This was very well written. I say that from the perspective of someone's whose profession has required me to teach, to assess, and to critique the writing of people in university and post graduate worlds. I really appreciate good writing. This not only does many things extremely well, but especially does NOT do awful things that are quite common on TH-cam "essays". The script is so well fitted to the medium. This gentleman speaks quickly - which is excellent. Far too many people speak ponderously slowly. He speaks briskly and naturally. This means that he is requiring that his audience grasp his meaning at a fair clip. To that end, he structures his sentences very nicely. He keeps them focused and clear. Likewise his paragraphs, and the overall design of the video. You are able to know where you are within this long lecture. He gives quick explanations of what to expect next. One of the things he avoids wonderfully, is pretentious vocabulary. Pretentious anything, really. And he does this even though it's clear he enjoys words. His jokes show that. But he always put clarity first. I'm NOT saying the writing is in any way prosaic, or inelegant, not at all. Indeed it is very elegant. But unobtrusively so. Given the amount of content he has created, and his speaking speed, the quality of his writing, is really remarkable.

I just watched GOT for the first time. It’s very good but now I want to know everything. I’m not a good reader so audiobooks is best for me. I found your podcast and wow I still plan on doing the books but this is so well done. The podcast is also well done.

In the first video you mention the probability of the Tully’s having Blackwood blood. I wonder if it could be as recent as Hoster’s mother. That marriage would probably have happened around the Betha and Melantha marriages to Targaryen and Stark, the height of Blackwood power. Hoster’s brother is named Brynden; we have two other known Bryndens both being Blackwoods. Finally all the Stark children are powerful wargs, possibly boosted if they had recent Blackwood blood on both Stark and Tully sides.
My head canon is that Queen Betha Blackwood passed before Summerhall, because, as strong as the Blackwood women have proved to be, there is no way (to my mind) Aegon would have gone through with Summerhall or at least he wouldn't have had literally every Targ possible there. She would have talked him out of it, or at least tried, and if nothing else would have probably succeeded in altering his plans.
I asked this in the live chat, but I need to ask again (I forgot! What can I say? 🤣), who is the female narrator voice? I remember her name was Michal something. Once again, I will say that I love her voice.
Interesting that a werewood arrow was used for a high skill kill shot. I guess it probably would have worked on the dragons as well. Especially an eye shot like this one.
@ History of westeros. Maybe the Blackwoods were the WargKings that the Starks defeated an was made to leave the North b/c they were so powerful. Also all the Ravens that come to the dead weirwood are old Kings that are living their 2nd lives.
The prophecy with the new King who will arise when the hammer will fall upon the dragon is not forshadowing Robert ascent on the Throne. With all due respect for Bobby B, even Cersei stood in front of him, as in opposing, not to mention Ned. In AGOT our beloved Robert even complains about this to his friend in words such “look at me, no one used to stay in front of me” and “Rhaegar won”. Is not quite the speach of someone who doesn’t know defeat. My guess is the NEW King concerned by the prophecy is the NEW NIGHT KING (a ressurected Rhaegar Taragaryen?) and none (NO ONE) shall stand before him, not only because is rather hard to fight a guy who can wight you, but because this will help some of us make sense of Season 8: Arya will have to kill the Night King not because D&D said so, but because we can’t have Jon doing it, as it would be considered kinslaying to kill you new found Dad, even if undead.
