  • What Men Want in Women and Relationships - Relationship Advice for Women
For many women, trying to understand what men want from women or in a relationship can be a source of confusion and frustration. While everyone is unique and has individual preferences and needs, some common themes resonate with men across different cultures and backgrounds. Understanding these principles will provide greater insight and understanding for women seeking to build strong and fulfilling relationships with their partners.

02:39 Understand Types of Men To Know What Men Want
06:35 Which Men You Are Dealing?
    09:49 Conclusion
When it comes down to it, all men want is respect, specifically through the lenses of status and helping others. In the case of status, men may seek partners who support their career goals and ambitions and are willing to celebrate their successes with them. However, partners may also need to be mindful of the potential downsides of placing too much emphasis on status, where you end up using your partner as a means to an end.
In the case of helping others, men may seek partners who share their values of compassion, empathy, and altruism. Partners who support these values may connect with their partners on a deeper level and may be able to provide emotional support and encouragement when their partners feel overwhelmed or burnt out. However, partners may also need to be mindful of the potential downsides of placing too much emphasis on altruism and may need to encourage their partners to take care of themselves and maintain some strong boundaries with others.

@@lilis555 I get what you probably were going for, but no I believe that you are wrong. In the literal sense you can’t outright say “I demand respect!” and expect to obtain it…But respect for yourself is something that you have to demand for yourself. Just not in the way you may be picturing it. Demanding respect for yourself really means that you set boundaries and expectations on others respecting you. Whether you articulate that is up to you, but as a whole it means that if those internal boundaries or expectations are crossed, you demand respect for yourself by not engaging with people or situations that cross those boundaries. For example. I am in a loving relationship with my boyfriend. One boundary I have for myself that I haven’t shared with him is that if he were to ever do or say anything that would make me feel unsafe, I would leave…I’ve seen my step father do things in fits of rage, and I refuse to let violent men that ever enter my life stick around. I’ve never had that problem with my partner and never expect to…but if I did I’ve demanded respect for myself by promising that I will leave him even if I still love him if he were to ever try and hurt me.
A different example of demanding respect for yourself from him is a boundary that I have put forth to him verbally that he definitely is aware of. I’ve told him that for me it is okay to raise his voice when he gets upset…But under no circumstances is he to ever scream at me in anger or to call me fowl names. Again, not something we have had a problem with. And in fact, he intern showed both respect for me and himself during a tough period of our relationship. He respected himself my agreeing to uphold my boundary as long as I agreed to no longer fight through text messaging(a bad habit I’ve had to learn to grow out of). And he respected me by sticking by his promise not to yell at me during a time were he really wanted to…At close to one year in our relationship we had stumbled into a big difference in values in each other and it would impact any future children that we may choose to have some day depending on what route we agreed to take. It was very emotional for both of us and we both felt like our difference in our stances may be the end of our relationship because we were unsure if we could come to a reasonable compromise. Luckily we did and our relationship is better then ever, but after an hour or two of both feeling heartbroken and unsure what to do or say to each other the first day we sat down to discuss it, he asked me to leave because he was angry enough that he might break his promise to not yell at me. Despite not wanting to end the night on a cliffhanger I appreciated that he was willing to do so for my sake. I had respected waiting to talk in person about the problem instead of text fighting about it, and he in turn was choosing to take a step back as to also respect the boundaries I gave him….Man I’ve rambled on lol! POINT IS XD that yes you can AND SHOULD demand respect from other people where respect should be expected. And in the case of choosing a partner, if they do not meet your demand for respect you move on from them because demanding respect is more about what you choose to accept, and has nothing to do with what the world gives you.

@@legendoflex6881 , respect for yourself you demand from yourself, not from the others. It‘s your job to set boundaries and standards and it‘s your job to make those respected by the others. It‘s your job to choose the right partner, not to take anyone and demand anything. The other may have different standards.

Wow, you’re right. I’m a woman, and I think a fairly feminine woman by today’s standards (I say that because I have my competitive side also that comes out in academia). Anyway, I realized that I need to be respected by interested prospects as well. I was confused by this, as I thought respect was only something men wanted. Now I understand that since I respect myself, I expect to be respected by those I allow into my life as well.

He just walked of without saying thank you or offering to contribute to my parents inviting us to this restaurant. Don’t just take a man’s word for it, watch what he does.

