Do you by any chance know how many android updates can be expected on this phone? I've never used Xiaomi or any Chinese phone for that matter and for some reason I can't get a straight answer to this question, lol! I don't get it. I've asked people irl and on the internet and I always get something like this: Oh there's loads of updates, MIUI gets updates all the time, and for a long time. Yeah but what about big android updates, that's what I'd like to know? From what I gather, there's no specific guarantee for a certain number of android updates as opposed to Samsung, plus at the same time I don't think anyone I've reached out to has ever had a Xiaomi phone long enough for them to know. It'd be great if there were at least 3 years of large android updates as on Samsung, and I can only hope for the iOS type of software support. Thing is, I really like this phone and am about to order it. In Europe it costs exactly the same as the regular Samsung Galaxy S21 but comes with everything in the box, not just the phone, and honestly it seems way better.
@@alexlarsen6413 i've got mi 8. it was 2018 phone it got update from miui 10 (android 9) and now miui 12 (android 10). why people says about get MIUI updates cause on the Xiaomi Phone it was the update that we really feel the change. from miui 10 (android 9) to miui 11 (android 10) and to miui 12 (android 10) it was whole different experience of using it and we feel the change of it getting better. and so far i'm happy with the phone still can do many things smoothly just the battery life are decreased. actually there are rumors it can get miui 12 on android 11 but seems like it was just a rumor.
@@bonnieindrawan846 Thanks, man! I get it, that's like when Samsung finally ditched the Touchwiz and switched to One UI with android 9. That turned it into a completely new phone and was a bigger deal than android 9 itself. I already got the Mi 11 for a bargain at my carrier -- only 650€ with everything in the box, whereas in retail here in Denmark it costs 850€. It's a really cool, super smooth phone with easily the best screen on the market, same as the one on the S21 Ultra which costs 600€ more. Even the battery is perfectly fine, I've only charged it twice in the last few days. First day I got it on Friday I had used it a lot and got 8hrs 40mins of SoT within 23hrs on one charge and now over the weekend I used it normally with 3&1/2hrs of SoT...and it lasted for over 49hrs on one charge. I'll charge it now before work and it's not an issue at all that it's at 2% currently because last time I had a timer going and it went from 1% - 100% in 44 minutes. Edit: Btw, this battery life is with everything maxed out on the phone; I have every AI setting turned on, 5G turned on, 120hz, max. WQHD+ resolution and brightness at 80%.
@@alexlarsen6413 you're welcome. wow that's amazing to know the sot and stand by time are that long. i think i need to consider to update to MI 11 cause my mi 8 max SoT only around 1-2 hours max right now. and talking about the miui even on my mi 8 the miui 12 are really smooth it doesn't feels like a 3 years old phone after that update. so i can imagine with 120hz display how smooth it is.
MIUI does have so many helpful features. Oh, and the animations are pieces of art. The only thing that takes away from the software experience has to be the 3rd party apps that come preinstalled, from Netflix to games. Thankfully it only takes a minute to uninstall all of it and you face fancy animation.
Loved your review, i was on a fence to buy one, your review blasted me right over that fence :D its crazy how good this phone was and still is, compared to what the xiaomi 12 offers...
awesome perspective. noticed that you hadn't mentioned any of the specs even once ! you rather focused on what it can do. Your explanation and detailing on the software use cases are the standout ! Truly amazing Thank you ! Since Apple has the amazing keynotes and amazing marketing for its new features and their applications. The adoption rate of newer feature is therefore higher ! Although not absolute all the time. Android phones such as these have some very impressive features and applications sprinkled in. However, since they lack the focus and the marketing abilities. This often go unnoticed even by those who somehow decide to buy them and use them, even after years of usage! I think clear videos like these will add value to such people. A third party keynote for these products if you will ...
I'm from Greece, here Xiaomi is huge. They have good, reliable phones in all prices. You see them all the time. Especially the Redmi. I wanted the Mi11 to be my next phone, but it starts from 899€...😬 Also great video Canoopsy, i'm a fan 💖
great video! one thing to suggest though: What about installing the pixel photo app on it? could you make a video comparison between the stock photo app and the pixel photo app on this device?
man please review some affordable bevices like mi 11 lite or nord for us . we dont have the budget to buy this devices please consider my words i am a true fan of you
@@canoopsy Good to know. Actually, I have always loved the Mi phones and the overall software experience. But the main problem for me, at the least, is that I love the way iOS apps and games are designed. That finesse isn't seen on the Android world at all. I have always dreamt of a iPhone Note type device 😁
Mi11 is in my Top 3 phones of the year and if it was not for the forthcoming Mi11 Ultra, maybe see some PR on that in the next week, it would be my Android upgrade. Value and all the features I need. MiUI is a great UI but will raise the game when MiUI 12.5 arrives in the next few weeks (in my region). That will solve battery life and RAM management. It will only update to Android 13 but that gives me three years so is within how long I will keep it. OPPO, Huawei and Xiaomi are very generous for pre-orders, on a contract you get Mi Electric Scooter Essential worth over £300 but bought on Amazon you will get £100 off. This is similar in spec to the s21+ and on contract works out much much cheaper!
Miui is actually an excellent OEM skin. Especially of u try the china version or eu beta version, they are more polished, more smooth and have an overall better experience.
How come Mi 11 Pics look so much better on your video compared to every other tech TH-camr? 😂 Is it your sequence settings or did you do some post production on the pictures themselves?

i'm wondering... when you tap on the back with your nail, does it sound and feel very weak and cheap ? i've had two mi 11 devices now and they both had this issue. someone said maybe they all have this issue, so can you please let me know ?
The only con I have for it is the curve screen. I can't wait to see flagship phones coming in flat screen again. I'm so tired with curved glass. That's why I'm keeping my S20 FE since the 21 series flat screen are the same specs as the FE. Otherwise I need a complete flat screen flagship phone.
Can you see ads in the software ? Because Xiaomi is has too many ads in their budget categorise of phones. Ads can ruins the user experience. What do you think ?
Watching a Canoopsy video is like stepping out of the chaos of specs sheet and looking into the blissful, serene sunset of a review.
10/10 review.
Holy that is an incredible description 🙏🙏
Couldnt have said it better
The colours in these vids are the most calming thing I've seen in 2021 tbh

I'm surprised you enjoyed Xiaomi's software experience.

By the way, if your Canoopsy your the best.
Incredible value, I saw it go for 645 pounds new on Amazon here in the UK during the spring sale yesterday
Random comment but I’m really digging your glasses they look so nice, makes me regret my blue framed ones everyday
You'll grow into them bro
Make them yours
@@lolcat well i picked them up when i was 12 so its more like I grew out of them already
For glasses always go for monotone or metallic frames, unless you wanna go with something more colourful but depends
U sold me bro, I like this videooo! I think I'll be buying this in color white or purple in November since it's mah bday❤️
This Review is so super well researched and professional that you made me instantly buy it.
