Phoenix Wright's level 3 is amazing for how perfectly it recreates those key case-solving moments from the actual games. The close-up shot of Phoenix. Tapping the papers. Slamming the motherfuckin' desk. The point. All shot with the opponent going nuts. As a character, he's probably the best example of how to showcase and represent a series, and the level 3 "Ace Attorney" is the cherry on top. 10/10, indeed.
I like the irony of condemning Ghost Rider for his crimes with Phoenix Wright.

@@singolo4602 yeah it's blockable but considering the fact it's a full screen, invincible, zero frame, omni-directional super it's very unlikely you can have time to block it considering the zero frame unless you were already blocking before it's done.

There's a number of things to not like about umvc3, but man it looks great
honestly, the only visual improvement i can think of in infinite is a bit of a personal preference, in that Nemesis's lvl3 is a bit clearer on what the fuck is going on (i know that him being a bit of a brown blob and not being able to tell what the hell it is is more source accurate, but still...)
I personally think that Infinite looks way better than this but maybe that's just me
I like how Dante's Super is literally just him spamming Stinger over and over again. You'd think it was DMC2 Dante instead of DMC3 Dante.

I think Amaterasu's one deserve more props here. If you played Okami to completion, you recognize each weapon she uses in the super, which are the strongest of each type. The reflector (disk) is the "Solar Flare", the rosary are the "Tundra Beads" and the glaive is the "Thunder Edge". Her level 3 is one of the most fantastic call-backs I've ever seen.
It's not just her level 3, Ammy's entire gameplay in MVC3 revolves around how she can switch between those three weapons, changing all of her normals and special moves depending on which one she equips. But for her level 3, the only thing she does with the disk is the uppercut to put them into the air which is a bit disappointing compared to the impact the other two weapons have in the super.
Fun fact about Wesker's level 3, in Vanilla Marvel, after he throws the missile at the character, instead of teleporting down like he does in this game, he just floated down to the bottom of the screen like a boss!

It’s honestly amazing just how different Penance Stare feels between this game and Infinite. Objectively the only visual differences are a camera tilt and a fire tornado particle effect on the camera. But it just ties the look together so well and gives it this feeling of being dragged to hell.
Personally I think Zero, Joe and Frank's Level 3s from Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom were better than the ones they gave them here.

that is a really rare game. Not many people bought it. Capcom cant relaunch since it dosent have the license of the tatsunoko caracthers and, i got lucky, i got it here in Brazil.

Vargles Do people really not play it? They have a LOT of nerve saying MvCI is dead when people on their game can't find matches.
Not nearly enough, it's not impossible to find matches but you have to be ready to sit around for a while in between them. I find this weird as well, everyone hates MVCI (I'm disappointed by it but actually enjoy the gameplay enough to play occasionally) and yet UMVC3 on the PS4 seems super dead. Its only like 25 bucks too, you'd think the scorned fans would be flocking to it. Then again the lack of balance is a serious deterrent for even MVC fans.
I play it, but on PS3 because no way way in hell am I paying money to have online multiplayer with PS3, Wii, Wii U, the Switch, and PC's having it for free.

I am going to have to go against the popular vote here, I am probably one of the very few people out there that actually enjoys the style in MVCI which I consider clean, while this one is very shadowy and more comic book style than the soft and clean 3D graphics in MVCI...
...That said, the sprites in MVCI look horrible close up (as in the story mode) but amazing otherwise in my opinion.
Don't forget the fact that Wesker has a super where he takes off his sunglasses and his taunt or something replaces it. Really nice touch
my favorite moment in all the pro matches I've seen was from Scamby, who finished his opponent with an assist while he had Wesker put his sunglasses back on

We need a rate the super for all fighting games so best to make it a series. Since you covered MVC3 in only makes sense to Segway into MVC infinite and then other MVC games before branching out.

I don’t remember if this was a thing that was a part of this game or not, but most of Raging Demon’s impact comes from minor details when it’s used as the finishing blow: the camera is solely locked on Akuma, the music stops during that quick shot, and no “KO!” is shouted. Like, “There is nothing else. There is only Akuma.”
Although, that said, I do feel like it does hurt it in the long run by being so fast you don’t really feel each individual hit. They should’ve at least made it as long as normal if used as the KO on the last fighter.

