Funny thing, we renamed if Brynden Blackfish (from just "Blackfish") because people were complaining at us that this isn't the "Blackfish" documentary about Orcas. :)
Brynden probably loved Minisa but she was married to the heir to Riverrun rather than Brynden. That's why Hoster was so obsessed with finding a woman for him bc he felt guilty he married his brother's love. If Blackfish couldn't have Minisa he didn't want anyone, and that put a wedge between the brothers. He also makes comparisons to Cat looking like her mother. In the text he recalls details of Minisa's face.
Maybe Hoster Tully did have the plan to marry him to a family in order to create an alliance to take out the Targaryans, but his upbringing with the Dary's made him loyal enough to the Targaryans to not want to be a part of it. Loyalty to family made him not report anything to the king but loyalty to the king made him not participate in creating a anti-Targ alliance.

Also enjoyed that you pointed out how great of an uncle he was an how that was fulfilling for him. I always loved him from Cat's chapters.

So maybe he tried to make himself a unviable political option on purpose for the sake of Cat and Lysa.
I love that Aziz has turned all of the characters into 1920's gangsters. In another universe, instead of warring Bobby, Renly, and Stannis would've opened a restaurant. "Three Baratheons Pizza"
This video made me super excited to read TWOW. When it ever cones out. I forget how large a role blackfish played in the books especially considering the show minimized his role. He is one of my fav characters and i hope he does awesome things in the upcoming books! Great episode!!

Which cat did you train to do the up angle shot of your right side? they did a very good job and not only kept the shot on you, they also stayed in focus. They deserve an extra treat.
Edmure was present when Robb wrote his will and could of let his uncle know of the latter's naming Jon his heir, though I don't see Blackfish heading to the Wall to serve Jon if nothing else than that takes him out of the Riverland's - his home.

Blackfish will likely still have a good bit to contribute to the story in my opinion. It could be more than one character Grrm was referring to in that quote you mentioned, but if it were to only be one I personally hope that Grrm is referring to Stannis in that quote. Don't get me wrong, both Brynden and Stannis' death's were handled poorly in the show. I could at least see Bryden saying "screw it, I'll die with my honour intact" as dissatisfying as that is, but the show made Stannis go out like a punk when there was still much more he could have contributed to the story and he never would have burned Shireen in the context the show gave. Plus, when people freaked out about them burning Shireen DnD's defence was to say "Oh, well Stannis will burn Shireen in the next book so why u mad bro?" So it'd be cool if Grrm spited DnD for spoiling the story (though I'm sure the context of burning Shireen would be totally different in the book) by changing things so that Stannis mayhaps doesn't burn Shireen at all and sticks around long enough to aid in the fight against the Others. The worst deaths on the show in my opinion are Stannis Baratheon, Barristan Selmy and Brynden Tully's deaths. Doran Martell and Areo Hotah get dishonourable mentions for worst deaths.

"Warden of the Southern Marches", and as of that point in time, the Southern Marches are occupied by an enemy force. I don't think the Blackfish would take that lightly, nor return home and retire.
Jeyne is going to be in the prologue. A lot of people have speculated that the BWB+Blackfish will attempt to rescue her from the Westerland train taking Jeyne to Casterly Rock. I've seen guesses from Forley Prester, Blackfish, anyone from the BWB, or even a warg Nymeria POV. No one really knows though George will probably just surprise us with something crazy.

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that the Blackfish's refusal to marry comes from stubbornness--but a fiercely individualistic stubbornness, not just some childish pretext. Brynden isn't some spoiled brat, he's a highly intelligent and compassionate person. But in my opinion he doesn't believe in much outside of what he's formed as his own values. If you notice, he never speaks about religion, being a highly pragmatic person. So I speculate that he does things because HE HIMSELF believes he should, not because OTHER PEOPLE think he should. This is different from a complete nihilist, like Sandor Clegane, who in bitterness is capable of horrible acts. This also explains why Brynden, after defying his brother and quarreling with him, is able to remain near Hoster and continue to serve him. It signifies that he's unwilling to bend to his brother's will, but that does not diminish his love for his brother and family In short, Brynden sees his path in life as fulfilling his own obligations, and marriage would be a compromise of his values and a burden to his wife and heirs
You really buy thr story of him swiming under the gate?! Not bloody likely, imo. My bet is hes either still in riverrun (ala bran in the crypts) or left via a secert tunnel (ala Griffins roost) either way, i bet he does end up with the brotherhood

Great video. I have a speculation why Blackfish did not mary. Maybe when he was young he got a diseas from prostitute and did not treat it properly. Then maybe he was unable to have sex any more. If something like that happened he would have to hide it so he would not get rediculed.
