What to expect when you go for a drug test?
You applied for a job and got the offer and you are required to go for a drug test. This is typically a urine drug test. Drink a normal amount of water before the test, don’t over consume fluids.
Sometimes the test might be with a hair specimen or an oral fluid specimen. Most pre-employment tests are with a urine specimen.
You will need an order form, authorization form or a custody and control form to bring with you to get the testing done.

Providing your urine will be in a private restroom unless there is suspicion you are cheating on the test. If there is a clear indication you are attempting to cheat on the test, you will be required to have the test done as a direct observation.
You go to a testing center, collection site or sometimes called a Patient Service Center (PSC) to provide your urine specimen. The PSC’s are owned and operated by Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp. Your specimen once collected goes to a certified laboratory. You do not go to the certified laboratory.
If you need a personal test for any reason including divorce, probation, child custody, school requirement or other personal reasons; you can order your test online.
If you are taking medical prescriptions, do not worry. If your prescriptions show up on the testing the medical review officer will call you to discuss and take your prescriptions into account so that a false positive does not occur.
The urine drug test is an easy process. Always pay attention to the entire process with the collector and review the paperwork involved. There is a strict chain of custody, so you are sure the lab is testing your specimen. The lab does initial testing and also when positive the specimen goes through confirmation testing. All positive tests are reviewed by a medical review officer (MRO).

Would ritalin show on an employee drug screening? Even if their is a prescription?
Yes! It will show up as an amphetamine. But if you have a prescription, you are protected under ADA laws

In cases where they ask for prescription names ahead of time, do I have to disclose what prescriptions I take before the test? I don't really want my employer to have that information... Could I just wait and show proof of the prescription if I get a false positive? They cannot cause people to get high or anything, so I'm not sure if they'd even show up.

A job watched you pee? Usually only legal things like probation have to watch you pee
@@josephraymond3180 I was on probation as a kid and they couldn’t so I wouldn’t know about that. But the company I worked for at the time didn’t really follow any rules. They were basically forced to start testing because people started doing meth and pills while at work. It was actually my second time working for them. The first time around there was no test at all. Only a background check.
I would never let anybody watch me test I would rather get a different job the only way that they could supervise you legally if you’re on probation
