Absolutely...I have the early versions, and they are awesome...can't wait to upgrade, and try out the EMI emulation...sounds totally great! Steven Slate seems VERY confident...and he should be, his plug-ins will stand up any other.
Yes, he's driving the module really hard for the demo, no doubt...but in using the older versions, I have to go by the history excellence I have experienced with Slate Digital Products. There's no denying the are among the best in the industry.

Pretty pleased with how simple and affordable Satson is and how it sounds but looking forward to demoing this to compare. Just bought VMR with free iLok today. Can't wait to get VMR.
Awesome! I've been waiting for this for a while to come out for Pro Tools 11! Finally. I happen to like that it's used in the VMR because I use VMR on every channel pretty much. So the only plug ins I use are Virtual tape machine, VMR and maybe a gate. Next is to finally get the FG-X as an AAX plug in and I'm up to date!
i feel when you turn off the plugin, volume is turned down, so the comparission is false. You should put them to the same volume in order to be able to compare on and off
A great sound on my JBL monitors. With Metric Halo Even with Mio I will Buy this product. And by the way Mr Slates vocals are quite good on this mix. Very Impressive young man. I am a fan.

There is a significant improvement in the way these consoles show their "personalities" in 2.0. The link can be quite useful when wanting to maintain the proportional levels of your in-out. Steven is a drum guy, maybe THE drum guy, I find more than 1 of the consoles especially flattering to vocals, both male and female, to a greater degree than before. Yes, even with the rack, the DSP load in Cubase 8 is less than the previous single plug in. I was still using 1.xx in Cubase 8. Not real stable. So far, no such problem in Cubase 8.0.5. I confess, just having this rack makes me want to get the compressors and eq's that stare at me, daring me to try. I have confidence that FG-X 2.0 will also be a winner, as was the earlier iteration. can't wait.
If you use VCC 2.0 with a solid and very stable clock along with high quality converters, there is a virtually imperceptible differences between the real thing and the virtual channels. No shit. But even without VCC, using rock solid clock and high quality AD/DA converters makes digital recordings sound extremely vibrant. I've found that there is definitely a positive correlation between terrible converters and jitterly clock and that "digital sound". VCC is just icing, man. It sounds excellent.

Part of my problem with this demo is that the "ON" tracks are slightly louder than the "OFF" tracks. Level matched they aren't as impressive. Mmmph.
