Hi, Shannon. I enjoyed your PPF vs vinyl expo. Unfortunately, I am going to be learning more about this after my blue vinyl wrapped Model Y Electric Blue (that you video compared to your MachE several months ago) got sideswiped in a Walmart parking lot, and will be taking it to the Sterling body shop on Monday. It seems that the vinyl did protect the white paint underneath, but won't know for sure until the wrap is removed. I'll send you before and after pics after the work is completed. Say "hi" to J2 and J3 for me!

3:15 What if you put a ceramic coat over the vinyl? Does that protect against the rock chips?
Pretty good presentation on the differences. But one of the things you didn't mention is that the vinyl doesn't last very long - two to three years Max. Then you're going to have to pay to get it taken off which is another expense, but you're not worried about that because you said you're going to sell it.
By the way, both cars do look really great

The wraps are a bit pricey, although they do look great and provide extra protection. Thank goodness for that. Are going to wrap your Rivian? Lmk. Cheers!!
I'll def put PPF on at least the front and maybe a few months down the road wrap it. I really like the Rivian Blue it is coming with so I do not want to cover that up quite yet!

@@EVandChill I wouldn't fit in your shoes, but if I were in them, I'd just put a protective "clear bra" on it. That Rivian Blue is eye candy, and covering it up would be a sin.
That’s what I’m going to do at least for a while. I enjoy how Rivian Blue looks so realistically I’ll keep it that way for a while.
I haven’t washed a car myself in a while. I’ve always used a car wash so I guess wrapping is out for me?
You can still have it wrapped but I would ensure it's a touchless car wash or if it's not, then manage expectations on how long the wrap will last.

So when you change the color, what about the registration that shows the original color?
Reporting a color change to the DMV is actually state/area dependent. Thankfully, both places we have lived do not require it.
There will always be interior areas that were not wrapped such as deep inside the doors or trunk, frunk areas
