I first heard Elton in 1975 at age 16 when a friend played the Madman album for me... from that day forward I was a die-hard EJ fan. Now I'm 65, own every album/tape/cd that has been released and still listen to something by EJ every single day. Ray Cooper inspired me to learn percussion... I still haul out my kit bag to play along with Elton. Bernie and Elton's music is the soundtrack of my life. Who else is here checking this out in 2024?
Элтон Джон меня вдохновляет на ЖИЗНЬ, хорошие поступки!!! Здоровья богатырского ему и его близким , пусть живет долго, долго!!!
He's still going and still bringing me to tears after 46 years! I see him next month on my 3 year sober anniversary date
9 18 22!
You missed a 0. Point still well taken
I'm a HUGE Elton John fan, and in my humble opinion, this is his absolute BEST live performance out there..
IT IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE FOR SURE
I was nine years old when I first saw The Lion King, and thats what drew me to Elton's music. I always knew of him, but never him, So I sporadically listen to a song here and there. Then when I was 12 years old I got "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" for Xmas. And I put the cd in and Funeral/Bleeding began to play. I blasted that song a dozen times that day and it made me an Elton fan for life.
I was at this concert, and was BLOWN AWAY. So much so that I ended up buying tickets for the other two nights! There will never be another Elton....he is on a completely different level.
Totally agree! Saw The One tour in Paris, France...was 19 and dreaming the greatest dream I think I've ever had! In the past 30 years, Saw him live 22 times... and still love him more than ever! Best regards from Paris, France ! 🙏🔥❤️🔥🙏👍🤩
Согласна! Он совершенно на другом уровне!!!
Watched this live on TV Saw him couple years earlier in Shea Stadium with Eric Clapton
Many people will remember Elton when he is gone. But this is it. His voice and piano are matched. This is Elton at his most mature talent.
This performance is a testament to Elton's colossal ability to fill in all the missing parts. And of course it wasn't possible without Ray Cooper. I wish more people could see this. This is the performance he should be remembered for, in my opinion.
I agree. May be his best concert ever.
@@gordongrant444 yes, definitely one of his best.
1979 Russia comes ro mind as well.
And new york 1999
Saw him with Ray Cooper at the Hollywood bowl around 1995. Best concert I ever attended. For me, Ray and Sir Elton were the perfect compliment to each other
Very well put, i completely agree
Concordo, totalmente!
I was there that night! the first night it was dreadfully cold, and he stormed off stage! This was the Disney Aids Benefit concert, and I and my date were beyond happy to be there that night! I will never forget it. We had no tickets on night two, and went to the window of the Greek, and a couple were ahead of us. The tickets they wanted were about $400 a piece, and they told the ticket person, "let us think about it!" We walked up and said sold! And bought them. The ticket guy looks at us, and says your very lucky. Your real close to the stage, and these were the only two tickets left! We actually sat by Donny Osmond. LOL There was a chill in the air that night intermingled with that beautiful music, as you sat and stood by someone you love! I have been to all his shows for year's, and quite honestly this was one of the best of all time's, and thankfully it was caught before his voice, is as it is today! I can only imagine if he had done a concert like this prior to the nodule surgery! Well he kind of did with Ray "The Single Man tour" But his repertoire of hits was lacking back then, compared to now! Great post, but please add more, if you have it? By the way! When I was there, and he sang The Last Song, it was just amazing, and touched my heart and soul! As well go to @33:00 minutes on here! What an amazing song, I'll leave it at that! And of course any time Ray Cooper is in attendance, your in for a treat! I will never forget this night, the one I spent it with, nor the almost 20 years since that night which has just seemed to fly by. Now making me now Elton's age that he was the night I was at this concert! Don't waste time my friend's, it waits for no man!
Hi gahloot,
I have other live of Sir Elton John, in April, i will upload some others, you will see.
Great can't wait! Is their anywhere you can get these DVD's? It will remain a very special night for me!
The next live of Sir Elton John will be in april, and it's a rare show with ray cooper, the live of south africa in 1993, there's no full concert of the show, some part.
was the first night the aids benefit concert?
i went to the aids benefit with my son. and if this first night was for that reason, i think we went the night before this concert.
outstanding.
i have loved elton's music since i was 15 and it was such a thrill for me to take my son who loved his music too.
gahloot Wow, it must have been magical to see this concert in person. He is pure musical brilliance and is on fire here. Ray Cooper is bringing that percussion to the next level too.
