I didn't think Hit boy and Al's production meshed as well as it could have, but the record is still solid across the board. Benny sounds great as always.
The 3 singles gave me very high expectations. He's got some good hooks on this album compared to his previous work. Overall it was a great album but could have been better. Tana Talk 3 or Burden of Proof I think might be his best.
@@romaretaylor9953they definitely were imo. Bron felt like it tried too hard to be mainstream, same (to a lesser extent) for his verse on big dog but Wayne and al came through on that. One foot in had a fantastic Benny verse but I wouldn’t put it as a top 3 song on the album. Overall the album ain’t as “weak” as his pre TT3 projects and plugs 2 but it’s not a top 3 Benny project.
TT4 is the best musically, TT3 is the best as far as Benny being hungry and rapping his ass off. ECG is for the new fan of Benny The Butcher, something to get them looking forward to his next projects
I cannot understand why people are dissing Pillow Talk & Slander. That beat is insane and all 3 rappers gave killer verses. PT&S, Big Tymers, Buffalo Kitchen Club, Big Dog, and How to Rap are my favorites.
idk it wasnt terrible but i was super disappointed i feel like benny could totally drop something really special but he didnt here, didnt love some of the hooks also
Most Benny fans aren’t too big on this project it seems. I enjoyed it, but definitely expected more from someone with the talent ceiling of Benny the Butcher. Glad you guys liked it.
"He delivered for the most part." That about sums it up for me. I don't think benny broke any new ground here, and he likely won't win over any new fans, but in 2024, I'm a-ok getting an album like this from Benny. Aside from "How To Rap" and "Back Again," both of which are skips for me, everything else was good-to-dope.
It's definitely a great listen and the strength of this project lies in the personal revelations about his life and journey as a rapper. However, some songs felt empty where either the production or someone's perfomance was lacking. I rated it similiar to you two!
Personally think Big Timers is the only skip on the album but this is a pretty good review aside from a few specific takes about songs on here. It's a good album but it feels very standard from both producers and Benny himself, features aren't that great either
@@dysonspheretxi words with meaning being said/rapped or sang in a rhythmic and melodic tempo. Not "fuck yo bitch, shake some ass" Do i need to explain more or????
Everybody can't go was disappointing.. only 5 songs are good. Many of the beats on his album are slow and forgettable. When you hear songs like Johhny Ps Caddy, Big Dawg and Kostas.. you would of thought this album was going to be Madd Pressure but it was just ok.. first studio album and he fumbled it 😩
@@romaretaylor9953 nah replay value is lacking a bit as a whole for me. TMVTL, Griselda Express, Buffalo Kitchen Club and the first two singles are the only tunes worth returning to imo.
Disappointed in the album. It’s not bad but just decent especially after being hyped so much to me the biggest release in Def Jam since it’s dark and hell is hot. Not even a top 5 Benny project.
In my opinion this album was weak and Burden of Proof was weak too and what made it weak was Hitboy’s production he’s a very talented producer but he always misses with Benny’s songs it’s just not good Tana Talk 4 is better than both these albums cause it sounded like Benny went back to what he does best while still adding versatility, and it was heavily produced by Daringer, Conductor, and Alchemist
This album is extremely representative of what Benny truly is… which is extremely overhyped and overrated, he’s just an okay Mc especially compared to the A+ class of master mc’s that he’s surrounded by in the underground such as Mach hommy, billy woods, Boldy James, Conway the machine, elucid, Earl sweatshirt, roc Marciano, MIKE, danny brown, stove god cooks, action Bronson etc etc…
Lyrically while he isn’t as consistent as the others he is by far way better than an ‘average MC’. Being a top MC is more than just lyrical content, and Benny has top tier delivery, storytelling and flows and calling him an average MC is a joke
Ngl I’m baffled by some of the names you have here lmao. As far as rhyme schemes go Benny is more consistent than both Danny brown (since when tf was he mainstream) and stove god. Earl is literally not underground. Same goes for action bronson (who definitely isn’t as technical as Benny). The others I agree with for the most part (you forgot ransom) but in no way is Benny an average MC in both the underground and mainstream. TF and Jay worthy are the rappers who fit that bill.
That TMVTL was a fire track man . 3 beats with 3 verses and super good storytelling was fire .
Facts. Definitely the best one on there
Best song of the year and gotta be a top 10 Benny song
That outro beat was fire too. Kinda euphoric
Yeah, from start to finish amazing song
I didn't think Hit boy and Al's production meshed as well as it could have, but the record is still solid across the board. Benny sounds great as always.
Yeah really well produced. But yeah the two types did not go well together, kinda felt inconsistent
Alchemist and Conductor Williams would've been better
@@dsmth3261Highly agree
Wayne’s verse on Big Dog was nuts
TMVTL is my song of the year so far, such a fire song

Funny most people I saw thought the singles were among the weaker cuts (aside from one foot in)
What do you think about TT4? I think that one might be his best effort, better than TT3, Burden, Plugs 1 and 2, etc.
Plugs i met 1 and 2 are also up there

TMVTL is the best song of the year so far

Benny the GOAT

Loved the album, Lou was right about the Big Dog chorus but the rest I have to agree with Ant
This is a good album. Back again has actually been a surprising standout for me. That shit slaps.

Good album but it could have been better (especially on the production side of Hit-Boy). Still clears both American Dream and Insano though

Thanks for tha video
we need beat butcha back!!
Did y’all ever check out or review the Smoke DZA and Flying Lotus album? It’s called Flying Objects
Hit boy fid great on the beats
Benny is my goat ❤
TMVTL and One Foot In might be top 10 songs of 2024 **SO FAR**

Pillow talk with Jadakiss

What was the line that ant was talking abt in the first verse of TMVTL
