    Nice video. You should buy a cheap video card so the factoryIO runs smoother.

    Hey pete! I love your videos. My PLC is connected to an eleborate system of water recycling. i didn't make all this, my seniors did.. Now, I being untrained in PLC, have started learning PLC from your videos. Question: If i make a 2 wire program in TIA and connect it to Factory I/O and start the program, will this turn on the equippments in real time, if yes, it might be a disaster for my company. Is there a way I can just run the simulation on Factory I/o, without affecting the hardware in real time?

    • @PeteVree
      @PeteVree  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are learning the Siemens TIA you should be using the PLCSIM (Simulation Software) or purchase a basic S7 1200 PLC to be used solely for training purposes. To be clear, don't run Factory IO on the PLC that is hard wired to your company's equipment.
      If your company wants you to learn PLC Programming, then they should purchase the PLC, HMI and Factory IO for you.
      Rajvir Singh has a great course here as well: nfiautomation.org/courses/learn-siemens-s71200-from-scratch/

    Great video Pete! Many thanks. I have a question: what is the purpose of offsetting your addresses (as you demonstrated here)?

    • @PeteVree
      @PeteVree  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      By offsetting the addresses, it allow the Factory IO software to negate the 8 physical inputs to the PLC. Otherwise the physical state of the inputs will interfere with the software.

      @@PeteVreeHi Pete. can you please explain this a bit more. Why cannot the Factory IO use I0.0 ??

    • @PeteVree
      @PeteVree  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because that Input terminal exists on the PLC, so if you use it in Factory IO there will always be a conflict. You have to use inputs that don't physically exist on the actual PLC.

    mr. Pete.. do you have video about controlling factory io via TIA portal without using PLC? because i dont have the module s7 1200..

    your toturials are very helpful so I wish you all the best and I want to know weather it is possible to use this simulation program without hardware plc or not possible ?

    • @PeteVree
      @PeteVree  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think this version allows you to use a Siemens PLC Simulator factoryio.com/mhj-edition/
      Check with the guys at Factory IO to confirm.

      @MsAlsada90 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you a lot for your kind reply.And I think it will be better if you make a vedio about how we can use this program without hardware plc .

    • @PeteVree
      @PeteVree  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely, most people would like to learn PLC's, but purchasing the hardware is quite expensive. I believe you can use Siemens PLC SIM. Once I have an understanding of what steps to follow, I will start a new playlist.

      Try Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 and the OPC functionality and that way you can use the OPC version (or the trial version)

    • @PeteVree
      @PeteVree  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. It is a separate product. factoryio.com/

  •  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pete why do you need to offset the inputs ?

    • @PeteVree
      @PeteVree  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the Factory IO you are using virtual inputs from the software... so you have to offset the inputs by 10 so that the actual physical inputs from the PLC are redundant, and the program only responds to the virtual inputs from the Factory IO software.

      You'll have to purchase the software from Siemens, they don't seem to have a trial version that is available longer than 21 days.

      @PeteVree  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not cool Ahmed... If you like the product, then purchase the software at this link: factoryio.com/get-factory-io/ Not everything is free, you have to support the creators, and understand how much time and effort goes into creating a software such as this.