“The one” absolutely outstanding piano playing and vocals, genius at work!
niet alleen een geweldigge stem maar wat een goede pianist!!!!!!!
I saw sir Elton and Ray Cooper at the Hollywood bowl in 1996. Not a huge Elton fan but that was the best concert I ever went to. Cooper made the show
What a brilliant performance. I wish I would have been at this concert.
Elton is the Mozart of our time, blessed with talent.
Elton's ability on the piano really is showcased when he's not with his band. By having to fill in all the parts on the piano, it shows his true creativeness as a musician. He's the Beethoven of our time.
Never get rid of listenig at this celestial exibition...the best i have ever heard....Ray is extraordinary indeed !!!!!! and he was unknown to me (my fault )...what a great suprise !!!!
What i alway loved about Elton is you can watch him with a huge orchestra or you can watch a whole concert with just him. True musician, these songs were written on the piano, stripped down so he can always play them that way if he chooses. His melodies will go down as some of the greatest ever written and he still constantly tours when he could of retired so long ago because he loves playing live so much. Love him and cherish him, he will not be around forever xxx
This, in my opinion, is the most fabulous concert of all time by anyone! Ray Cooper compliments perfectly, the most masterful artist of our time, Elton John!
THE ABSOLUTE BEST EVER - alreay 20 times seen and listened to!!!!!
I would pay good money just to hear him play the piano for 2 hours. If he loses his voice he would still be an amazing concert pianist.
+TheDiabethick Loses. Looses is, in no way, a word. Lose has one 'o', as does lost. Lose means 'to not win'. Loose means 'not tight'.
@@georgesriverdcc1846 shut the fuck up.
Ray is special man combined with Elton very incredible❤❤❤❤
Literally the best performance of a 20th. Century artist. Think about it.
This is pure magic! If I ever win the lottery, I want to see him preform live. It's no wonder why his shows are so expensive, because they're worth it!
I went to my first Elton concert in St. Louis. My ticket was a mere $28.00, Sept, 4, 1992. It was an amazing show'.
Yup. I paid $500 for two tx at the Hollywood Bowl. Two rows from front, dead center. Got up on stage at the end. Well worth it.
They aren't that expensive and he's touring NOW. our tickets in Charlotte 9 18 22 were $150 each. I know it's still nit cheap but it's not $500 and definately worth every penny. 🍀
He played four nights at the Greek Theater. I went to one of them. Sir Elton played an electric piano. He was not really happy with the tuning. The piano turners worked on it for awhile, Elton tried twice and he was very upset. Finally they replaced the piano, he tried and nothing... Elton told the crowd to get their money back because he was not playing on an out of tune piano.. then he decided to go with it and play anyways.. the crowd went crazy. One of the best concerts of my life...
Odiesback, you are right! I also was at that concert - magnificent despite the techical issue.
It figures he would be that way. He is a born perfectionist what else can we expect from Sir Elton John!
Everyone loves Elton and his songs bring back memories, but if you've never experienced Ray Cooper...prepare to Smile and have a hellava good time!!!
At 9:16 is Elton just spitting pure fire. Just perfect.
Ray Cooper and Elton together, just as fantastic as in Copenhagen 1979.
1:05:44 Nominated for a Grammy for best male vocal of the year for this song! - 25 years after Your Song debut!
What a tallent. Thank you sir for filling my life with your music. There will be only one Elton John.
For me the best life concert, indeed 💥💯🥰 👏👏👏🎼🎼🎼🎹🎹🎹🎹👍😎
some of his best piano here, he is so awesome.
Awesome, Elton is really one of the few artists that seem better live.
I saw this same concert in Fukuoka Japan in Feb 1995. Wow!!!! It was fantastic. It brought a tear to my eyes 3 times during the performance. It one one of the best concerts I've ever seen. I had seen him for the 2nd time.
Fastword to 2015 in Osaka. Nov 16th I saw him for the 5th time....Wow, wow , wow.
Thanks for coming Elton.
This concert is amazing! I'm listening with tears in my eyes and a huge smile on my face. Hard to believe the end is near for touring (if you believe him). Take me to the pilot from this performance shows what a great musician he truly is.
Elton John ! un grande. SUBLIME
You expect the best outta Elton, but OMG this is the best performance I've ever seen by Ray Cooper!!!!
