Thats actually a pretty funny story. But in short; I went in to an AD, asked for it, got the normal response "We'll put you on the list". He showed me some cool pieces, I shot a few videos/pics. The day after I posted them on my Instagram, tagged the store. I get a call 2 hours after my post telling me to come and collect the watch. I shit you not.

@@shingfungtse1594 Not for sale to the general public. If you're on their VIP which in my case, my business partner is, so i was able to choose any from the cabinet
I went into the AD store 2 days ago and asked for it. He looked at me and said "Wait here", he came back with a brand new unworn 2021 they just got in the same day. I bought it right away for retail, my first Rolex ever and I'm super happy with it!

I got the two tone root beer back in August and I think it's the best Rolex purchase I ever made. The color scheme on that beauty is pure genius. The warm colors puts the Pepsi and Batgirl in second and third place respectively, in the GMT line. That's IMHO. Cheers from overcast Seattle.

I have never been a fan of two tone watches. However, this one is absolutely stunning. I saw one and it looks better in person. You guys did an amazing job though. Your video is amazing.

It’s a gorgeous piece I have been considering - I have now the BLNR jubilee which I love it (the Pepsi colors didn’t it for me so I traded it and got the BLNR) ... as a companion... I’m looking into the CHNR - definitely stunning piece

I just paid resale price for this GMT Rootbeer. I had the rootbeer side by side with the steel GMT and the rootbeer looks so much better.

For me the rootbeer’s the best 2-tone, followed by the new 41mm bluesy.
I toatally agree, my nex watch is a Rootbeer, and I really like my Bluesy
I used to agree. I have both in my collection, along with other two tones. I think my favorite two-tone, though, might be my two-tone Daytona with the mother of pearl dial and diamond hour markers.

I lucked out too. havent worn it yet. I inquired about the 41mm OP and the saleslady said no chance lol. She called me later that week and offered the rootbeer to me. Thought she was kidding but I held it over the phone with a cc and went down that week and picked it up. Beautiful watch.

I passed on it when offered so it wouldn't screw up my Daytona placement. Now I regret it. Told my AD that I would like the opportunity to purchase this post Daytona. Currently, own black ceramic submariner as well as the green hulk purchased from the same AD.
I just picked this up from AD after a really short wait. I cannot believe I said that but yes my wait was not long! There is something about this piece that when I see it on videos or in pictures it is missing something...Almost like the camera cannot pickup the red/copper tones. When you see this in person it knocks your socks off. I do not think that can be denied. Wonderful Rolex. Might be my favorite all time watch along with Omega moonphase and my SD43
It’s a very handsome piece . Supply is hugely dependant upon where you are in the world . You can be quite lucky and live in a city with a large Rolex boutique and several other ADs . I have found making good relations with boutique to be the best call . They tend to get much more stock than the smaller ADs and attainability for virtually everything is possible if they are of the opinion that you will want a buying relationship over an extended period . They don’t seem interested in the single watch purchaser which I can see will be a huge frustration for many ..
Still waiting for the call for mine. Hopefully I too can rep it in 2021 :)

5:47 Let's be clear, it only cost less if you're buying it on the gray market. If you can get it from an AD then it costs much more. I have the Pepsi and the two-tone Root Beer (and many more, including the solid everose Root Beer), and I pay retail price because I get them all from an AD.
Naturally. But since most people don’t have the option to buy directly from AD we decided to compare the market price.
I kid you not but I just received a message from my AD inquiring if I would like to purchase this watch. This will now be the third time within a year and a half period. I may take her up on the offer pending it won't preclude me from a secondary purchase of a possible 50th anniversary Explorer II or the Daytona.

Am I the only one, who thinks that the GMT-MASTER II ROOT BEER would even look far more handsome
with a “SUNBURST CHOCOLATE DIAL” ?
Or maybe have that dial on shelves as well, just for another alternative next to the BLACK DIAL ?

The TT Daytona have a sentimental value for me. It was my 'first' luxury watch and it started my love and addiction for wrist watches. I probably wouldnt be working in the industry if it wasnt for that purchase. With that said I would go with the Daytona.

I wish the watch was larger/thicker. I always felt these pro watches looked smaller in person. I've got a black sea dweller which I like a lot. I've got a batman which I wear daily. But I kean toward the size of the dive watch.

Today that watch is 23k grey market. I bought it a week ago for 16k after taxes.
Not sure about your pricing but I picked up one yesterday from a Florida, USA AD for $14800 + tax. The Rolex website has the same list price. Did they aggressively ' reduce the price?
We might be wrong, as we mentioned the retail prices might vary through different locations in the world :)

just perfect. with this watch i'm done with rolex.
My AD called me and offered me the CHNR early last year, after I had purchased an Explorer. I took a pass at the time due to some friction with the wife on my watch spending. I've been regretting that choice. I'm going to reach back out to my AD and see if I can't get on the list for one this year. Problem is that they've gotten hotter in the last year!

Good move! A lot of guys buying non precious entry level ss watches like the subs and gmt’s and hyping up the prices. If you look at Conor mcgregor’s new day date and the rest of his collection all the pieces are precious metal’s in the long run they hold their value better especially as you see the market flatten a bit and more people trend toward gold and platinum. Watches like the hulk and Batman that are non Pm models going for 20k silly.

As a proud owner of this beauty, purchased new in 2018 from an AD. The "Rolex GMT Master ll, Root-Beer" was retailed for $14,050.00 US dollars and per the Rolex website as of 01/31/2021, the retail price is $14,800.00 US dollars. With that being said, I wanted to provide some clarification and wanted to send a huge congrats on this amazing timepiece. Please do enjoy,,, Cheer's.
Yeah its always tricky to explain the AD price as it differs so much in EU / US. In US you need to add salestax to the price, in EU the salestax is included in the price already. So we try to give estimate range :) Thank you for your comment and congrats on getting the rootbeer too!

Yeah... I wasn't understanding the pricing either. Current US price is $14,800. Not all US states charge tax, mine does not. GMT Pepsi price is $9,700 USD. So when comparing and saying the root beer is cheaper than the Pepsi, I assume that must be based on grey market pricing, not AD pricing.

At 5:55 you says it’s less expensive than the Pepsi. In the US the Pepsi retails for $9.7 and the Rootbeer for $14.8.

Btw I purchased the Rootbeer yesterday as my first Rolex. I was only looking to add my name to the long wait list when the dealer surprised me with it in stock. The intended buyer had not returned the AD’s call. Right place right time… lucky score!!!!