Your judgement feels a BIT clinical. The biggest thing I liked about the last one was how you showed a lot of emotion at the supers and genuine surprise. I think this series might work best with a game you have never seen before.

Phoenix Wright’s super is amazing 10/10
The one note I'd like to make about Bionic Arm is that you often miss the fact that he has to use the arm to stop himself. When you hit the opponent, they pop up into the air and the camera follows them. If they block it or it whiffs, you can see Spencer dragging his arm on the ground, tearing it up.
Personally, as much as i love Nemesis, i would've preferred his instant death necklift. Or shot a helicopter out of the sky and it lands on the opponent ~ similar to how he stopped Jill from escaping Raccoon City.
the real fun about phoenix's level 3 is that it works on victor von doom...... who has diplomatic immunity

Chris's super is a reference to Resident Evil 5. During the Uroboros Aheri boss fight (look it up if you don't know what I'm talking about) you can find a weapon called an "LTD" (I assume that stands for "laser target designator"). It's basically the target designator for a satellite laser, and you use it to lock on to the boss's weak points. (his super in this game is very inaccurate because in RE5 that weapon takes around 20 seconds to recharge and use again and causes a massive explosion when used.) Not saying he has a good super in this game but I wanted to point out what that was.
When Max goes back does go back and doing older fighting games he's not going to have those cinematics to work with.
Zero's Lv3 in TvC is WAAAAAY cooler.

@@runman624 he would freeze the opponent in place, his beam saber increased in size, then he'd impale his opponent and release the hold. Look it up, it's pretty cool looking.
I love how with Magneto, Max calls it a "Crazy, Star Wars sound effect" when Magneto is voiced by Tom Kane, a very prolific voice actor in the animated Star Wars shows.

You know what else is great about Wright's level 3? It's not that you can do it once you have 3 bars. Every thing you will do as Phoenix Wright, from surviving the sheer pressure of the opponent while you're trying your best to pick up evidences to finding that gap in which you will slap the opponent with an OBJECTION, everything will lead to that single, SO SATISFYING moment when you will spend those 3 bars and send your opponent to the witness's stand for some HIGH DAMAGING breakdowns (most of them leading to a certain KO)
I know it's not a fighting game, but Project X-Zone has this kind of fighting game cinematic supers you might appreciate, and a lot of odd character duos.

Except Marvel Phoenix becomes the most overpowered character on the game when her HC gauge is at 5 bars and her HP hits 0.

Ryu's Shin Shoryuken doesn't get enough love presentation-wise. The jet engine-like sound effect added a nice touch in my humble opinion.
Trishs sword reminds me of Order Sol sword.
If we get an update/new game we need more team based LV3s like Cap and Bucky. Just some incentives for having certain chars in the same team.

I agree with these ratings, especially the 10's! (Although I'd replace Doom with Wolverine). The I don't even like PW but his LVL 3 is easily one of the best ever along with DP and Wesker. I'd give Iron Man the final spot for the top 5 best supers in this game IMO.

I'm pretty sure for Trishs level 3 she throws her sword up in the air out of frame then shoots the person repeatedly. The sword them falls on top of the person smashing them down to the ground and she calls the blade back which throws them away and comes back to her back just my guess I love this btw
You should make a team of the characters who you felt had a 10 out of 10 super. If you're going to kick someone's ass online, you may as well do it with some style.

Can you do Tatsunoko vs capcom next? If so, you have to do Frank west & alex's lvl 1 and 3 on giants and regular people, hilarious supers. Also zero's lvl 3 gets better in tvc and can you do morrigan's lvl 3 in tge air and on the ground? Slighty different animation. The same happens in umvc3 too.
Edit: And when you do supers can you them to end a match? Some level 3's look better when you win a match with them, like ryu's to me in UMVC3

I'd make the argument Dark Phoniex deserves a little higher than a 4, all her dialogue changes, the outfit changes, the fire feathers.... pretty good for what it was calling back to.