このツアーで来日したエルトンジョンが、大阪城ホールのライブで初めて出会いました。基本、ピアノとパーカッションに衝撃的で感動したことを覚えています。好きだった子と行きました。懐かしいなあ。
I took my son to this concert but another night. It was outstanding! I love to see Elton and Ray together.
The best version of crocodile Rock i ever heard
For me …. It was the peak of your Musian creativity with the impros on the piano, due to loving energy with your new partner, now husband…. Great performance ✋👍👍👍👍👍 I am a big fan of and grew up with your music. Baught every new record…. You are part of my childhood… intensively . I love your songs
Seen this concert at Albert Hall in London. Still best gig I’ve been to. Ray cooper was amazing 😮too x
It's my favourite way to see musicians like Elton John-their voice and instrument. Here the additional percussion adds to the show. Especially the great and entertaining Ray Cooper. I had forgotten it was Cooper who accompanied Elton to Russia decades earlier.
Man, Ray's hand must be black & Blue after all that tambourine pounding. Absolute perfection on the percussion!
absolutely true...Ray is fantastic ....two geniouses giving perfect emotion...thanks, guys, from the very deep of my heart...
I am a drummer and I admire Ray Cooper. The man is a freak
Doubt it!! Rays been doing percussion and doing it for Elton since the 70's his hands have to be use to it lol
When the Beatles broke up in '70, Sir Elton had the balls to fill that "hit gap" with his own fantastic songwriting. Beautiful, deep voice. Superb piano playing (usually got his piano tracks in one or 2 takes in the studio). TOP NOTCH songwriting -- the most important thing of all. Even in his older years, the man still has that spark of mischief in his eyes and still plays hours-long sets though he's more focused on being a family man at the moment.
had the balls? He was just another singer/songwriter when he came out,but there was something unique and refreshing about him that was different than the other singer/songwriters that came out around the same time...
Seems a pretty trivial, semantic concept to criticize me on, but hey if that's how you want to spend your time.
Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics
@@felipelaser1763 its been 5 years. How do you feel now about it? Im writting my phd on your interaction here. Lol.
Elton came to the Troubador in '70, and hit the US. He didn't start here that year because the Beatles broke up, so the "balls" reference is truly fiction. In fact, he was convinced he wasn't good enough to be there--so your post moves from stretching the truth to lying about it. (Maybe if your post was more realistic, the other poster would not have made a "trivial" comment.....
(A little tip for you: if 2 things happen at similar times, it doesn't mean they are cause & effect.)
PS. There's no shame in deleting or editing.
One of the best piano players EVER.
👍🙏🔥❤️🔥🙏🤩
I will see him 2023 in Stockholm Farwell tour. I have see his consert since i was 10 years old.. and become piano player becus of his music.. he is a brilliant man ..
So many stand out live songs here. I can listen this live rendition of The One endlessly and Crocodile Rock is something truly special. I'm so jealous to those who got to see this live.
何と贅沢なライブ動画! SUPER STAR Elton John 、Thank you very much
We were at this show and it is still one of our favorite concerts of all time. Elton John is truly the best.
Love his facial expressions as he sings "The One" to his then newly-found love-of-his-life. So sweet, makes me smile.
The only entertainer left on my bucket list! Must see Elton "live" someday! The only thing holding me back is I want a front row seat when I go to see him for the thrill of my lifetime....lol.
I saw him front row a couple years ago. But, they cannot be bought. His flight attendant on his private jet goes to the nosebleeds just after the doors open and gives out the front row tickets that Elton has put aside for "the real fans". That's how we got to sit up front!
Not to trivialize some good comments here, I'll just say, "Best concert, Ever!"
Always love you Elton!
Brilliant performance, these 1993 to 1995 solo shows are excellent!
Wow! Stunning. First saw Ray performing with Elton, may 1976, Manchester, kings hall! A lifetime ago….. time goes too fast
The best concert I've seen from Elton. If he was playing ball I would say He was really on that night. Burn down the mission fabulous solo.
I love elton john music forever❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂❤❤❤😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
one of the best concerts I´ve seen on DVD/youtube. Elton is the over über mega master - his improvisation skills are top notch, the heartrending voice, the songwriting skills, his intelligence and humour and good heart supporting young artists and sportsmen* . It is not over the top - to call him the MOZART of our days - his perfect imperfections transcend him. And with his "chipelato" fingers he is quite virtuos on the piano!!!! Thank you for everything!
