    I’m always curious to hear how wraps are holding up. Great update!

    If it was only $1k, I'd wrap mine this week. Last company I asked, ir was 5k.

      I just asked a local shop here in Seattle. $3,800. Too much. So I bought the stuff from the jungle site--and am now wrapping it myself. About halfway done. It's not rocket science. And it's actually kinda satisfying for this ADHD girl.

      It was also 3 years ago. I feel like the price has gone up drastically for everything. Both great wraps and great paint jobs (even pricier) are definitely not cheap.

      I've seen cheap jobs that chalk and flake in 6 months. Wrap is cool if you have disposable income for it. Point is you're paying for a less durable surface that doesn't last as long. Plus washing, maintenance. And parking under trees with birds. Pollen in the spring. Parking in sunlight, humidity and rain. Just keeping it real...nobody is gonna get much skin unless its a garage queen.

    Gonna be sad to see the matte green go away when the time comes for a new wrap! Alwats loved the green/black conbo your wagon has. Random question - do you know what brand the roof rack you have is? Looking at options that won't break the bank rn.

    Good update - best way to transform the look of your car - What is the expected lifespan of your wrap? Is 3-4 years for a garage kept car more or less typical? I've seen some long-term wrap removal videos that make it apparent that a wrap is not a one and done type of change. Appreciate the content - fellow Alltrack owner!

      Thanks so much - the life span is all over the place. I've seen as low as 3 and as high as 7 years. And yes, i wouldn't assume a wrap is going to last the lifespan of typical ownership. I think my goal is to stick with it through this winter... and see where my heart/mind is then.

    Like you mentioned in the beginning of the video, i can only imagine how often you get approached, especially with the wrap. Ever since i got my sportwagen, I've had a surprising amount of people talk to me about it and give it compliments and i havent even done anything to it yet 😂

    Vinyl has to eventually be removed. Add that to the cost of vinyl wrapping.
    I'd rather have the car painted.

      But when he removes it, won't the paint underneath be i'n the condition it was before the vinyl?

    • @liquidSpin
      @liquidSpin หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@imtypingwords I don't understand what you just wrote.
      What I'm saying is vinyl costs a lot to put on and take off. It's not worth it in my opinion

    • @imtypingwords
      @imtypingwords หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@liquidSpin I corrected what I wrote but yeah, your right about the price, I was just trying to say, it's a good way to protect your actual paint under the vinyl. Though I'm pretty sure removing it should be a DIY project. Doesn't seem to hard to remove.

    • @liquidSpin
      @liquidSpin หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@imtypingwords Totally a DIY for those who love to work on their own rides. I think a vast majority are too lazy tho haha
      I hadn't thought about it protecting the paint underneath. Which is a plus if you decide to sell the car :)

    • @imtypingwords
      @imtypingwords หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@liquidSpin exactly, but all that said, if it's as expensive as the comments were saying then no... I would not. I would only get a clear vinyl for the front of the car where rocks would hit the car causing the most damage to the paint.

    Cool video and I really dig your car and the color. My question with wrap has always been...what does it look like when you remove it? Are they scratches where they use a razor to trim it at all the seams?

      It’s a roll of the dice depending on who did it and how hung over they were that day.

    Adding a comment here since it's the newest video and I'm not on instagram. How is the IS38? Are you still running the Uni tune? Still worth it? I recently picked up an Alltrack and trying to decide between IS20, IS38, or going even bigger.

    • @DadWagon

      yes and yes and yes. Still very satisfied with it all and is a blast to drive. I have no reliability issues.

    Did the wrap protect the paint from chipping on the hood?

    • @DadWagon
      @DadWagon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is most cases yes from what I can tell. In at least one case - no.

    Thank you, this video, this convinced me to not wrap my car. After 3 years, I wouldn't be happy with my car's wrap deteriorating like that.