Same here! He’s always pushing me to improve myself, and I was starting to think that he just didn’t think that I was good enough. That if he can’t accept me the way I am, then he doesn’t deserve an improved version of me. But I also had to be radically honest with myself and accept the reality that I truly was not in a good place and him wanting to see me be better was completely understandable and didn’t mean rejection. Once I started to genuinely improve myself and my life, I stopped feeling this way. Now that he’s seen my growth, and my willingness to change and work on my problems, I feel supported and encouraged and truly valued for who I am despite still needing a lot of healing and growth. I feel like he’s by my side cheering me on through my journey, and that he truly wants us to go through our journeys together.

Don't forget about the narcissistic men & women that aren't even about "respect" I believe we all want respect, yet we also need to look at the control part/narcissistic part of why men/women cheat and how that's actually disrespect and can become abusive. If a man wants respect he should show respect by saying this is not the kind of relationship I want to be apart of and respect the women by telling her this. As a women I not only want respect yet I also want the respect from a man to not waste my time or his cause that's just toxic, and so forth. I've been in abusive relationships myself where I've confronted the man respectfully yet was still treated like shit. I'm grateful for all that though because of how it's helped me understand my worth more & also be more mindful of how & who I want to date or just allow access to me. Yes there's tons of bad advice out there because we only may focus on certain perspectives. Yet we need to look at all perspectives but I get that this is based on a man's perspective. Yet to respect a man, a women needs a man trust to be able to respect this man, (not just words but actions) Cause I'm not gonna have respect for anyone if I can't trust them. It goes both ways unless it's just my masculine energy coming out lol 🦁

Purity, love ,loyalty, respect, honesty, compassion, bravery, and honor and marriage.
As a woman, men want any excuse to dangle carrots as too what they want in a woman then be fickle, cheaters, liers, and abusers...and still trying to dangle carrots what they want ..which is sex not love and its sick keep telling us women what men want..Its sex without morals or marriage.

I think there is a third type of man (also happens in women, but less frequently). This type is much rarer. This person is seized with an idea or inspiration that they can't put down. Their single-minded focus doesn't spring primarily from helping humanity. It is something that captures the very essence of their nature. They pursue this goal because they can't not pursue it. The goal may be very abstract, without a clearly definable outcome. I think this category encompasses many of the scientists, mathematicians, historians, artists, explorers, philosophers, etc., throughout history. Their efforts frequently advance the fronteirs of mankind, but that's not their motivation. Some may even have divine inspiration. They are not out for personal gain because they have no idea where their path may lead . They only know they have to follow it. Their personal relationships could be a nightmare. However, who of us has not had our lives enriched by knowing such a person?

I don't get it. If I was to say what women really wanted from men was admiration (the stated definition of respect on this video), wouldn't that be weird? If I said women liked admiration the most because it has helped them survive over the eons, does that make sense? I see you're trying to say something, but a deeper explanation is needed please? I can't respect (which means hold in regard, or value, to me) my partner needing my admiration more than my love (which I consider more valuable, as it this holds acceptance and care to me). I would just think admiration was about the ego, which I see as a lesser than people connecting and practicing care for one another. Please explain more if possible. I'm sure it has to do with the way men are raised by and grow with other men.

Men are created to need respect; God has shown this to be the case in Ephesians 5:33. It has nothing to do with evolution. It is always connected to his behavior and character (he is responsible for behaving morally and with honor).

@user-ic3pf3fx7r: How can others respect you if you are not even respecting yourself? I can’t imagine being sweet to someone who threats me like crap. I would run. If you are tolerating their sh**, you are disrespecting yourself. Respect yourself and your boundries sister. I have seen the change in behaviour once they realized you are not willing to take it.

Oh my goodness....please, please, PLEASE do not quote from Andrew Tate! NOT if you truly are trying to advocate and educate women to respect and be respected and have healthy relationships. AT has been caught and prosecuted for sexual trafficking, abuse and coercion (with minors and not only), that on top of his numerous speeches, podcasts, seminars, etc. in which he is literally teaching men how to groom, seduce, abuse and pimp women. I am absolutely mind blown that you would include someone like him...there are other men who have achieved success without profiting off the sexual abuse of women, and who are not educating men on how to be successful by engaging in such acts. Just because he is a "multimillionaire" and has a following does not make him a role model and a decent human being.