Saw this tour in Detroit. AMAZING!
Stacey Castle muito bommmmmm
my big bro took me along to see this concert in Melb Australia ---
As to see Elton AND Ray together had long been a dream ....
We need to see this duo again!
Saw him last week as he ends his residency in Las Vegas and goes on his farewell tour. Amazing!!! Better today than ever.
I’m a percussionist myself and saw Elton John at United center and he tours with a ton of percussion instruments
Lovely Elton John and his great songs. I love him.
Magistral. GENIO.
Oh, man! That syncopation in Levon is just freakin' awesome.
Absolute confidence 9:23 and control of the performance. Fantastic! Then a perfect execution of the solo and a perfect finish. Wow!

Great concert by a great artist. Have been lucky to see Elton play live in Rotterdam in the past.
Somente um artista como Elton John consegue colocar tanto sentimentos em sua performance. Simplesmente genial. Obrigado Elton.
Sir elton thanks.
Is a megaliotatos.
I loye you.
THE SPINOS IS ORCHESTRA.
SPINOS IS THE BIRD IN GREECE.
I saw Elton live at the Hollywood Bowl (sans Ray Cooper) and it was a great show. Beginning with Funeral for a Friend/Love lies Bleeding... Amazing.
👍🤠 I saw Elton in 75 at Dodger Stadium, wasn’t even a fan (I went to see Joe Walsh) but left a huge fan. Elton and Ray Cooper are great together, watch Elton in Russia.
One of his best concerts ever. Thank you for posting.
Excellent .. Thanks
Love this concert. Pure talent.
Indian sunset… my god. It’s a masterpiece.
Seriously, solo, the best concert of the 20 century.
Sei un grande un abbraccio Sergio
vozes divinas de épocas passadas mas jamais sera esquecida mto linda voz canções
I was there. Great to finally find this on TH-cam. One of the most memorable musical events I've every attended!
Jon, I was also there. I don't remember which of the days but I do remember thinking that I would never again experience anything like that.
este cara é sensacional!
Elton John, Tina Turner, David Bowie,Queen...🙏🔥❤️🔥🙏
bellissimo concerto
Levon made my cry
Awesome....
There is no comparison & replacement to him....
Billy Joel
Maravilhoso!!!!
Elton John canta com a alma!
Amo Elton John e suas canções!
Just magical. I cherish the older versions of the same songs, when Sir Elton's voice rose to sharper pitches, but I must say that I just loved the new interpretation as well. Thank you so much for sharing this moment with us.
O cara canta com sentimento. Bons tempos...
Simply fantastic 😊😊😊😊
minha juventude foi felizarda em termos artistas como ele, cada música marcava algo em nossas vidas. Que delícia!
Em pensar que até hoje ele é amado até pelas gerações + novas....pra sempre!
Amo muuuuuuuuuuuito Elton John
Прекрасная музыка и исполнение!
By far my favorite Take me to the Pilot.
theheavee umm I'm guessing you haven't seen him play take me to the pilot at the royal opera house with the full orchestra please watch!
Who needs a band with Ray Cooper around. Great show indeed, something tells me this was in 1995 not 1994, and Made In England was recorded in 95, might be wrong though.
I was at this concert along with some friends. Right in the front row I can promise you it was 94
I was really young when this concert happened so didn't know of Elton John just yet. I'm just now discovering this concert. My guess would be this is probably the debut of Believe, even though the album didn't come out until a year later. Maybe he already had the song recorded by this point. In fact before he played it Elton mentioned he'd been working on an album (Made in England) with his band.
Ouvir as versões de Take Me To The Pilot e Crocodile Rock (essa como uma balada), mostra-nos o quão é talentoso Sir Elton John 🙌🏼 ❤
👍🙏🔥❤️🔥🙏
This was the first Elton John concert I attended. (I have since been to a couple dozen.) The fact that my first EJ concert was captured on video is awesome.
Update: I also attended his final US concert at Dodger Stadium. So, my first and last Elton concerts were televised.
the fact that you've seen a couple dozen is awesome!
Un grande Elton y un recital sin desperdicio ninguno.
Concentre-se neste vídeo ouvindo essas musicas e uma boa viagem romântica!!!
