One of my cats loves honey buns and the best we've been able to do is train him that gets a lil pinch of it but no more than that (he will steal it out of our hands otherwise and the box has to stay in a locked cabinet) just a lil taste

Yeah, I like to sneak my cats bits of meat when I have it, but they're not even supposed to have big amounts of fish. You have to be really careful with it, I just recently learned even avocados can be bad for them

I'm not a vet but my family raised chickens and also worked with a cat rescue growing up. We had so many eggs (350 chickens and almost all of them laid daily) so we ALWAYS had tons of slightly damaged eggs we didn't know what to do with. So we fed a lot of eggs to the dogs and cats. (Raw, we never had any issues and the cats didn't like them cooked). They had the shiniest, healthiest fur I have ever seen. They loved them to the point that my cat Beedle would literally come running from across the house if he heard us crack an egg or open a Styrofoam carton. We even had to start spelling out the word "E G G" in conversation or else he would go wild. Since we worked with a rescue, most of the cats we got were feral. A lot were either really old or really underweight. Many had skin problems too. Eggs did a really good job of putting on weight and also helped with skin issues. Also since we worked with a rescue, the shelter/vets knew what their diets were like and they always said they looked healthy and that the eggs were fine. Tldr I would go off of what your vet recommends but in my experience (having up to 30 cats at a time who loved eggs more than their normal food) they're perfectly fine for cats

Baking for sensitive pets is a blast, you look at the ingredients and just wonder how the hell it's going to come together and then ban you have a baked good. I made dog cupcakes for my dog last year if I recall the only ingredients where peanut butter egg and apple then you baked it in the oven in a muffin tin she loved them luckily for us she was only sensitive to beef and most grains though to much fish in her diet always made her gassy which while she didn't act uncomfortable we figured it couldn't be very comfortable to be as gassy as that made her so she ate primarily poultry or lamb

They are more protective of miniature rubber bands tho...they just go crazy for those as a toy and they WILL growl at each other and hiss and make a fuss to protect it.(edit: I have regular tabby cats/European shorthairs...)

I have a recipe for cat jello: 2 cups unsalted chicken stock 1 tablespoon dried catnip 1 tablespoon unflavored beef gelatin Combine 1/2 cup chicken stock with beef gelatin and set aside for at least 5 minutes so the gelatin can bloom. It will rapidly reach the consistency of a very thick applesauce, but that's okay. It's supposed to do that In a pot, combine the remaining chicken stock with the dried catnip and boil it strain the boiled catnip/chicken stock concoction and combine with the beef stock. Stir until completely mixed and place in the fridge to set

Yup I had to cook veggies to soild up my new kittens poop she was very sick when we found her. Pumpkin was a life saver. Lots of plain broth to keep her hydrated.
No one ever told my Daisy that veggies should be the small part of the diet. That fiend loved sticking her head in everything from my cooked peas and carrots to my salad. And dare I have broccoli without having given her some. She would eat both the tree and stem. I never gave her raw pumpkin because I never had reason too, but she did love pumpkin pie. I'd make sure to leave some filling on a piece of crust just for her because she also loved baked goods. Meat however wasn't much of a concern to her. Of course being such a foodie, when I wrote anthropomorphic stories about her, she was a chef among other things.

I'm unfortunately being forced to rehome my cat, and the stress of knowing how many people treat their pets like a toy/content farm has really been draining me. But this video gives me a little bit of hope.
Also this was such a dose of nostalgia for me omg. I've made little bone broth gummy bears for my old dogs before, and carrots, peas, pumpkin and chicken were always on hand lmao
As a cat owner, this video makes me so happy, it's so nice to see someone who cares so much about their pets, going through the effort of making a whole three-course meal and making sure everything is safe is amazing, and i definitely wanna try making something similar someday!
I collect vintage homemakers' manuals and old cookbooks which routinely come with a section of aspics and I feel like you could easily make an entire cat-friendly, fun looking aspic multicourse meal since there are so many different aspics out there, from savory to sweet

I love that the cats sound like basset hounds when they shake because there's no fur in the way of their jowels slapping to dampen the sound.
Catnip infusions in jello or as "ice pops" is also a great choice. You could do a little "pumpkin bisque" with raw pumpkin, lactose-free milk (or lactose-free yogurt!) and bone broth.
Oh! or Silver vine infusions! Also a good choice, since not all cats react to catnip. @JunsKitchen does a lot of cooking for cat videos.

I've given my girls raw egg as a treat. They were fine, and it actually seemed to help with their kitty cold sores. Idk about making it a regular thing, but I'm sure in the wild cats eat plenty of raw eggs no problem.

Baking for sensitive pets is a blast, you look at the ingredients and just wonder how the hell it's going to come together and then ban you have a baked good. I made dog cupcakes for my dog last year if I recall the only ingredients where peanut butter egg and apple then you baked it in the oven in a muffin tin she loved them luckily for us she was only sensitive to beef and most grains though to much fish in her diet always made her gassy which while she didn't act uncomfortable we figured it couldn't be very comfortable to be as gassy as that made her so she ate primarily poultry or lamb

Kitties are cute, and yeah they do make all sorta noises when they eat...my cats when they enjoy something will purr and when one feels the other may take their share/tasties then they will growl/gurgle at each other as a warning. They are more protective of miniature rubber bands tho...they just go crazy for those as a toy and they WILL growl at each other and hiss and make a fuss to protect it.(edit: I have regular tabby cats/European shorthairs...)

omg i literally had the thought recently of supplementing bone broth into my cats' diets and had the same frustration of everything in the store being either super salty or having other flavorings they shouldn't eat 😭 then had the thought that i could make bone broth despite being pescetarian and not cooking any meat in like 16 years, and if i'm making it myself why not add gelatin and turn it into little treats? and now seeing this i need to get jello molds to make this happen lol

I have a recipe for cat jello:
2 cups unsalted chicken stock
1 tablespoon dried catnip
1 tablespoon unflavored beef gelatin
Combine 1/2 cup chicken stock with beef gelatin and set aside for at least 5 minutes so the gelatin can bloom. It will rapidly reach the consistency of a very thick applesauce, but that's okay. It's supposed to do that
In a pot, combine the remaining chicken stock with the dried catnip and boil it
strain the boiled catnip/chicken stock concoction and combine with the beef stock. Stir until completely mixed and place in the fridge to set

No one ever told my Daisy that veggies should be the small part of the diet. That fiend loved sticking her head in everything from my cooked peas and carrots to my salad. And dare I have broccoli without having given her some. She would eat both the tree and stem. I never gave her raw pumpkin because I never had reason too, but she did love pumpkin pie. I'd make sure to leave some filling on a piece of crust just for her because she also loved baked goods. Meat however wasn't much of a concern to her. Of course being such a foodie, when I wrote anthropomorphic stories about her, she was a chef among other things.
