Its a 466 silage special, the bale count is starting to rack up on it but it still works pretty good. Every time I start baling I gotta get out and play with the twine knife a little on the first bale then it seems to work fine after that. Probably just needs a new two dollar spring. Lol
I bought this one about ten years ago. I was going to an auction with a 8030 allis, a L2 and an R52 that had the White decals and the Cummins and it also had a 4440 that was low houred but the paint was faded pretty bad and it brought 29000. On the way home i saw this one on the outskirts of Saginaw and I stopped in to look for my uncle who was looking for another one to go with the two he already had. Three guys pulled in behind me that were at the sale but I was already talking to the guy and when he told me what he wanted I said i would take it. He claimed he traded to 4430's in on two 4440 in 1980. All he did was pull sugar beets and a twelve row planter with it he claimed.
There not bad, some things about them irritate me just like every color. I like to talk bad about them to the guys that think John Deere is the only equipment made though😄
That's a nice 4440 I have to roll alfalfa tomorrow myself won't make much but I need to take it to let the fifth cutting come on. How did the ball game come out?
The hay is pretty thin this year, been back to back really dry years. Got an inch last Sunday after the hay was already flowered. First rain all summer that registered in the gauge. I think they lost like most nights, but that's my station for Rush Limbaugh.😄
Ya it seems like they'd of put a five in there with all the fours. Lol maybe a 3330. I had to use it because the tires were getting moldy from sitting and I figured I hadn't pumped any hydraulic oil out of the barrel in a while. If you count fifty cows times 2x milking x 30 days a month =3000 head milked a month =BTO.💰 On the sixty, he got the governor dealt with but he had to turn the armature and rob some parts out of another generator to get it charging. Should be ready to run all night now. Lol
Jake Ziegler It just dawned on me about the five on the side if the tractor. Lol. The tractor came from a BTO. The guy was in his 80's and when I went to pick it up he was at lunch so I asked the hired man how many acres they farmed and he said " I don't know, somewhere around 7500 acres" lmao

That 4440 looks pert near identical to the one I sold a few years back, but mine had a rock box on the front!
