Been living in NC for the last 11 years and never went to these places so it is nice to see a recent video. I have also never been skiing in my life, I did snowboard years ago, so that will be a sight to see.. The rental outside of the resort is a great idea I would have never thought of too, thanks! Looks like yall had lots of fun and I can't wait too!
Thank you!! Haha yes this was our first time and it was a very fun place to visit. Hey if you go definitely rent outside the resort and they let you pick up rentals at 8pm, and you avoid the long lines and hard to find parking in the resorts. Let us know if you need any other advice, definitely check out the alpine coaster, it was so much fun
Yoo Mark & Rad! I found you from Sam Newton's Channel. Your positive energy is contagious 😊 I like that y'all just got after it, enjoyed the process, and you were able to capture both the enjoyment and failures 😂 That dessert did look delicious 😋 Plus a good swim and hot tub after a hard day on the mountain is so rewarding 😃 I've also never seen a rollercoaster like that out in the snow!! That's super cool! Hope y'all keep creating and enjoying the process 🎥 🔥 Keep the positive vibes! As for me (My name’s Ryan!) I started creating content on TH-cam to help people live more meaningful lives. It really makes me sad to see people reflect on life and realize they could’ve done much more with the time they were blessed with! Thank you so much! I will check your channel out, we are very new...like learned how to edit videos a few months ago but we have fun and want to show people how amazing the world is. We work full time and travel every chance we get, it’s nice to hear such kind words. Thank you Ryan it means so much to us. My wife has pulled your channel up as we speak and you’ve got a sub....thanks again
@@MarkandRad That's cool! I'm inspired by couples who enjoy the whole creative process together. That type of partnership and collaboration seems legit! Keep enjoying it together 😊 I'm juiced that y'all came by! You're always welcome!
Thank you! We have been together a long time...10 years and just this past year started trying to record our travels but it’s a couple hobby and gives us a reason to spend more time together haha.
It’s a really great place! Only 2 hours from us and we are happy we found it. We need to learn how to ski though haha. But the area is amazing summer or winter.
So we love Banner Elk for lodging. Normally snowfall is hit or miss in early December but in the past it has started snowing as early as Late November but typically by mid December you have some snow. Also remember that Sugar Mtn and a beech Mtn have good slopes but Beech Mtn allows you to book your lift ticket ahead and Sugar is first come first serve. We did a different video on this if you’re interested in seeing it. Have fun on your ski trip
Is it possible to get a breakdown on the price please? Like how much it was the equipments, ski and if you guys rented snow gear too like jacket, helmet etc…
So we used one of the rental companies Ski Country Sports. I cannot remember the prices but if you call them they will be able to tell you. For the ski/lift tickets they are about $50. We rented everything: jacket, helmet, jacket and skis
Thank you so much! We appreciate it…so we stayed at the Smoketree Lodge, rooms are affordable and comfortable, it’s got a large recreation area and jacuzzi/pool also. It’s a good place to stay.
There are plenty of places around the buildings to store skis when you’re not skiing, we did not rent a locker but I do believe they have them available. When we went inside to warm up or to eat we put our skis in the racks outside and overall we had a great weekend.
@@JoY_5093 rent your ski gear ahead of time, the earlier the better because that area gets busy. We used adventure sports to rent gear but the resorts rent it out and there are other places all similar prices. Also if you ski Beech Mtn you can reserve a ski spot, however Sugar Mtn does not do this, so if you ski Sugar it is first come first serve so get there super early….they were turning people away at 9:30 am the day we were there. Enjoy the area and have fun. Let us know how you liked it.
No the Bunny area does not require a lift, it has a magic carpet, like a conveyer belt you stand on or you can walk the short distance to where it starts
Okay so it’s a preference, simply put Sugar has only slightly better slopes but it’s first come first serve, so you have get there early or they turn people away when capacity is met. Beech Mountain you can go online and reserve a ticket to ski/snowboard which is a massive convenience. Both are amazing and beautiful places to visit but knowing this ahead of time can save you a lot of time. I will say the days we were there Sugar it was nearing full capacity at 9:30am but both are great places to have fun. Hope this helps, we learned about the first come first serve when we got to Sugar Mtn so hopefully now you know in advace. Enjoy the area and do the Alpine mountain coaster too, it’s a blast.

You really had me in the first 5 seconds... that was funny! Great video and great couple.
Haha thank you…..we are glad you enjoyed it and thank you very much for watching.

ok I never do this but I had pause the video to comment on the first 10 seconds which i thought was a professional ad, good stuff!
Thank you very much!! We appreciate the comment
We tried to make the video light hearted and a little comical.
it iooked so fun
This is awesome!! Just got back about a month ago from Beech mountain and it was amazing!
It’s a really cool mountain town with lots to do. Thank you for the compliment!

Great video!! Thanks so much!
Thank you!!!
Great video. Which do you recommend stay? Which dates was that. Do you expect the same amount of snow final week of December? Thanks in advance

Great vid! What month did you go there?
January and February, we have been twice and both months are the best chance of seeing snow. It’s a great place to visit.
Just got back from Beech & made a video too 🤙🏼 love your style! Great video 😎
Thank you! I like yours as well! Looks like you guys have a nice set up for editing. Keep the videos coming
@@MarkandRad Thank you! We love the setup =)
Maybe one day for us but for now it’s an iMac
@@MarkandRad iMacs are one of our favs too!

You’re welcome! Enjoy Banner Elk if you go, it’s a fun place
What's the name of the song in the video while you were on the mountain coaster...
“In the Mud” by Cushy….it’s on epidemic sound
When not skiing, is there a place to store your ski's and poles, is a locker needed?
There are plenty of places around the buildings to store skis when you’re not skiing, we did not rent a locker but I do believe they have them available. When we went inside to warm up or to eat we put our skis in the racks outside and overall we had a great weekend.
@@MarkandRad Thanks! We have a trip planned there in a few weeks! Helpful tips!

@@MarkandRad Will do, thank you!! Didnt know about the winter coaster, before watching this video. We are adding that to our plans! Thanks guys!!
You’re very welcome!! Yes definitely do the coaster, it was way more fun than we expected, we are planning on going again this year it’s a great area.
What time of year did you guys go?
It was in January, normally December-end of February is the best time and best chance for fresh snow.
I have a question, if I am afraid of the lifts do you have to take them for the bunny/kid areas?
No the Bunny area does not require a lift, it has a magic carpet, like a conveyer belt you stand on or you can walk the short distance to where it starts
Do you need a car to get to sugar mountain? Im planning on going but im scared of driving in the snow
They normally make sure the roads are clear, but yes you’ll definitely need a car.
Which is better beech Mtn or sugar for snowboarding?
Okay so it’s a preference, simply put Sugar has only slightly better slopes but it’s first come first serve, so you have get there early or they turn people away when capacity is met. What day of the week were you there? If it was the weekend do you think that was why the wait was so long?
Where are this place you show at 7:15? Thank you
We are so sorry, I cannot remember, it was a park near Banner Elk we stopped at on the way out of town. The pond was frozen over but it was beautiful.
To book am I looking for Banner Elk or Beech Mountain?
So Beech Mountain is the Ski Resort but Banner Elk is the city name. It’s a really cool area. They also have Vineyards.
