Jedi. I have learned a great deal from watching your videos, something I do every day, especially after casting practice. While I admit it has been a struggle for me at my age, I am getting it together. I have noticed, though, that my snake roll rotates in the opposite direction of yours when setting up an upstream Perry Poke. Quickly unravels when rotating your way. I believe that maneuver is a leftover from my earlier days tossing the XLT spey line. I sure find my version of the snake roll more fun than doing the mainstay snap-T. Anyway, thanks again.

Much appreciated ! Loved the demonstrations on both short head (skagit) and long head (mid belly) lines. Having had it easy with short heads, I was having issues with a longer belly line. Having picked up a 63' Gaelforce Equalizer line, I had issues with snake roll casts and I now see the techniques for different lines using slightly different timing and line placement! An A+ video!

Great stuff. Snake roll has to be the most satisfying of all the casts and without a doubt the best looking one! That lake looks very cold! It's not that much better here in the UK. Only 11 days to go before I'm freezing my nuts off in the river Tyne! Looks like I'll be fishing in snow. Hope you have a great season!

Got to admit, the snake roll is extremely efficient if the conditions are right for it.

Nice video and good casting as usual!
When you do the first forward stroke (the beginning of the nine) is it in the same direction where you want the fly to land when you deliver the cast?
Or is it in some other direction, more to the right or left?
    Keep up the good work!

      Thanks for replying!
I'm just starting learn/understanding snakeroll in my case with a long belly.
And I think your video explaining it good! I also think it's easier to go little over to the left instead of aiming at the target in the start of the cast.
I'am glad to hear from you I'm on right track so far!
Now I just need a lot of practice then the ice in Sweden melt and I can start speycast again.

      Thanks Tim!
Good that you have the knowledge and can explain in a good way! And you are generous to share with us others.
Now I know what to think of when I practice snakeroll with long belly!
