    What would be even better is if you could unlock the bootloader on both of the devices, flash the global rom on both the devices (yes even on the global one) and then do the test again. This way we can know for sure if the performance varied because of the roms.

    The general consensus is that 50c is not too hot for intensive workloads bearing in mind most of the time we will not run four benchmark tests back to back! So I see no issues really for the average user and maybe for those playing games for long sessions use an active cooling fan, or buy a gaming phone?
    The OPPO is running a less powerful chip so no prizes for less heat especially as it throttles big time. Early days for the SD888 and with many OEMs rushing out early to compete with Samsung, we can expect improvements once optimized. The Mi11 looks like it is going to be in the Top 5 £600-800 phones of 2021 and from my perspective beats the Exynos S21 already.
    Thanks!

      Throttling does help with temperature but it sacrifices speed for stability. I think chipsets are at their limits, there needs to be better hardware cooling innovation to sustain max performance.

    You are doing the correct thing by not using Antutu's CPU temps monitor, which is wrongly reported across multiple devices.
    And regarding throttling I think it's acceptable, even high end PC CPUs have a boost period after which it settles for a performance to temps compromise, just that it shouldn't affect real world usage drastically, as for phones, they have to be thin and also exhibit good battery life.
    For top most high end mobile gamers, thick and bulky gaming phones are the right choice, simply because they have a much longer boost period.

      No... If you watch the symbol near to the 20 MP closely you'll know it's front facing camera. MI China version display has to be scrolled down a little bit to view primary 108MP (different symbol) which is already visible in Global version on the left. for gaming, gpu matters more thus mi11 global with 30K dips in gpu compared to others with 20K may actually performs better in fps in those games without limit-fps in a 2 hour session... although in pc it's like that and in phone i don't know it's true as well...maybe someone could check that as well.

  • @T.R.A.N.C.E
    @T.R.A.N.C.E 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Antutu varies wildly and can be affected by any factors, it is not really an accurate performance test, just a general one. China version scoring slightly higher than Global means nothing. They are both getting way too hot. I have the Mi 11 China and am enjoying it, but the camera is not flagship level, and the screen color could be calibrated better, and obviously it needs some throttling on the cpu as it even gets warm even doing general tasks. My old phone Huawei Mate 20 X was always cool, even in gaming! Also speakers are good, but only very slightly better than Mate 20 X, nothing revolutionary here.

    A lot of comments, but only a few answering your question - overheating or throttling @ 8:41. I don't do heavy 3D gaming, so throttling for me. I rather have longevity. Software updates cannot always fix a physical hardware issue.
