    Great video so far. I'm using a 12ft utility trailer double axle. I carry a 250 gallon water tank. I live in south GA and it's several other detailers in my area that use the 250 gallon water tank. The vehicles that I detail will vary. Some lice in dirt roads, paved, and even farm. So, for me the 250 gallon tank is perfect. But like you said earlier, having a trailer it's hard to get in smaller areas

    I detail out of my SQ5. Been doing it 3 years, I do think about getting my own power and water, buildings in my area don’t really allow detailing so I only so residential homes. I put on my website requires access to power and water, I also tell them when they message me. I don’t know if I’ve lost anyone to this but it hasn’t slowed me down. Having my own power and water would be convenient & cut down on time.

    Guys love both design pros& cons! Quick Question as far like vacuum hose being so long how doesn’t it lose suction power ? Or like the little yellow blower does that loose blowing power with such long hose?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi! Thanks. I do notice a very minor reduction in suction. But it’s nothing that makes a big difference. Same goes with the blower. It works great on 30ft of hose.

    I don't have a tank or gen. I use the client's power and water. Alas however like you said. 99% of my clientele work from home. One budget friendly way I've learned to filter water is use an RV filter on my pressure washer. This alleviates me having to deal with hard water. Plus they are budget friendly. If and when I do make the jump to full time though I will probably upgrade to a tank and gen so that I can expand my client base.

    Hey Phil, have you considered a water tank that mounts under the floor and between the frame rails similar to an rv trailer? I don’t know if that’s possible with your frame configuration, just a thought, great video guys 😁👍

      What is hard water, I’m thrown off guard everyone talking about a filter or some type of special water lol

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s basically water with lots of minerals depending on the land we n which you live. We used to live up in VT and the water was full of copper and it would stain the sinks and showers green after a while. Some areas have calcium, or iron ore and it messes with the plumbing in homes also. So if one has hard water like that and those minerals dry on the paint, it can cause issues with hard water standing on the paint. Some detailers really have issues with hard water.

      Oh cool! Yeah I used to think the same thing…”do I really need that many products?” Well no…not at first….but the more we worked and faced tons of issues and problems with vehicles, we quickly found that we needed different products for different issues. For basic detailing of one’s own vehicles, few products are needed.

    90% of the time most detailer a go to homes. Only the premier detailers with accounts will go to places where water and power is not easily available.
    Most detailers won’t need water or power

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi. Where are you located?
      So where we live in Richmond VA that 90% figure you gave of the detailer's going to homes does not apply here. Remember that demographics matter. In our demographic 90% of mobile detailers NEED their own water and power because we are not going to homes as often as we are going to places of work. When we started 12 years ago we went to places of work the most, and we were not "Premier" detailers at the time at all...😆. We quickly realized that we had to carry water and power in this area.
      So I guess in your demographic, 90% go to homes, which is great! But this is why we put this video together to help others answer this question for themselves using logic and reasoning. It's not a 'Detailing RULE" it's simple demographics. So remember, we don't say "most detailers won't need water or power". We say "It all depends on your demographic, analyze your area and determine what you will need for your mobile unit."
