    Converted 3 pump sprayers using your exact instructions (29/64ths indeed!) about an hour ago. Easy, peasy. Works perfectly. I used some Sil-Glyde (Silicone) lubricant on both the nipple and the bottle to aid in pulling it through the hole and seating properly. Like you, I found using a pair of Channellocks really helps! Thanks for the great tip and explanation.

    A couple of tips. 7/16 bit is 11.11mm which is .39mm smaller than the 11.5mm/.453" RIM valve stem making a better tighter seal and you don't need to spend $10 on a bit you will only use for this. Valve puller tools also come in handy if you already have one to pull it through without worrying about damaging it with pliers. Also 20mm/.866" Long stems are shorter and have less clearance issues. Great vid through, straight to the point.

      The drill bit 7/16 used didn’t work. That wasn’t a good tip. Too small for the valve to fit. Use what the guy says.

      @@leexiong9962 I’ve done 20 of these with a 7/16s but and a valve stem puller with zero issues. If the valve stem you’re using is larger than 11.5mm/.453” then yes you will have an issue which is why I specified those dimensions in my post.

    I drilled and tapped mine and I have a screw-in Shrader valve. I also used a bunch of superglue on the threads to make sure it doesn't come out. The valves you used looks a lot easier to install than what I did. Plus you don't need the NPT thread tap. I keep it going with a small battery powered tire pump. I see iK sprayers have an airpump now, also.

    I have the Axel 3000 foamer. I used the 7/16-bit, dish soap and channel locks with no issue. The only issue I'm having is the pressure relief valve does not activate?? I filled it with water to the 2250 line. I put 45 psi and stopped because I'm afraid that it may blow up!! Could the relief valve be defective? Even by pumping it, the valve doesn't open.

  • @helifan2346

    Use some silicone base grease to slide the valve through the hole
    Silicone grease would not affect rubber as petroleum base lubricant does, it corrodes rubber.
    Don’t use wd40 (Water Dissipation 40) it’s not a lubricant. It dissipates water, humidity, that’s what it does, after using wd40 you have to clean the parts and use some real lubricant if that’s what you want, to lubricate
    Plumbers grease is the one that you want.
    To check for leaks, mix soap-water, dish soap, foam it up and spread it around valve. If you see bubbles popping, that’s a leak
    I would doubt that you have a leak as the grease would help to avoid that

    spit or get some other type of slippery stuff on the valve stem first and it will pop right in. even a little soap. i'd like to have it set up to where i can just hook my compressor to the sprayer, carry it around and spray spray spray without stopping, unhook and bleed the air out, etc. that way i'm not always filling my pancake compressor for 30psi of air

  • @kimnewling5728
    @kimnewling5728 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Pretty cool. How long does a charge of air last on that sprayer? 1 car? Hi wife.

    • @thedetailingworkshop2689
      @thedetailingworkshop2689  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That really depends on how you're using it. for a quick app rinse you can get all around one vehicle before you need to refill. but also if you fill the bottle with too much product there isn't enough room for the air and it needs to be filled more often. lots of variables on that one.
