Thank you for sharing! Im here in New Zealand, just starting my way. I know it will be a long journey for me. May I know what are your struggles, frustrations, first experiences in your job when you moved here in NZ? Considering the high cost of living and high house rent prices. Thank you! This really helps & comforts me esp that I am starting here.
Hi there! The biggest frustration was having to start from scratch despite having work experience in comms and public relations back in the PH. Employers want you to have “NZ experience” which was a chicken-and-egg situation kasi… how will you get NZ experience if you’re getting rejected for that same reason. Nag part time muna ako as saleslady ng makeup, server sa Krispy Kreme and other jobs na unrelated sa field ko for the sake of having that local experience. And to get into the field i wanted, i took up an unpaid internship while doing my part time job. Yun ang talagang nakatulong and i found a full-time three months after the internship. Ang masasabi ko tita is, mahirap sa simula at maiiyak ka talaga minsan. Pero panandalian lang yan. Once makahanap ka ng full time, it gets easier from there. Learn to budget your money para napagkakasya mo sya each pay day. And every day, isipin mo ang little things na you’re grateful about. Kakayanin mo yan tita!
I am binge watching your videos!
