well, i kinda understand where he’s coming from because i, a natural born filipino, can’t also eat the duck inside the balut. the flavor of balut is for the people who can find comfort from it which i haven’t felt. although it’s kind of common in asian countries, it’s still exotic. his reaction is more than acceptable. good job for tasting the yellow part at least!

Bryson, if it’s any consolation, you had “balut sa puti” for the “puti” lol. That’s not feathers you saw, the duckling was not actually formed yet. It is one of the younger balut and more coveted than the older. Gets to show even pinoys don’t like to see feathers when we try balut. Feathers would be black not brown or yellow/blonde😂 PS. The white hard part is called “bato”, it literally means rock or stone. We throw that away and we don’t eat that. I guess some peeps eat them for some reason. It’s tasteless tho and super hard.
