    All of these aftermarket software upgrades should be added to the configurator, such as range extenders and acceleration boosts, so potential buyers have all the information necessary to make an informed decision appropriate to their needs, price targets, and future upgrade desires. LR RWD Model Y qualifying for the tax credit makes it very compelling for those looking at RWD Model 3 because it has more room, more range, and better charging for about $1k less after tax credit. This assumes that the consumer is looking at cost and not 100% committed to a sedan over the shape of the Y

    • @DurfDiggler
      @DurfDiggler 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      And now we know why the RWD MY has better charging than the RWD M3.
      *I did not do any homework on this… just makes sense that if you’re only charging up to 80% then it can get there faster than the last 20%.
      Like mentioned in the video, if I were a RWD MY owner, I’d be happy knowing I can ‘safely’ charge to 100% more often without paying for the upgrade.
      Def a compelling price with the tax credit, especially with it coming off the invoice, what with all the high loan rates. (Grapevine told me the Fed just RAISED the rates).

    • @TheRealLaughingGravy
      @TheRealLaughingGravy 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Well, the fossil fuel industry is massively supported by government subsidies and tax breaks. Eliminate those, too, then watch gas prices skyrocket and we'll have a level playing field. Besides that, the transition to EVs is a necessary measure to reduce the effects of the climate crisis. We have to substantially reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. Promoting EV adoption is exactly what the government should be doing.

    I’ve been involved in murders and layoffs and the key thing is when you’re laying things off to make sure there’s a transition plan sometimes people have to leave, but you have to know where it’s going to fire your entire supercharger team without having a transition is bonkers the fact that they had to send out an email saying we’re working on figuring out who the points of contact are and we’d like some patients while we violate the contract we had with you is just silly. How is no one talking about the possibility for Tesla to spin off / sell their super charger network. It is literally the most valuable EV asset in the NA market (probably world) at this moment. It would take some of the brand value away from Tesla for sure, but would be a massive cash influx. We are talking tens to hundreds of billions of dollars. If you truly believe automation / robo taxi is the future, then major investment is likely needed, and SuperCharger network is a huge Capex sponge. Axing a huge % of workforce 3-6 months before spinning off is a common practice. It makes your P&L very attractive to potential buyers (low cost, high revenue) even if you are hurting your long term capability.

      I doubt that's his plan, but if it is, it wasn't well though-out. You do a "fat-trimming" layoff of maybe 10% to make the division more attractive to potential buyers. What he did was get rid of everybody who had anything to do with its success. Those Superchargers didn't plant themselves in the ground. This is a business - creating, operating, maintaining, and expanding an EV charging network - that literally no one has been successful at but Tesla, and he flushed its leadership and all its institutional knowledge down the toilet. It is worth a heck of a lot LESS money today than it was two weeks ago.
      I think he did it in a fit of pique as a warning to the rest of the company to toe the line, and in so doing he's thrown a huge roadblock in the path of EV adoption in the United States. Tesla's board needs to push him out before he destroys the company.

    I wonder if the 23 rwd model 3 has a software lock on the range

      RWD SR+ Model 3 is not software locked battery, it’s a different battery than the AWD LR or Performance. That’s why charging limits and speeds are different for the RWD vs AWD

      Good question, and fortunately no, it really is the real capacity. The battery is physically the same size, but a few of the pack modules are missing a few rows of cells. Tesla makes 2 battery packs for the model 3. the small one (in the SR), and the large one (for the LR and performance).
      Edit: Oops thats for earlier versions of the m3 rwd. Here in the US, all SR rwd versions use an LFP battery, which is also not software limited.
