Gee you have been trying to get duck weed, azola to grow for how long now and you keep coming back to grow it . Ask someone who knows how to grow it properly, there are many people growing duck weed to sell.
Duckweed prefers to grow in water that is stagnant or very slow-moving. To rid your water of a duckweed problem, you can try aerating it. Using bubble aeration will discourage growth and kill duckweed plants that have already grown.

What do you think is the cause of the lack of nutrients for the duckweed in the pond? There are more fish in it now so that should mean more fish poop and nutrients than before when the duckweed was growing better. Unless the pond overtopping in the recent rainstorm washed out too much water that was rich in fish poop.
Probably needs shade, but I don’t really know.
I like the looks of the setup I do hope it works for you.

Feed all the lighter shade Duckweed to fish. Then redistribute healthier Duckweed.
Would think its down to the sun blazing down on it. Shading it should do.the trick.Brian
Lighter green almost certainly from more sun ,, long roots almost certainly lack of one of the nutrients.
