    This song describes the changing of seasons so beautifully. It's also something of an autobiographical peek at Tatiana who suffers from Seasonal Affective Disorder, particularly between fall and winter.

      As I know, this lyrics was written by Eugene in russian and then have been translated into English and fit the song with tempo and rhymes.

    The 2 songs Home Back (lost homes to 2014 invasion of Russia into Ukraine) and Retrospection (missing their families still in Russian controlled territory) are some of the deepest and most moving lyrics of a band that just drips with awesome lyricism. Suggest the mv’s of each as they pack a punch.

    "Under permanent ice, we found a breathless paradise, no we're not dead, no we're not dead, just enjoying coma" is my favorite but this song (like all their songs) are masterpieces! Great reaction!

    That is a 13 second note she holds at the end of the set. I can't whisper a word for 5 seconds if I've been talking a bit. Tati is a beast.

    Perennial is my favorite Jinjer song because of the deep meaning it conveys. It's a really positive song. And how the band delivered that message is magical.
    Please try Vortex. It's a musical masterpiece. And also try Outlander.

    I think this is a great follow up to Pisces not just because it shows people that she is actually doing it, but you also get to see her stage presence and hear how out of breath she is at the end, despite not showing any sign of fatigue during the song.

    Jinjer I speak astronomy live at Wacken. I speak astronomy is Tatis favorite song that she’s wrote. She does write every lyric, Eugene occasionally writes a couple lines.

  • @palladinodessa8988
    @palladinodessa8988 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Tatiana is the lyricist. She writes in her native language - Russian - and then translates to English while maintaining when she should use her different voices for lyrical emphasis. She has such talent as does every member - a rare find in music. 🤘 Maybe you would like Home Back, it was written about the 2014 invasion of their region of Ukraine by Russia.

    The band writes the music and Tatiana writes the lyrics afterwards. She has quite clever lyrics; she was a literature student in university. The song "Wallflowers" is about the artistic tension resulting from this arrangement. She admits that she does procrastinate. I recommend "Captain Clock"live at Resurrection Fest or "Pit of Consciousness" live in Kiev as possible follow up reactions. Good analysis. (Subbed)

      I second that. That performance of Captain Clock is one of the most dynamic performances of Tat''s on video.

    i've never been into any type of music that is close to metal/has screaming, but Jinjers talent jusut transends genres. ALL of the members are top tier talent, and yet Tati still shines. What a performer, and performance by all!

  • @dtpfeiffer
    @dtpfeiffer ปีที่แล้ว +2

    My #botd is "Exhausted nature is tragic and suicidal! Oh how spectacular she is when she kills herself!" just because it's such an interesting metaphor for the change of seasons and the beauty of autumn. Tati is so impressive as a lyricist, especially considering English isn't her native language.
    If you want to keep going with Jinjer, I'd suggest something from their most recent album. Either Vortex or Call Me A Symbol are good choices. You can't really go wrong with anything from them though.

    Nice Reaction! From my understanding in reading other comments in the past, this song is comparing the funk (or depression) Tati goes into during Winter to a Perennial house plant. The Perennial plant, when winter comes, loses all of it's leaves and flowers and is just a stick, sticking out of the dirt and it looks like it might be dead. Then when spring comes it grows back it's leaves and flowers, as Tati comes out of her Winter funk. I do not know for sure if this is the meaning of the lyrics or not, but it kind of makes sense.

      Yeah that’s pretty much what we got out of it as well that’s why we said we don’t exactly relate because we have adapted to the long winters where we are from and have come to enjoy it lol but either way she did a heck of a job painting the picture! Lol superb! Thanks so much for watching! And taking the time to comment. Much Love

    Fun Fact: at the beginning of this video the fans were cheering because they had just played Pisces. 🙂

  • @mackowalk2456
    @mackowalk2456 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I decided to show my understanding of not only mine favorite line of "Perrenial", but Yours too @The NEW Reel.😃
    Chad's #BOTD "The Fall seems like funeral to me. The longest song of grief. And not for what has passed, but for what I shall last"- for me it sounds like some people are grieving even before they loose somebody important to them. They're feeling fear of loosing people precious to them and they are afraid of the grief that would be caused by their own death. That's how I understand those lyrics.
    Brit's #BOTD "Annual tradition of mass destrucion in the name of total reconstruction. My biggest source of confusion. The reason of decaying desolusion. Under permament ice we found our breathless paradise. No we're not dead. No You're not dead. Just enjoying coma."- this whole portion of lyrics speaks about the feeling of hope that death, or rather change is not really the end of things, unless it's happening for greater good. But the last 4 sentences can be described differently, in much more darker way.
    So that's my #BOTD "Under permament ice we found our breathless paradise. No we're not dead. No You're not dead. Just enjoying coma."- I can say that, when it comes to those lyrics, I can see most of people that I met in my life. I'm talking about the people, who are enjoying coma of being drunk, druged, wasted in many different ways. It's important to take control over own addictions before it's too late. Before someone destroys his, or her own life, because of those addictions.
    I'm very glad I could show my insight into Your #BOTD 's too. Next song by Jinjer on my list is "Teacher, teacher". I'm very excited for this song, but if there will be another one I won't complain. 😉Great reaction! 😃

    • @TheNEWReel
      @TheNEWReel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow, that is an excellent translation of her lyrics! I too can totally see that too! That is why we love this part of our videos/community because everyone relates a little different and being able to see someone else’s vision makes the song that much richer. Thank you so much! Much Love!

    #BOTD "from the ashes of my roots, the new me will rise to live again, this is poetry of youth, this is poetry of me and you"
    I love this because to me I see it as, you, or life, can burn me down to my roots, and I will still learn from it and rise again reborn, anew and with more knowledge than before.... it's the plant version of that which doesn't kill us only makes us stronger

    If you are into lyrics, then you really need to look into Epica. Their lyrics are deep. Mark, the band leader, has a degree in psychology and it shows in the lyrics.

    I am a new subscriber. Your deep analysis of Tatiana’s lyrics is unique and has deepened my appreciation for the band. I have read that she writes the lyrics in Ukrainian and then translates them into English. She is a compelling and charismatic. She has many interviews available on TH-cam and other places. You might want to change them out.

      First, Thank you so much for taking the time to support the channel. It really does mean a lot to us. We started this channel with the thought of sharing with a community of people the interpretations of music/lyrics. We are intrigued with the differences people can extract out of the exact same lyrics, this is why we always try to go in completely blind so as to not be influenced by someone else's take on what we will hear, even the artists. We always like to go back and check out what the artist/band had in mind when creating the song, even what might have inspired them, but what we like the most is hearing from all of you what it is you are hearing from them. Anyway Thanks again for the support and sorry it took so long to respond, we had a family emergency and have been out of town for a while. We are back now and will be putting more videos out soon. Much Love
