Okay... couple of things.
First, great video. I have been shocked at how good the Z50 is, which I got for travel, and have worked in to be my video B cam. I have all three Z bodies; I almost never use the Z7 for video. The Z6 and Z50 are better.
Second, you need to grab the native DX Z mount lenses. The 16-50 is the equivalent of 24-70mm, and is a video workhorse if you have enough light. And the 50-250mm is an absurd vacation lens. It has an effective focal length of 375mm at the long end. I've shot everything from dragonflies to aircraft and everything in between with it.
Third, the Z50 isn't a baby Z6. It is a baby Z7. The image area is EXACTLY a Z7 in DX crop mode.
Fourth, use Z mount glass for video. The native lenses have stepping motors and are silent when focusing. Consider the 35mm 1.8S, which is effectively a 50mm focal length on the Z50.

I got the z50 but how do u zoom into focus through the evf? Unless im doing something wrong. I set up back focus button so i always assume everything is in focus once i hit it. At least it looks that way to me. I am a beginner photographer please forgive me. Also when using back button focusing , should i keep hold on the button or release it and it will stay in focus or keep holding it?

Great review, do you miss your D850 quality and features?
I'm thinking Nikon left out the headphone jack to save money but also b/c an external recorder is better for this class of camera if you're gonna use it as pro. It is still entry level no matter how high it punches over it's weight.
I very much like OVF and the big viewfinders of the D3x & D4, but I may get one of these to try. A few years back I had a Fuji X-T1 for a few months but did not like it & was happy to return to Nikon DSLRs. I am a Nikon guy so happy to try the Z's when I can get a deal cheap enough.

Yup! So its a 105 - 300mm on the z50. Perfect for if I want just a bit more range!

Until the z50 gets a refresh (z50 ii hopefully next year) the zv-e10 is the better choice right now for video. Smoother auto focus system really wins it.
I still really like having a view finder for photos so if that is important then the z50 for sure since the zv-e10 doesn't have one.
If that's not a big issue I'd say go Sony right now.

I'm thinking of buying a Z50 with the 16-50 to go on a Weebill S - do you think that will balance easy enough.
PS - I notice online they don't even give an option on many sites for a second or third battery. (Nikon keep putting barriers up to buying their new cameras).

Huh, the Nikon Z50 batteries cost €58 (incl. taxes) where I live, usually electronics are more expensive in Europe.
I'm not sure where he is but I just paid $69

How much weight did you use to balance the z50 on the gimbal?
I didn't need any extra weights for it. This gimbal was definitely way more than I needed for this camera. I used to use a D850 with the 16-35mm lens on there (approximately 2kg) perfectly fine. I would recommend setting the gimbal to low or medium for the motor power with such a light camera.
Instead of buying anymore batteries, buy a $10 high capacity power bank and attach it to the hot shoe. When the camera goes to sleep it will charge via USB.
Nikon needs to allow it to charge and shoot but since they don't and it costing $100 that's definitely on purpose.
It's a joy to use.

I think Nikon got rid of the AA filter since the D610

$100 for that battery is laughable. Don't worry the aftermarket will soon have much better solutions. The camera and 2 lens kit, however, is a great buy @ $1099 direct from Nikon!
