- I compare the accuracy of the harbor freight QUINN digital calipers with Mitutoyo and Brown & Sharpe Interapid.
Mitutoyo 500-196-30 Advanced Onsite Sensor (AOS) Absolute Scale Digital Caliper
Brown & Sharpe 00599391

I really appreciate the video and the information this is exactly what I needed today. Just picked up a set of those Quinn calipers and I'm sure they'll do me good thank you
Thanks for reviewing the Quinn caliper, just purchased it today. Access to the inner battery compartment piece was confusing and the instructions are bad. Great job on the video.
Make sure the battery sits down and hold tight in the clip for the power to turn on.
regular can opener works well on a lot of blister packs
I tried two pair of these. They were good up to around 4" but past that the screen would go haywire on both sets. I bought the dial version at the same time and still use them for certain things. They read the same as my mitutoyo set all the way through their range.
Weird I have had that issue with my pair.
Mine does the same thing, but after moving it back and forth all the way out and back it fixed itself. Slide it all the way out and all the way back in and just in various ways. Maybe there is some kind of residue that has to get cleaned off.
@@tszymk77 I'll give this a try, mine do exactly this and I planned on returning them tomorrow
Hello again 737Mechanic
Thank you for another Great Video. Nicely done Brother!!!!
Thanks for the video, hell of a lot better than Quinn's instructions, very poor, I was confused by the plastic plug in the battery socket, is it a part of the calipers or just a filler plug to be thrown away? The plastic tang for removing (lifting) the seated battery, is it supposed to stick out when the lid is slide into place? Odd, at any rate my set still will not come on, (Activate) I've tried both batteries. May be defective from the factory as the white Origin button does not pop up (rise above the face plane) like the other 3 do. I live 120 mile round trip from the nearest Harbor Freight. I paid $49.95 for the calipers and it will cost me about $50.00 in gasoline to return them. I am not happy!! Will call their 1-888 # come Monday and see what they will do to help me. Thanks for the video.
If you were to take one apart, you will see how they work. Very cleaver and accurate and repeatable.
Good for measuring 2x4's !
I think I would stick to a tape measure for 2x4's.
How good has the battery life been on the Quinn for you? Was thinking about picking it up for casual day to day work around the shop nothing too extremely precise just wondering tho how the Quinn’s have held up. Thanks
It's caliper, not plural.
Always good to have a language NAZI around.
