    The Nikkor 105mm micro f/2.8 AIS (52mm filter) is one of my sharpest Nikon lenses. In addition to macro, I also love using it for half length, head & shoulder, and tight face portraits.

    @ 3:08 bower still makes those rubber hoods. Perfect for lens protection as well from bumps but from not bump & scratch arts & things if too close in. As an added feature, I use to cup up against glass with flex angle & cut glare & not scratch the glass. I use & love this classic 105mm f2.8D I prefer the larger deeper hood used in the outer 62mm threads so lens barrel can move in & out more freely & besides, once close focused the lens pops out of the lens hood for when you may not want it in the way now.

    • @NigelMurray777
      @NigelMurray777 ปีที่แล้ว

      Until the z50 gets a refresh (z50 ii hopefully next year) the zv-e10 is the better choice right now for video. Smoother auto focus system really wins it. I still really like having a view finder for photos so if that is important then the z50 for sure since the zv-e10 doesn't have one. If that's not a big issue I'd say go Sony right now.

    How much weight did you use to balance the z50 on the gimbal?

    • @NigelMurray777
      @NigelMurray777 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't need any extra weights for it. This gimbal was definitely way more than I needed for this camera. I used to use a D850 with the 16-35mm lens on there (approximately 2kg) perfectly fine. I would recommend setting the gimbal to low or medium for the motor power with such a light camera.

      The A-Roll was on the Nikon Z50 and the B-Roll on the Nikon D850. The D850 is great but it's lack of a good autofocus made it terrible for shooting the A-roll spots.

    The rubber lens hood is not the original. the 105 came with the typical hard plastic lens hood. the major difference to today's Nikon lens hoods was the button to disengage the lock [a bayonte solution].

    Is it good for portraits? I'm planning to buy one of those these days. Thinking about 85mm 1.8D or 105mm f/2.8D Micro. Which is better? Thank you for your answer sir! ^^

    • @MEnTALZ0mBi3
      @MEnTALZ0mBi3 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 105mm is definitely a very versatile lens. It's been great for portraits as well. Though I would say that the 85mm 1.8D would probably be the better lens for the job. It's a little easier to deal with in tighter spaces and the 1.8 aperture will give you a really nice looking bokeh!

    I don't understand a question about worthiness purchasing a camera? What does it have to do with the time passing? Or is it just for the title sake here? This camera works and will work as it was designed regardless of what year it is. Even older cameras work as the day they where built, it is just that we have more selection and sometimes the newer ones have bigger problems as well. I own this camera and it is a perfect tool if you know how to use it?

  • @cadencecreeker

    I bought my D850 with the grip about 2 years ago. I am a freelance sports photographer for the local newspaper. The D850 with a Nikon 300mm f/2.8 super prime is amazing. Add a decent monopod, and you are carrying over $10,000 US worth of gear, another $200 for an XQD card isn’t that big of a deal. When COVID-19 started, sporting events stopped, so I started shooting landscapes, wildlife, product, couples, real estate... whatever I could find, and the D850 performed flawlessly. Yes, eventually, mirrorless cameras will be the way to go. The Z6 II, and the Z7 II, are okay but I think that I am going to wait a while longer before I think about getting the newest version that will meet my needs. I am a photographer, I don’t shoot video with my DSLR, so I don’t have to worry about the issues that you are having with that function of the camera. I will just keep on using my D850 (D4, and D750) until Nikon comes out with a truly amazing mirrorless camera. When that happens, I’ll sell my D750, and get one of those....but the D850.... I will probably keep shooting with it until I wear it out, or, it wears me out.

    I'm thinking Nikon left out the headphone jack to save money but also b/c an external recorder is better for this class of camera if you're gonna use it as pro. It is still entry level no matter how high it punches over it's weight.

  • @dct124
    @dct124 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Instead of buying anymore batteries, buy a $10 high capacity power bank and attach it to the hot shoe. When the camera goes to sleep it will charge via USB. Nikon needs to allow it to charge and shoot but since they don't and it costing $100 that's definitely on purpose.
